WarriorinaGarden: Please state this correctly: "I am a proud American--though I find myself living, somehow, in an alien country that has usurped the proud name of my own Republic. I say this because there is no quadrant of American life that operates from true American Principles, "self evident truths," but indeed, every quadrant if an open violation of those sacred Principles. And those who do not see this simply aren't looking. And ask yourself this: why is it that the media never mentions Iceland where the People threw out the entire government and put the big bankers in jail. Why? Well, because they know that is the only cure and don't want to give American citizens any useful ideas. JWC

The “police guy” doesn’t answer to you, he answers to the individual (in most cases the mayor) that placed him in that position.
@jayclark2077
@jayclark2077 2 года назад
@@tomjohnson3610: You're talking about the IS, and have left out the OUGHT. And the problem with that is that your words might be interpreted as a kind of justification for questionable police behavior. Thus my comment. The world is not just a lump of metaphysical matter. Emerson called that other aspect of our world the "Book of Nature" which implied--as indeed the concept of "Creation" implies, that there is both light and direction as well as a command for Right Action, i.e., ethics, as constituent parts of our world, and of our own Human Nature as part of that world. Right? Indeed, that we have police at all implies that there is an OUGHT (Law) that has a claim upon us because it is from Nature and not arbitrary, and that very fact demands that we question especially those who would presume to enforce that Law at they same time that they act, behave, as if they are above the Law. And it is not that the police should be held to "a higher standard" because there is no higher standard. But clearly they should have less wiggle-room when it comes to the Law that has a claim upon all of us equally. And if they grant themselves more wiggle-room that simply indicates that they have no functional conscience and shouldn't be working within any judicial system, eh? JWC
@jayclark2077
@jayclark2077 2 года назад
@@tomjohnson3610: And one other thing Tom; taking an oath is a very important if not sacred thing. And one cannot get out from under it by just saying, I'm just following orders. Of course corrupt politicians often stand up before the television cameras and say, "I take responsibility for my actions," and the public accepts that as actually "taking responsibility," which is simply ridiculous. Why? Because they are the products of the factory based amerikan stool sistem. First, we have been lied to from birth, and when we add to that the fact that the Media takes advantage of that deficiency instead of correcting it and we have a pretty deadly one, two punch, eh? First the schools, and then the Media. JWC

We grew up with guns, they weren't keep in a safe, they were on display in a beautiful wood and glass cabinet. The cabinet was kept locked, which meant we as kids were not allowed in. We were taken to a gun range and learned gun safety and how to shoot. When we were older and could be left alone, we were told where the key was. I never needed the key, so I never touched it. That is the level of respect parents need to stat instilling in their children again.

More and more people are off work and dying from obesity, I don't see anyone closing the fast food places or stopping companies from putting all the additives in our food. I was born in 1956 in Connecticut. We didn't lock anything, ever. House was never locked even if we went on vacation, car was never locked. Never occurred to anyone. I wouldn't have known how. There was no crime. Our milkman used to come into the kitchen though the back door at 6 am, never knocked, just walked in, open the refrigerator and put the milk in it, put the bill on the kitchen table then leave. I was free to go anywhere on my bike, there was no danger, no thought of it. Day or night. You just lived.

But this is the past. Our population has grown, more children were abused at that time and grew up messed up or did to their kids what happened to them. A lot of nasty things happened at that time. It snowballed into what we have today in our society. Ask your relatives, friends, etc how many of them have been abused. The numbers will astound you. This country wasn't even innocent during its inception also. Africans were sold to "American" men and God only knows how horrible that time was. Don't get me started on slavery and the ripple effect that is occurring now as we speak. This country isn't the same as it was, and you all are acting like ostriches here including that dolt from louisiana. How many of you remember the lynchings that occurred in his precious state and the south. Not too long ago by the way. I was a kid in the 80s and I always saw on the news about church burnings, burning crosses in front yards of colored folks. In 1994 I was in college in oklahoma. I saw on my local news that the last black man to get kicked out of a town called white center (I think, long time ago), died the night he left. 50s something man, went to his new home and was murdered by a black robber. The irony is hella strong. But the fact remains that these times you all hold dear to your hearts weren't everyone's reality.

@@marcianaseem5846 You are insane. Sorry YOU got molested but that was NOT the norm. And if you're so outraged about slavery, thank a White man for stopping it and head over to Africa where the blacks still practice it and use your outrage on THEM instead of men who probably had family die in a war stopping it. Smdh 🤦‍♀️

I was born in New Orleans and as a child through early adulthood, lived in Franklin Louisiana, Lafayette and finally Mandeville LA, before moving away. I now live in Tennessee. I had always been depressed by the state of politics in Louisiana when I was old enough to be aware, but listening to Mr Higgins is giving me new hope for Louisiana.

it's definiltely unconstitutional. The right to due process is completely swept away with red flag laws. SCOTUS will strike this down once GOA or another gun org sues the federal govt.

This man speaks the truth. Something so elusive has plagued our nation. I believe technology is a major problem point. We have young adults with the access from their finger tips to whatever they want online. Whether that be self diagnosing, echo chambers, porn or gore…
