I was largely mildly Impressed by the wrk she did, up to the point where you told me she was 16 when she did it. At this point I am in awe of her work. I can categorically say that I could not have produced work of that quality at that age. Hell, I can’t match that level and I’m getting close to forty. Hella props, much respect.

One of the things I remember fondly about my time playing Guild Wars 2 was the absolute excitement the community got when they added to the game an armor piece for the spellcaster classes that was fully covered on female characters but had a huge cleavage on male characters. Look it up, it is the Warbeast armor set. The female armor is very modest, but the male armor is made for the guys to show their pecs and abs.

This is honestly one of the reason why I love AC Odyssey. The armor looks the same between Alexios and Kassandra, infact Alexios' armor is more revealing cus they always make sure Kassandras chest is covered

There are a lot of "revealing" armors in the game (iirc the Artemis set is one such example), no idea how those look on Alexios tho. But yes, I love how they balanced the designs with lot of historical armors as well as flashy ones.

"incrompehensible storyline" well, as a stand alone story its not even that diffciult to grasp, but most importantly, Nier automata is the fourth and final installment of a given timeline in the drakengard series. Since most people havent played the three previous games, its no wonder they wont get the full story... (The entire storyline consists of Drakengard 3->Drakengard 1->NieR gestalt/replicant->Nier automata)

Another interesting tidbit in the "make it feel familiar for anyone" is the prologue cutscene in the first game was different between regions, japanese release had a shot of Tokyo tower, french had the Eiffel tower, German the Berlin TV tower, and I believe UK big ben and US the empire state building

Yoko Kanno, the composer of Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the shell stand alone complex and many other animes, is also well known for creating made up languages in her compositions. She also has songs in Japanese, French, Italien, English and so on. Sometimes she even mixes languages in the same song In her case, it's really to make the music an experience and not focus on the lyrics. Like a lot of her songs do have meanings in her lyrics, including the songs that are in her made up language, but if you never bothered to looking them up or can't understand it, that's fine because that's not what the point of the songs are.

@@Robbobobobobobo Kajiura did it too to even greater extent, yes. And you are right in that Kannos works, most of her songs featured languages that isn't that common, at least in Japan . In fact Kanno a fully admitted that Terror in resonance was inspired by Sigur Ros. But if you look at Kannos works, she also use frequent use of fake languages. Cats on mars sounds French but it's actually made up. Then we have Sora from Escaflowne, Moon from Turn A Gundam, Aimo from Macross Frontier and so on that all feature made up languages. I believe (but don't quote me on that as I'm not sure) that Kajiura have said that Kanno was one of her inspirations.

Just to provide another example to the aforementioned cats in mars Yoko's collaboration with Origa on "Inner Universe" and "Rise" is a work for Japanese anime about Japanese future sang by an emigrant from Russia in partially English and partially Russian, which doesn't sound exactly proper as the intonations and accents have been seriously twisted at times, but is recognizable through many repetitions or careful listening. Another example would be songs by russian group Atlantida Project, which incorporates what appears to be Hindi as the themes are largely Buddhism-inspired, at least to my perception.

Fabio's gym body was kind of like sprinkles on an ice cream cone. It was definitely a bonus, but not really a deal breaker if it's missing. His face is his real draw (especially his eyes, those are dangerous 😳), and how he's somehow able to convey confidence, humor, and empathy all at the same time. Keep those, and soften him to a Dad Bod? Still dead sexy. Lose those, and he would have been forgotten in a year or two ... just like all his peers 🤷🏼‍♀️

I read that Nier creator Yoko Taro requested the future language due to being a fan of Panzer Dragoon. The preceding series before Nier was Drag-on Dragoon (Drakengard). That series also takes place in a post apocalyptic earth where humanity speaks in a future language and has built up a mythology about precursor civilizations. Check out Archipel's interviews on composer Saori Kobayashi and her Panzer Dragoon work where she mentions "writing music for a world in decay" and Nier composer Keiichi Okabe and his team's BTS thoughts on Nier's music.

Karl, hate to be that guy however, I wanted to offer a minor correction. The song isn't "Kaine". It is Kainé, pronounced as "Kai Nay". This matters as Kainé is the best girl of NieR. Also, the amazing song "Weight of the World" is all the languages sang together and the version from Final Fantasy XIV ("Weight of the World (Prelude)") actually adds the language from that world (known as Forespoken) to imply that that world is added to the chorus for SPOILER REASONS.

Soken being able to make his own version of Weight of the World is worth a thousand ass-thickening 2B cosplay outfits. (IIRC Yoko Taro requested that the acquriable 2B cosmetic armor you can get from the NieR raid series actually makes your character's ass thicker) Also as a seasoned FFXIV player: yes, NieR Automata is straight up canon to that game. You literally meet and talk to 2B. This wasn't some limited event either, it's one of the major raid series for the 3rd expansion, Shadowbringers.

You know, when I was playing Nier; Automata, I actually got curious if 9S would lose his clothes when he self destructs. And I found out that he does. He loses his shorts, and he gets left with his boxers. Which look almost exactly the same as his shorts. I legitimately almost couldn't tell that there was a change when I did it at first.

Something interesting The original NieR released in Japan (called NieR replicant) featured an androgynous main character, which was changed to be a huge buff man for the western releases (called NieR gestalt). Even in NieR Automata, the male units such as 9S are quite androgynous in design.

I don't know what is with Japanese and making up languages for songs and games. Not just Nier, but IIRC Yuki Kajiura and Hiroyuki Sawano did it too. Don't even get me to Ar Tonelico -- five games and each games has 1-2 new dialect for the Hymnos language they made which has its glyphic writing system, pretty clear rules, a small dictionary of words, and somehow manages to blend emotions and roboticness to reflects the fact that they are used for song magics sung by a race of short-lived girls created to harness the universal energy of a floating death world via a connection to the giant tower that acts as a server that connects all of their souls.

In regards to big slappable ass equality. The MMO Final Fantasy 14 has a Nier cross over. One of the rewards is a set of trousers that give you a "2B Ass". You get a set of panties and leggings like 2B and a nice pert ass like 2B. These trousers can be worn by any PC race including the big buff dudes that look like the Hulk.

I don't see androgynous and well groomed/ metro as synonymous personally. I'm attracted to androgynous features or styling but that doesn't necessarily mean someone is overly styled. Gruff and androgynous are actually what I'm more attracted to. Metro I see as more Christian Bale in American Psycho, lines that are too sharp sometimes appearing cocky, overly pampered and styled, where androgynous usually is striking strong features played softly, not harsh. Maybe the meaning of metro has morphed from what it meant before to just taking care of yourself.

Yuki Kajiura, another famoous composer from Japan did also invent her own language for her works. It is even called 'Kajiura-go'. One can hear it on the soundtracks of: - Le Portrait de Petit Cossette - Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution - Arjuna - Noir - … And in her concert sessions with Kalafina. It is somewhat similar to the Adiemus albums by Karl Jenkins.

Yeah Adam and Eve are those kind of pretty-boys that they were talking about, but 9S just looks like a pre-teen. Also, 9S loosing his pants when he self-destructs isn’t nearly as noticeable cause he’s wearing boxers and his shirt/jacket kinda hangs down past his waist. It’s still kind of uneven since Adam and Eve aren’t main characters
