You read any of the books before?

@@kaylumgoodell1081 Almost all of them. I flew a lot for work, and Reacher was my go-to airplane book.

@@kaylumgoodell1081 I've read a lot, not all. The majority are aggressively competent and creative. Reacher usually has a sidekick who can at least keep up with him.

When he first zeros in on something that's dot 1. The rest of the dots haven't come into focus. As the story unfolds those dots start falling into place. Reacher isn't just sinew. He's also very smart. Lee Child laid out Reacher's prowess with numbers in the books which turns out to be not so evident on the screen unless you pay close attention. Reacher's investigative skills and attention to detail were honed while in the Special Investigators. I've often wondered how Mr. Child could create so many novels about a single character and yet make them so different from each other. It's a God given talent for sure. Nonetheless, they're excellent.

Easiest answer is that this is the group figuring out that the suspect(s) weren't printing money but receiving it from overseas and acting as the distribution network. This means the counterfeit money coming in by the ton has to be brought into their operation to be distributed. For illegal shipments to be hidden, there has to be a cover explaining why the location is receiving the package(s). Buying a ton of excess animal feed is a good way to have regular trucks full of organic material coming on to the ranch, which is then sent out with the trucks hauling the "livestock" out to their buyers. US currency is still made with organic fibers, so it would be easy enough to disguise the counterfeit bills hiding among the rest of the fiber feed. A cattle farm buying animal feed from overseas is business as usual, hence the easy smuggling method. This scene just skips over the part concerning how the counterfeit money was getting into Kliner's hands because Reacher isn't interested in that side of the operation. Once Reacher gets the lightbulb moment of "why Margrave", the animal feed question is no longer relevant to his area of investigation. The show does a bad job at tying the bit together and instead leaves it as the lighthearted moment.

The key to printing fake money relies on just having access to two particular resources. The nylon paper that the money is printed on and the manufacture plates that are printing the designs onto the bill. Anyone familiar with modern counterfeiting will tell you that the source criminals would use for those would be the Chinese counterfeiting operations in North Korea. The largest source of US counterfeit currency is North Korea, because groups operating within North Korea are completely free of consequences from the US.

The books are pretty good for fun reading. I like catching the British terms Reacher uses instead of real Yankee talk, because the author is English.

I have 3 framed printed maps on my walls. All of maps around 150 years ago. One of my town , my county and the country. Cost me around $50 / Euros / pounds each. The town grew a lot 50 years ago , well before my time. But the county map is the most interesting . And glass covered. Not a marker pen in sight. :)

Unpopular opinion, but I agree. Probably because the character is well written, and also because I don't really mind Cruise despite the Scientology insanity.

@@peter9477 Cruise is nuts, but he brought the intensity that the role required. The biggest issue I had with him was that they tried to convince us he was bigger than he was. Ironically the biggest problem I had with the movie wasn't even Cruise, it was that they stuck too well to the first book so there was nothing really surprising.

I'd like to see this guy replace Arnold, in a reboot of the terminator franchise.
