Using our Peterbilt 389X with a Miller Industries, Century 1150R rotator to winch out a truck with a loaded trailer that attempted to turn around and kind of made a mess of some landscaping. No injuries, other than the landscaping and maybe a little pride. As always, we are there to help, not make the situation worse. We do not make fun of or belittle the drivers, who are already having a bad day. Please keep the comment polite and respectful. Thanks for watching and God bless.

I wrote this in the video description, but some are not heeding my request. Everyone, myself included, makes mistakes. I'm certain this driver learned from this situation. I know that I try learn from my mistakes. My videos are about the job of HELPING others and figuring out how to solve problems. I do not belittle the drivers or the companies. Please keep negative commentary to yourself. This is a positive, family-friendly channel. Please help me keep it that way. Thanks for watching and God bless.

Question. Had she properly dealt with the damage to the small truck before she tried to leave the parking lot or not? Hitting the rock and truck and getting stuck trying to get out are all mistakes, possibly avoidable, but still mistakes. Driving off and leaving that small truck damaged without properly dealing with it is something else.

Ron, you are a gentleman. I have read your posting and will avoid writing what I might otherwise. Suffice to say, it worries me that this driver is behind the wheel of a Class 8 truck with 53 ft trailer and GVW of 80,000 lb. I truly question the driver's judgment and driving skills. It is one thing to be forgiving and stay positive. But at the same time one cannot ignore what is obvious here. My sincere concern is not about damage to landscaping in a hotel parking lot but to the other potential troubling issues I see. You're a kind person, and I'm sure some of what I'm saying you have thought yourself.

I have property in an urban area. About every couple of weeks something is torn up or damaged. The security cameras always show what happened and it's usually a "hit and run" from a truck or trailer. Yeah, I know, it's just property damage and nobody gets hurt. Still, someone has to pay for the repair. I've seen two occasions where the driver has pro-actively stepped up and asked how to make it right. In those cases, our response is always "don't worry about it. Thanks for letting us know." But if we have to contact the company, the tone of conversation is a bit different.

The equipment list was a Chevy C30 with a Holmes 440, and an International 4x4 1300 with a twin boom Holmes 480. I thought it was just the shits. Wreckers like this Peterbilt were nearly unknown then, and I don't even know if roll-back were even a thing back then. The best part was that I was young. His drives got in a hole where curb island used to be from when there were cab overs with 45s instead of 53s with trks 10ft longer

Ah, finally I'm #1 to comment on one of your videos! Ron I am so happy to have found your channel and the fascinating look into the recovery business. Your patient and always polite commentary is a major reason why I enjoy watching so much. It's almost like receiving virtual "on the job training!" Not that at 73 I'm suddenly deciding to get into the business myself! :) One day after the health crisis has abated and it's safe to travel again, I dearly hope to make an in person visit simply to meet you and your lovely family and shake hands. I live in NW Indiana about 12 miles east of Chicago so am very careful since it is one of the "hot zones" for Novel Covid-19. I am keeping you, your family and all your workers in my daily prayers Ron, that God will keep y'all safe and secure. You are the epitome of the "Southern Gentleman" sir! By the way, if you need any more of those UHF portables, I've got four of them I'm not using that I'd be happy to send along.

I had something similar happen to me when I was at 7 years driving. The secondary driveshaft that connects the front set of rear axles to the second set of rear axles shattered. I could still drive but I lost most of my power so I only had power to like, one side of one axle. I had a repair place close by but I decided to stay in a hotel room for the day because it was like, noon on a Sunday and they wouldn't be open until the following morning. The hotel had a large dirt lot next door and I called to ask if I could park in there and they said yea, semi's park in there all the time. Cool. Well, when I went to get in because I had lost most of my drive power I got stuck. No damage to anything but I was half in the roadway. I found some dude in an f350 utility truck and we just threw a chain to my DOT bumper and he yoinked me out real quick. Luckily I was empty!

@@jennysthriftedtreasures362 I drive an 18-wheeler for a living and one year is enough to know that you should not do maneuvers like that. You are right to say that not everybody can drive a truck unfortunately the driver in this is one of those drivers who shouldn't be driving a truck she thought it was okay to drive over Landscaping to get out of a parking lot that her truck should have never been in in the first place. A lack of good judgment well operating an 18-wheeler one time could cost someone their life

Our parking lot was set up long years ago for 48 foot trailers with day cabs and when I worked the dock in 2007 -2009 new OTR drop shippers would often freak out, what with 15 more feet at least on the rig. The older drivers would just love watching it but they'd pick one guy to go out and talk them in as they had a schedule to meet and couldn't afford some stuck person.
