I guess intel knows that probably they are going to sell everything even though the value is shit because of the chip shortage so if this is the case then they will be making hugee profits
its a business laptop for people like my dad. honestly he doesnt give two shits about the processor , he just needs a good keyboard , a webcam and a laptop that can boot windows XD XD DELL knows this and sells overpriced shit just cause they have a big name in the corporate world but yeah 2 core CPUs should be dead by now even in a Laptop, like wtf? just opening RU-vid on Chrome must consume like 70% CPU
@@Alina-c9o9k That really doesn't mean anything. If you have this years macbook and it cant run anything but still is more powerful than the $1000 dell laptop then it only means that it will preform even worse.
@@siddhantyadav450 is it really enough? If you don't mind, please let me know the instance when 8gb will not be enough for the m1 macbook. I'm still unsure to decide if I have to save my money for 16gb, or go for the 8gb. Just to give a context, I am a graphic designer, painter, artist. Using google workspace and a design app Clip Studio Paint.
@@rizkytp If u use 5+ tabs of chrome, your graphic rendering is of multiple layers and if u don't have any supplementary PC then I think you should go with the 16gigs version to future proof your purchase for up to the next 5yrs at least. I'm not very sure about the memory needs of graphic designing apps such as your clip studio paint and hence cannot say this outrightly coz I dont want u to waste your money. If on windows your work gets done under 10gigs, then I'm pretty much sure you'll be able to make do with 8gb in M1 but if its 10+, then again id suggest you to beef up your macbook. I hope I was of some help to you and that you get the best purchase and I wish u best of luck in your profession.👍 edit: keep in mind that if u remain short on ram by more than 1gb during your tasks (for eg u require 9gb on your 8gb mac), it'll start using your ssd as a ram for that extra 1gb and this harshly reduces your ssds life so pls keep that in mind. it isn't something to be worried about if u plan on exchanging your laptop within 3 years but beyond that, the effects do start to become noticeable.
@@siddhantyadav450 Hey man, first, thank you very much for the kind words. That 10 gb test on my pc thing is simply a solid suggestion. I just find out that the program that I use doesn't gobble ram like photoshop! about half a gigabyte of ram (lol, yeah I never bother to check how much it eats ram.). Plus, I heard that most programs runs smoothly on the m1. I think I'm good now, I will go for the 8gb. Again, thanks a lot, man! edit: I just read the last part, alright. I will keep that in mind! :D
4 high performance cores, 4 efficiency cores on the M1, so the i5 and up is a fair comparison with 4 cores, but Apple’s M1 has much better thermals, slightly better graphics and better multi-core. Ryzen then stomps both for multi-core grunt, and matches up well with them for single core in 5000 series though Apple is still a little more efficient. Intel has U series chips that need more juice than M1 and almost as much as Ryzen H series, their lack of efficiency is disgusting. Hopefully having AMD and Apple kick their ass repeatedly, especially with the 5600G/5700G in desktops meaning Intel is no longer the only option for integrated graphics in a Windows office tower, will spur them to come back strong.
@@TonyMacina arm logical cores and x86 are not really the same are they? I agree that M1 is epic but my point is that core count is not everything (just remember AMD Bulldozer FX-series)
@@archief1 very true, just seems Intel is lagging behind further and further with the new Ryzen 5000 especially, and for day to day the M1 or even the next gen of Snapdragon 8cx are a good bet due to battery and thermal improvements. Maybe they’ll crack big/little with alder lake.
The m1 is a quad core. A very competent quad core. Basically laptop i7 performance or more and sometimes faster than older 45w h series i9 as well. Tough to compare with MacBook air, that thing is just balls of value. At around the base 9310 price, higher res screen, full DCI p3 colour, i3 price for i7 power, high performance on battery too, complete silence, aluminium unibody, nicer processing albeit same 720p webcam, solid speakers, tough ultrabook to beat. Otherwise a bigger plastic laptop with 5800h and 6800m at around 1600usd is the sweet spot for power. Or 5900hs and 3060 also an alternative. With fsr coming, 6800m looks to be great.
I'd love to see a review of the updated xps 15 and 17! The top of the line xps 17 model seems like a great option for a professional looking thin and light with reasonable gaming performance.
Look man, these ''sales'' don't save this laptop. Its woefully underpowered compared to its competition. Its also more expensive than its competition too. And outside of america, these sales don't really happen.
for most people, power matters less than how it feels to use. If they don't notice slowdowns, like the design, materials, screen, keyboard, and trackpad, as well as load speeds and biometrics, it's a good laptop. Most people are literally only using ultrabooks for web browsing and office products, so I'd say the performance is more than enough. You absolutely pay for build quality and feel with this laptop
@@Goopa-Troopa Listen man, there are $1000 zephyrus g14's which pack top tier build quality and way better performance than this. And for once, the $1000 m1 macbook air makes more sense for just regular web browsing. And is just as portable with way better battery life. Apple has made ultrabooks obsolete and useless. The only laptops that have a place right now are gaming laptops. This is pretty useless as a product. Doesn't compete well. Overpriced, etc.
I’ve worked in IT and used Dell XPS’s before, we had about 500 of the i7, 16gb, 512gb, 4K screens. I would stay away. Dell quality has gone to crap. Even their ProSupport warranty is now crap and outsourced to India, it used to be you’d call a senior tech in the US. 10-15% of our Dells had some HW issue 6-12mo down the line and due to the pandemic and everyone using Zoom, 75% of our dell users complain about mic or speaker issues. Furthermore Dell driver updates always seem to break the device. We’ve had to manually set all our windows devices to never update their dell drivers since after the update the affected device would stop working (display, WiFi, etc) Hope you all found this helpful.
@@mynameisnotsp we switched to Lenovo nd have had way less issues The comparable model would be Lenovo X1 Carbon or cheaper model will be the ThinkBook line
Any review of dell that does not speak to bloat-ware, cheap parts and poor customer service is not reviewing the full product… It is simply reviewing the components
@@samarthbhat7889 yeah idk what people are talking about. I have no problems with bloatware or cheap parts or anything. Dells build quality on the xps line is unmatched in the windows world. Only heard about and experienced qc issues, but that's not a huge problem as long as you can return it.
Hey, you made it to the front page of Google mobile! Congrats! Also, I have this laptop. Ran extremely hot until Dell released the new Bios. Now I love it!
The Adobe premiere pro crash thing has to do with Adobe creative cloud app on windows, just update the app the and issue will be resolved. I had the same issue, looked for many solutions but the only suggestion that worked was Adobe's own suggestion: Updating the Adobe CC app.
I used to think like that, having lived a life of shítty second hand HP's with missing keys and dents on every corner. Then one day I decided to just buy the best XPS you can get for fun and take it back to the store after a week. It's been 8 months and I still have it. It is, without a shadow of a doubt, not only the best laptop, but the best piece of technology I have ever owned, in my entire life. Every day you open it, you get that same feeling you got on day one. It truly is a joy, an experience and an absolute privilege to own and use. If I couldn't afford one, I'd rent one or do literally anything to get one.
its still crazy to me that today in 2021 the MacBook Air/pro is the best bang for you buck and destroys these windows laptops at the same price or even cheaper. so happy I swapped to Mac last year! this battery life and performance is insane!!!
@@crestraizn I was thinking more in regards to the MBP. The person said "Air/Pro". In any case, the new Windows laptops coming out have caught up to the performance, and then some, of the M1.
4:31 the Fingerprint sensor login issue. There is a workaround which works for me 100% of the time. If windows refuses to accept fingerprint, select PIN and THEN use fingerprint. It will log you in.
7:16 I had a very similar driver crash issue on my 9300 when I was doing my FINAL PRESENTATION IN CLASS over zoom, and then it's happened several times since but only in zoom during a screen share. The screen froze and all the pixels scattered and shifted and then it eventually turned into a garbled mess like a TV channel you're not picking up over an antenna. Closing the lid and opening it again fixes it after some dark flickering. I think right now some software isn't playing nice with XPS drivers and the newest windows version (since I just feature updated windows)
I have just boxed my brand new Dell XPS 13 9310 to return back to the amazon seller. The power button occasionally does not power up the laptop. I have to hold down the power button for about 20 secs or so each time and then press the button again for it to turn on. You are then greeted with a windows screen and given a choice to troubleshoot or restart. I chose to return it.
I use the Dell D3100 dock with two Dell 2716H monitors. I switch between my older XPS 13 9370 and my newer XPS 17! This really is a primary docking station for any of my USB TB laptops. Unfortunately, my Gaming laptop, a Dell G5, doesn't have a USB-C thunderbolt that I can plug into this docking setup. I am evaluating dual Display Port docks for the G5.
I have always been a big fan of Dell XPS 13. I have got one of the older models. But it seems they are not doing anything to compete against the new M1 and M2 series of Apple. I was thinking of upgrading my xps laptop to a newer model but now with the new M2 MacBook air on the way, I have changed my mind. My next laptop is gonna be either M2 MacBook Pro or Air.
yeah I love the 9370 as well but seeing most of the models got worse after that one I don't think it's a good time to switch to a new model. I'll hold out until they have a solid 9370 replacement :-)
I hope dell releases a 14 inch one with a larger battery,2.8K OLED display,Better cooling, more ports and 4 front firing speakers.A slightly thicker chassis is acceptable. Also they resolve their QC issues as i am still not confident buying their products.
Please can you tell me where you got your white table top from? Love the rounded corners. I have an electric sit-stand frame and now looking for a table-top. Thank you!
I am comparing MSI E13 evo flip vs XPS 13. Which one is a better laptop? I found MSI E13 i7-1195G7, 32gb RAM, 1TB SSD for $1350 + tax.. Is dell worth $300-$400 more for the same specs? (Only difference is the screen resolution)
I got an HP Envy 360 with a Ryzen processor for around $1000. Superb battery life and as powerful as you need in a small device like this. No OLED though. You also mentioned about not buying from the manufacturer - I just bought a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro. Not a single retailer has one for sale in my country and Lenovo only had 2 units in stock. I still got a small discount and its a bargain even at full MRSP.
Oh yea, Lenovo's been offering better deals directly than retailers, if not comparable ones. Still seeing a lot about some card discount, and some coupon code. They absolutely dominated this year and the last. Probably raking in big sales. Wonder how they compare in that regard to other companies tho; I wouldn't be surprised if they're up there.
I still prefer the 2019 7390 model 6 cores 12 threads and one extra USB c port on the right side. I feel like they can still add more connectivity if Dell truly wanted to.
That kind of sounds like a model I'd be happy with. I love the 9370 from 2018 that I have except the lack of 16gb ram, a bit more cpu power(it's a quad core) and an extra usb-c port. If there would be a model like that with the same great battery life I'm sold. Does it have the battery check button on the side still?
I already bought an XPS 13 9305 with i7 and 4K touch display. I cannot find a review specific for this model. Can I consider battery life like this 9310 with Oled display in terms of lifespan? And what about the overall functionality. Could be considered equivalent to this one?
If you want to add peripherals but don't want to invest in a thunderbolt 4 docking station just yet, can you plug in a USB-c docking station to one of the 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports on the laptop (primarily to connect a HDMI monitor, mouse & keyboard, and USB external drives)? I have read that the thunderbolt ports are downwardly compatible but don't know if this would work.
@@siyzerix which would obliterate which? The MacBook Air M1 would run circles around this laptop in both performance and battery life. Not to mention the fit/finish or OS support.
I'm thinking of getting this laptop for some light gaming (minecraft , from tike to time), and some 1080p video editing on something like davinci resolve. Would this be a goo laptop ?
Why I won't got back to the XPS 1) the trackpad is flakey AF. I had 3 different model XPSs and all 3, same issue. After a while of owning the trackpad will not respond when you wake it up from sleep at times. You have to either put it back to sleep and try again or reboot 2) Register your dell and expect Car warranty style emails to 'extend your warranty'. Seriously, it was annoying 3) they love to spin the fans (maybe this new one fixes it with 'quiet mode' ) even when just trying to watch youtube/netflix/etc. like watching a movie like you are sitting on a airplane, get a XPS. 4) have to press Fn key to use home/end/pg up/pg down keys, so if you do a lot of typing/coding, it's annoying. Their screens and keyboard (minus #4 above) are awesome though
ive had 2 xps', both had loose screws with some keys also with the paint scraping off. both also seem to have a faulty trackpad, with actually clicking (not tapping) not registering
Sorry sir at 3.16 m, that you mention about the xps 13 2021 model. Why I still have the issue with the hinge (I use xps 13 9310 model same as this video).
Bruh You can't complain about Battery Life whilst sporting a 4k Display on your laptop. The UHD+ Panels are always the best imo. Not crappy, but not overkill as well. However, if you look at that 4k Panel once, I can guarantee you, it'll take a lot of persuasion not to get it, because it is STUNNING!
Hello, I noticed that Dell screens only offers dolby/vivid screen colors so I am unable to edit my photos and videos because different devices shows natural colors, but Dell colors shows vivid. is there a setting i can use to set display to natural colors? I found that microsoft and macbook are showing natural colors so I find it great for editing. However, i would like to purchase Dell pc if the screen can be changed to natural colors. could you please advise me is that possible ? do you get what I mean ? thanks a lot

I get 8+hours of batterij. (Spotify and light internet use) Cpu score in cinebench r23 of 5000 And a gpu score of 2000 in time spy And a gpu score of 6000 in fire strike Gpu +160mhz core +800mhz mem Edit: Keyboard is OK except for that 1 o-key that was broken when it arrived. And the trackpad randomly stops working. And in games when the gpu is 100% working with core clock at 1800 to 2000mhz at 69/70°C. The cpu thermalthrottles/powerthrottles? With a stress test of the gpu and cpu at the same time. I saw that the cpu uses 35+W at 3800mhz for 28 seconds. Than hits 95°C. Drops the tdp to 28w at 3200mhz to 3500mhz. And the temperature drops to 80°C in 15sec. And for some reason drops the tdp than down to 15 than 14 than 13W. Around 1800mhz than on the cpu. And when the cpu runs at 13W. The temperature drops further down to 60°C. The gpu is al the time at full power at +1700mhz at 69°C (hotspot 74°C). There is a lot of thermalheadroom left. Why the f_ck is the cpu than running at 13W 60°C at 1800mhz. from looking at the stresstest results. When the gpu and cpu are under full use. The cpu at 28w tdp would run at 3400mhz at 80°C with no problems while the gpu runs at 1850mhz at 69°C. With asus gpu tweak 3. I could set the gpu thermalthrottle limit to 84°C (instead of the 70°C that would hold the gpu temperature at 69°C) I thought that the cpu throttled so the gpu could run full power at 69°C. And thought that by raising that temperature to 84°C would stop the cpu from throttleling. No idea if it worked but there came another problem. With the gpu than running at a higher temperature, it was like I expected using more power ---) powerthrottleing. The gpu ran than at 74°C. But than dropped down the memory speed from 11500mhz to 6000mhz (reading gpu tweak) or 5750mhz to 3000mhz (reading msi afterburner). This leads than to worse performance. And with the gpu tweak 3 on mijn notebook. The gpu was always on. Always using 1w. While before the gpu was of and using no power.
I Loved my last XPS 13 but it had major issues with the display, randomly it would just get weird condensation build up within it the display, kinda like your mirror in the bathroom while taking a shower and FYI it was no where near really moist places it even happened in the winter when it was super dry..SUPER WEIRD i never seen anything like it before and im a IT Technician. Since then I switched to Macbook Pro, some day I will most likely go back to XPS because other then that its a great laptop.
