While political correctness initially emerged as a way to promote inclusivity and sensitivity, it has morphed into a form of dogmatism that suppresses dissenting voices and stifles open dialogue. The moral is we ourselves, through our endless desire to regress into childhood and make-believe whilst being full grown adults, have become teletubbies. The narrator says "say hello". They say eh-oh. Our children say eh-oh and we want to say eh-oh too. You have no idea what is about to happen but you are along for the ride, immersed in a world unbound by logic or rules or authority, in the happy horror of the unknown.

@albertskoften1452

Both extremely long and extremely short videos cater to the same tendency people have against committing time and attention. When something is like a minute long, it's over right away. You can watch it in-between beats. It's empty and facile. It's not an activity in of itself. When something is several hours, it gives you license to tune out and have it on in the background while you're doing other stuff. This is why the really long stuff tend to be tedious audio based things such as video essays and personality-driven video game streams and such. It's also not an activity in of itself, because it's only background noise. You very rarely see a seven hour drama that demands full and constant attention.

@TheRealShatterGlass
@TheRealShatterGlass Год назад
@@redking36 From my knowledge, audio cassette tapes were not used for capturing video. Video8 and VHS-C were video cassettes that could act like a VHS tape while being about the size of the standard audio cassette. Still, I would believe you if it turns out that your camcorder actually did use compact audio cassettes for recording video. If a company can find a way to combine movie film and 8-track cassettes for an audio visual medium, then it's entirely possible somebody attempted to, and maybe succeeded in, making a compact audio cassette be able to record video.
@alecton
@alecton Год назад
@@TheRealShatterGlasshe audio cassette for video thing has been attempted, it doesn't work, heck even I attempted it as a teenager, the frequency needed to capture video is too high and cassette would have to run way faster. The audio cassette wouldn't hold much video. The reason why Hi8 or 8mm tapes can play video is because the video signal is not linear (like audio tapes), meaning it's not one trail of magnetized densities, but it's a stack of diagonal slits of magnetized trails. Imagine cramming Pringles in a tube instead of having them laid out end to end. Stacked they can fit in a smaller space, laid out they exponentially take up a lot of distance. Same logic with Hi8 tapes.

I got into video essays a while ago and very recently I realised how all them follow a certain skeleton script and none of them actually reach to a conclusion on the considered topic because most of them are too afraid to take sides and present their own views on the matter. Instead they present this carefully selected, created and vaguely neutral introductory visual manual that no one asked for. 😅😅😂
@michaelr8189
@michaelr8189 Год назад
I've become aware of this as well and I've stopped giving a damn about many for that reason. Some people just need to straight up tell what they're getting at or my time had just been wasted. The best ones always make their thoughts clear and build an actually interesting script to explain why. They don't cheaply give the benefit of the doubt to a clear asshole. This is also why the movie essay/documentary "F For Fake" is one of my favorite movies. Aside from perfectly engaging editing and being presented by Orson Welles, it clearly picks it's sides. Orson Welles wants to talk about art faker Elmyr de Hory and straight up tells you hes a fraud. I've never seen a documentary be so perfectly blunt!
