Those dudes at the end would rather run and lose all their loot than fight and lose their loot? Surely you fight and have some fun instead of portal hopping. Same outcome or they might have even won the fight.

Probably didn't wanna waste a ton of time just to lose their loot in the end. I've had fights last for 2 hours because the people just keep enough distance that neither ship can sink the other. If your just trying to pve its more time efficient to just hop and start over on getting loot, rather than spend a ton of time fighting just to start over anyways because you aren't good at pvp.
