So Maleficent and Hades are played by Kristin Chenoweth and Cheyenne Jackson, both are incredible Broadway Stars, and Mal is played by Dove Cameron. Dove did Broadway too, she was on Hairspray Live with Kristin Chenoweth so it's like a reunion and I loved it.

If you like China's voice (Uma's actress), you will be interested in knowing that was on another Disney when she was younger. The show was called A.N.T Farm and basically she played a genius in music who went to a special section of an high school where all the students were genius. And she was very young, like beginning of middle school? She was in competition with an older girl who was jealous of her talents and the songs slayed! I think the most famous one is the reprise of Dynamite by Taio Cruz (it has 100M views on RU-vid), but all the other songs were originals! China also has a group with her two older sisters, Thrii and they reprised the Halloween song of the show! The sisters were also in some episodes of A.N.T Farm where they played famous stars! The show was definitely good and even younger China was an amazing singer!

I haven’t watched the whole vid yet but unlike Ever after High, I’m pretty sure descendants isn’t based upon the kids becoming there parents. Though some do take the roles, they aren’t aiming to be put to sleep for years like Snow White or anything, and the parents are the originals from the story’s :D

Part of why Maleficent is so camp and show-tuney in Evil Like Me (besides being hilarious) is because the actress is none other than Kristin Chenoweth! Probably best known for being the original Glinda in Wicked on Broadway, she is an icon and I genuinely love her as Maleficent. I loved that they shook up the music styles for the parents' generation. It created a different feel that told you "these people are old-school" and gave off a very different vibe. Obviously they had to go kinda Broadway with Christian Chenoweth because, well, it's Cristian Chenoweth, and Hades just feels like a hardcore Rock kinda guy, so they _had_ to go with it!

The second song's context isn't much since he's right about their backstory, but about the TikTok sound, yes it was used on a few but that's what happens when people who use TikTok to make memes or videos that use movie audio grow up with these movies. I learned to not be surprised anymore. For It's Going Down, it takes place a while after Chilling Like A Villain. The king was kidnapped because Uma's gang realized who he was and they're using him as ransom. Even though they're all villain kids, Mal's group don't see themselves as entirely evil, having chosen they want to be good, and even then they had beef with Uma's group before they chose good. The best way I can really describe the two groups' relationship is they're rival gangs. Context for If Only, without too many spoilers, is that it's the first movie, and Mal's having second thoughts about an evil plan she came up with to help Maleficent that she's currently in the middle of, and she's fallen in love with the king. Also, yeah, Dove Cameron's voice definitely suit songs that have high notes more than raps in my opinion. The differences can clearly be seen in the songs you watched in this video. Again, I recommend watching the movies.

The thing is the song with mal and hade is emotional he’s explaining he left because he didn’t agree with the decisions her mom was making and that he would have taken her with him except his father was a terrible parent and he worried he would be too in his mind being a parent from the shadows was his in his opinion protecting her and that part of the reason he’s evil is his dad which is why he says can’t you see your just like me because nether wants to be like their parent but finds it hard not to he Also implies he watched her grow up just hid in the shadows protected her and tried to be a good father even if she doesn’t know he’s also trying to point out they both have terrible dads and he wants to get to know her more and she’s welcome if she wants to try the spin was also a hug

Something I noticed that I love is that for the pirates, they’re all fairly colorful but the colors are washed out and greyed placed against a grey, dreary background meanwhile both Uma and Harry are wearing very bright colors against the same background so they really stand out amongst the other pirates, I love that

I love that you listened to Evil Like Me and Do What You Gotta Do back to back because i really love the contrast between those two songs and what it shows about Mal's character development and her relationship with each parent. I have a whole mini essay about it but i'm too lazy to type it out unless someone really wants me to, but thats the gist.
