THATS CRAZY - I worked with Roger 3 years ago in Alaska! He was our safety officer/Blackhawk coordinator on the Colony Glacier! Super cool, awesome guy! So crazy seeing him here!
Yeah, those guys did a great job of 'Nation Building'. Lol. Only justice in this World is all your Vets are mental and broke. Oh, and you fucked your own economy up failing to win a battle against a bunch of farmers with American made weapons from the 1980's. So, thanks for your service, special-guy.
I think your post would be better suited towards the senate or congress, this was just a person doing their job to the best of their ability. The skills involved in his profession are unique and it takes a unique person with a certain amount of metal to do.
Lisa M Well I would assume so considering it is the job of the PJs to go directly into combat to rescue wounded soldiers who sometimes have horrific injuries. They also have to recover dead bodies and severed limbs and things like that so yeah I don't blame him.
Casey, that was the first vlog I have immediately re-watched. Loved everything - the music, the story... Great movie. Now for that time when you posted the actual Afghanistan movie!
+CSapienza He used to be a former US National team soccer/football player, played in the World Cup and atm he is a host or used to be a host in the KICK TV youtube channel.
TheMainnj Shouldnt be, if first names cause confusion they will be called by their last name. some peoples first names can be confusing like that and I believe the practice is just to use last name
Yep......u don’t realize how weird it is until other people call u on it......but when I was in it was just normal....u never call people by their first name unless u knew them on a personal level.....when they have the same last name and same sounding rank it can get confusing.
I'm from Mexico and I don't find this funny jajajajaja just kidding is exciting even that I've never been a soccer fan at all (or any sport but basketball)
Roger is an Air Force Pararescueman. His job is to preserve all life at any cost. Whether that be a U.S. service member or a local national, it's his responsibility to risk his life to save that individual. That's the the Pararescue mantra, "That Others May Live." But people who make ignorant comments wouldn't know anything about that.
I did 3 combat tours over there. I had no clue you were there. Much respect brother. I would go back anytime. Its hard to find relatable things back home and nothing will ever match or exceed the adrenaline and fear that I felt while fighting and I don't have any regrets about anything done while there. War is hell and its best to not let it ruin your life and find coping mechanisms to deal with any trauma you might have endured.
+Clanton Beeth that's actually false they aren't the only ones there are many special forces groups that do similar work and operate from an active war zone but they aren't publicly known SSGT Cunningham

I wouldn't join the army because I don't think it's all that brave to shoot at shepherds from a million dollar helicopter. I baulk every time I hear the 'They were just doing their job' argument. Exactly - their job. Meaning they chose it. There's no national conscription in the US, it's a paid army. So all these hoo-ra ass holes went over and decimated villages for...money. Fuck them, they deserve their PTSD. Same goes for every soldier in any country where 'service' is a choice, including my own (UK).
I'm late in catching up with the VLOG, but THIS is the reason I follow your life. You have gone to where few of us have and done so willingly. I missed Afghanistan, but went to Iraq twice. You have captured the understanding. Thank you.
This was a really special episode and thanks to Roger for his service and opening his unit's doors to you in the Gan. I've come to love your work I cant stop watching.... Thanks for everything!
+Rap_ham I believe he said once that he hasn't posted it due to just the emotional appeal it has on the soldiers that were with him. Some reason like that any ways.
This is, for me, one the best vlogs out there by anyone ever. This presents emotions at their purest and a great story told brilliantly. What Roger is doing is awesome and why he is doing that is beyond incredible. It is pretty clear how much he and his work means to Casey. Best vlog? Shit, one of the best films. Love this.
Such an heartfelt, inspiring story. It must've meant A LOT to him when you guys went over there.. perfect timing too as it was almost like a "therapy" for Roger.
it was really awesome to see some of this footage and to hear Roger's and your Afghanistan story. the last clip was especially amazing. this was a good change-up for the vlog!
YES!! Thank you Casey for sharing more on this story. It has always been an intresting aspect of your life. I appreciate and am so glad that you went back and worked with that footage, sharing it with us even! You finally made your Afghanistan Movie. Or at least a part of it.
man I still love coming back and watching old Casey videos - I mean he's still really inspiring but there was something about his "new" daily filmmaking that had so much fire to it. Like it was a non-stop rollercoaster of learning and pushing the frontier of filmmaking.
Casey, that wasn't the first vlog I have immediately re-watched, because all your vlogs and videos are super interesting and very good made! Thank you!
Thank you Casey for raising the Bar, 310 Vlogs later and I have seen a huge improvement Everyone's vlog is getting a minute better, after one Casey vlog at a time
Love your vlogs Casey, because of your dedication and passion you make into your videos. Me and two other of my friends got so inspired into making our own videos. We are trying our best to produce and actually achieving something. Btw great vlog as always Casey.
Casey ,I watch this video already 5 times ,I think ; I love your channel ,no questions about it you r a winner ,but after you go to Afghanistan and in some way pay respect to those men and women ,I feel like you r my friend ,thanks !
+CaseyNeistat SpecFor scare the crap outta me. I was just a USN Seabee but Roger was the guy who goes into hell, like an Angel of Death, to rescue a brother/sister who is down there taking crap from evil people. He goes into that pit of fire, and pulls those downed souls out. That takes balls, that takes courage and that takes sheer will. That is amazing. Thank you Roger, for your service to this country and thank you for serving; from one vet to another.
[RG] Mad_Dog_Seabee I️ don’t want to sound rude but why do you army types always have to make shit sound poetic his job is to go help wounded men not fight satin himself it just makes you sound stupid
Lynette Scribner so did my parents and their parents and my brothers but they don’t preach as if they are doing gods work or some bullshit it’s a job stop making it sound glorious
Casey, this is vlog is my favorite. I hope that some day you are able to produce a video that does justice to your time spent with these incredible patriots in Afghanistan. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into Roger's story.
Stumbled upon your channel, literally the only channel I keep up with!! Congrats! And you have the sickest editing skills and camera play, wish you all the best!! Much love from Brazil!!
+m0chiii he spent time with our troops and was able to help provide some much needed entertainment during such a tense time. In this case it was tattoos. I wasn't aware that happened until today.
Great video. Some people in life are like that. You don't have to know them very long or spend much time catching up with them but the time spent together is so impactful it feel like you have known them your whole life.
Wow, what an amazing story. You should definitely share more peoples stories on your channel. You're such a good story teller and I feel like you could really do something with that...
I clicked the Link given to Roger's account of his war time experience, one of the most powerful things Ive read. I also linked to his Instagram and followed. Casey thank you for this video without you I would not have connected or learned anything about him at all.
Damn, Roger Sparks, you are one hell of an amazing man! Same goes for the men you saved whom passed in your arms, you did everything you possibly could. You sure as hell deserved the silver star for that amazing performance, thank you for serving our country, you and every other person that has served are the reason I feel safe in my country.
casey you are the most inspirational person I see in a daily basis. doesn't matter that it's RU-vid it's personal daily contact one sided but still contact. keep winning keep doing more one day I'll catch up to you one day I'll do more.
I still remember when you were talking about that bulletproof vest a few months ago on the vlog - and now it's another piece of puzzle that fits in - very emotional story by the way
You've lived such a full life! You've inspired me to do a vlog even if my life is mundane compared to yours. I know one day I'll rewatch my vlog and see the blessings in it
I keep hearing about the naked men cards and military, where the heck do they get them? A guy told me that he put a couple in a bandage and when a guy got shot the doctor opened it up and naked men flew everywhere, and everyone was laughing their ass off, even the guy that was bleeding out.
Casey this brought so much back and this Story was Absolutely amazing and kind of brought up raw emotions that I really kind of thought it was behind on many levels.A Big Salute to those Guy's and is so Beautiful that you are still Good friend's Today.God Bless them and God Bless you Awesome Video Deb
That is so cool that you have become friends with that guy. Those para rescue men are corageous and probably some of the most selfless men on the planet. Their motto is "so that others may live". So that's pretty cool. I just discovered your channel.
A lot of people who do life vlogs tend to get boring the more you watch them. your vlogs are the other way around, your vlogs get more and more interesting the more we find out about your cool life. thanks for sharing it with us Casey! 😊
Wakes up, checks youtbe. No Casey Neistat Vlog....... Something's not right, its noon and there is no vlog. This cant be happening. I don't know how to start my day now!!!!
