I love how Clyde never fails to give me that awesome Randy Newman vibe, but at the same time giving something modern and different. And don't get me started on Gracie. The talent she possesses, her twangy phrasing and amazing range just blows my mind every single time. Thank you both for being such gifts to the world. You truly are.

This is likely what Jimmy envisioned his hit song to actually sound like before Guy Patterson ruined it by playing the drum intro WAY too fast. He's probably sulking to this day, writing another hit song, "Alone In My Principles."

This makes perfect sense to me knowing that Clyde's mentor was Adam Schlesinger when he was a kid and helping his Dad write the music for Miss Congeniality. What a wild sentence. Absolutely love it, and RIP Adam.

This is awesome - would love to see songwriters get more (or some) credit on covers like this. In this case, the song was written by the late Adam Schlesinger, who many knew from the band Fountains of Wayne and was one of the victims lost to Covid-19.

Lawrence dad Marc Lawrence directed and wrote the movie "Music And Lyrics" with Hugh Grant, of which the soundtrack was written by the legendary Adam Schlesinger (just like "That Thing You Do".) May he rest in peace!
