This story's been told a few times on the channel amidst streams and longer-form videos, but it really deserved it's own video... here we are, the great poo-pee-saga of the BNSF 1676.

He spent his entire time at the hotel washing his bag in the bathtub with no success, He ended up going to Walmart and bought a duffel bag and thew his ruined one into the hotel dumpster.

One dept i worked in back late 70s was sheet metal basically all the sheet metal on the Dash -7. One panel I recall forming was the stainless steel toilet floor. The walk to the closest restroom was long trek around a stacker storage unit to get to use. One coworker figured it was easier to pee under the hydraulic tank in back of his press brake and throw down some oil dry because the tank dripped anyway. Well, a female coworker kept complaining on the urine smell and the sight- everyone knew he did this. He got written up so many times and eventually fired. Recently he passed away I read. His obit mentioned another shop he went to work for, I hope he learned better restroom etiquette😢😮😅

I can only imagine how bad the smell was. As the low seniority guy I used to dump amfleets in Boston. They have a deodorizer in the tank so it wouldn't smell to bad, but every once in a while there would be a private car on the back and because its not in regular use like the regular revenue cars, it would rarely get rinsed. They also didn't have the deodorizer, so it was just a stew of piss, poo, vomit and whatever passengers put down the toilet. Months and months of raw sewage baking in the summer heat. The smell was _horrible._ The entire shop would smell bad for 30 minutes or so.
@Newberntrains

one time in charleston SC they had a lav truck come and service one of the amfleets on train 90. Conductor hands dude something he puts it on the car and proceeds to pump the train 2 minutes in the hose comes apart spewing 40 foot of "mud" all over the platform the conductor projectile vomits against the window of a coach class passengers were yelling and running you could hear yelling in the car the poor crew dude yaked on it was mass hysteria

@KaiserFrazer67
@KaiserFrazer67 Месяц назад
If the GP7 you rode in actually did have a toilet in the nose, and your engineer friend wasn't just BS-ing you, then it was put in (more like squeezed in, as there isn't much room!) some time after the unit was built, as they had no toilets originally. I've just recently visited the Illinois Railroad Museum and got a cab tour of CNW 1518--the very first GP7 ever built, former EMD Demonstrator 100--which was extensively rebuilt and restored. The cab is now so clean you could eat off the floor, but I digress. I asked the young volunteer (in his 20s, so, 'young' to me) who helped work on it (and also drove it) if it had a toilet in the nose, as I knew many later locomotives did. He said that 1518 did not, and none of them did during that era. He then opened the door to the nose (on the right side behind the controls, as the left half was taken up by the steam generator). There was nothing in there except an empty crawl space which allowed electrical access, which was also being used for some storage. It was cluttered, but not terribly dirty since the entire locomotive had been gone through and restored. The only parts of 1518 which hadn't been completely restored were the steam generator, which only received a cosmetic restoration and not a mechanical one; and the diesel engine itself, which received a mechanical restoration but not a complete cosmetic one (it was cleaned up, but not repainted).

Yeah , this guy I know used to rent an apartment( this is out in back water town in upper MI.) he rented it just to house his pet alligator and yellow python, well the apartment had a squirrel infestation, and the python had smorgasbord. Well one squirrel ran down the inside of the bowl it was dry from lack of use, so the snake followed and died from sewer gas and blocked the line farther down and clogged the entire system. Welp the other tenants notified the landlord he intern called the plumber. Try as he might nothing he did unclogged the drain, now mind you this was an old ,old septic system including the tank and virtually plugged drain field. Well he was an enterprising young fellow, he brought back THE TRUCK, it had a big tank and a pump for sucking out debris and a compressor to jet air into the line to break up clogs, now hold on I'm getting there. This ingenious young lad fed the 8 foot long hose down the toilet inflated a collar that sealed the gap around the hose, oh boy. He proceeded to empty the compressed air tank(300 gal.) into the toilet, all at once with a mighty roar the other tenants apartment became an above ground pool complete with a dead squirrel ,11 foot yellow, well kinda python and 500 gallons of poop and toilet paper and the most horrendous stench . Thank god for service master, it took a few weeks to abate but it got cleaned up ,then the building was condemned( old house) , the snake owner was sued he had to sell his pet shop , the young plumber was dismissed. And all was well once again. Dam that must have been a sight ,a crap volcano, LOLOL. now you know.

The worst thing that happened to me was during my time training to be a machinist. The whole thing closed down for a month in summer and we were supposed to get the water oil emulsion we use for cooling and lubricating the tools out of the machines before that break because it can go bad. Someone forgot to empty a lathe, the coolant has been in there without movement for a month at around 40*C (104*F). Poop and transport: I work for an airline. One of our jumbos came off service and went to the hangars for maintenance. Normal procedure was that the waste tank was supposed to be emptied after flight, on this day it didn’t happen. As the aircraft was so large, its tail would not fit into the hangar so sat outside in the sun for 3 days, until a loud bang was heard. The heat from the sun had fermented the contents of the waste tank to the point where 12 hours of human waste from 400 people exploded. They made the apprentices clean out the aircraft’s belly and fuselage. To avoid corrosion this had to be done to a very high standard. Even upstairs in the passenger cabin, the aircraft had a unique aroma for months afterwards.

This is a clear explanation why the firefighters who worked with my dad referred to the city vac trucks as “turd herders”. (They disliked the moniker btw lol)

Yep, that's exactly the kind of moniker firefighters would come up with.

I can't imagine how bad that must have smelled. We had our sewer break under our house and didn't notice until it started to smell. The cleaning company removed around 200lbs of stuff, mostly soil and rocks, and that smelled _awful_.

Interbay itself was not a bay Magnolia has always been connected to the rest of Seattle. It's named because it was a low flat spot between Smith Cove (on Elliot Bay) to the south and Salmon Bay to the north (inter = between, bay = bay). Some land was reclaimed from both ends, but not nearly as much at the north end near Salmon Bay where you worked. IIRC Emerson St was the extent of the bay before reclamation, hence it's slight curves through the area.

Every job has its shitty days, but that takes the cake. Wonder what conversation was like when that bill went through accounting!

Wow! That had to be nasty!💩🤮I worked on a service pad, as an electrician, in Rutherford Yards in Harrisburg, Pa. We had a beautiful old wooden round house from the steam engine days. It was a cool place to work. Thank God we never had any troubles like the 1676 had!

Sh*t-ton = 2000 pounds. So that means a sd40-2 weighs approximately 180 sh*t-tons, or 368,000 pounds. Which means that 1676 weighed 370,000 pounds.

I held it together until you mentioned the bill had the weight of what was removed and I don’t know why but that’s when I lost it and shot pizza rolls out my nose

i'll have to give you full marks on that story. i can relate to that sort of as one of my past jobs was to pump out portable toilets and the size of some of those turds (poop chunks) was like omg how did they give that even out through their "A" hole. Definitely 10/10

I'm new to the channel. I would love to hear more of these weird and disturbing stories you have. I have a morbid curiosity. And I have seen people lose limbs and get State by a tree. That's when a tree falls on you and there's pretty much nothing left. I used to work in the woods as a logger. I've seen eight inch branches go through two inches of steel

I Absolut, positively love the fact that someone is running on 1676 right now, and they don't know this story. But every time they go into the nose they'll see the marks on the floor... they'll stumble upon this video and just go "SON OF A... WHY DID THIS.. THIS THING STINKS"
