World war 2 started in 1917 ? Can you please link your sources. I feel like theres alot of sensational news in this video. Where do you get all these facts from? I am muslim myself, but I am also a history and geography teacher.

The Japanese entered WW1 in 1917. I made a mistake in the script which led to me reading off the teleprompter as ww2 which then led to my editor showing ww2 in text. For this story I mainly used academic articles on JSTOR to find the history of Japan's Pan-Asianism ideas/the black dragon society and their use of Islam as a tool for this project. I had to search for sources on both the Russian, Turkish, Japanese and English Wikipedia pages to find biographies for Abdurashid Ibrahim and some of the Japanese characters involved. I also found some small details on the pages of Japanese Islamic Organizations including details on the history of the Tokyo and Kobe Masjids (which were originally funded by the Japanese government and their Islamic promotion projects), so that helped confirm some details. As you can imagine, listing all of these sources would take a lot of time and the number of sources would be immense because of the number of details involved. (sometimes I use a source for just a single sentence and at one point I had 30+ pages open with various sources and images) But one thing I've been INTENTIONALLY consistent with is giving specific names of people, events, organizations and dates involved so that if anyone really wants to they can do a few quick Google searches and piece the story together on their own. Maybe going forward, I could add a section to the description for "further reading" to give some books or article suggestions. 🤔

The first reference to Islam in Japan goes all the way back to the Tokugawa-era, when 'Arai Hakuseki' attempted the first scholarly, neutral appraisal of Islam based on the words of an Italian priest. Although Japan's romance with Islam manifested first in the Meiji-era, when the Japanese novelist 'Tokai Sanshi' published his extremely then-popular novel 'Strange Encounters with Beautiful Women' (Kajin no Kigū) in 1885 which painted a roseate and romantic spectacle of Islamic anti-Imperialism which in turn generated sympathy among the Japanese intellectuals for Islam and Muslims living under colonial occupation. The most Pro-Islam propaganda started pouring out of Japan in fact during the war where Many Japanese took pride in the fact that a great number of their population was Muslim from Indonesia to China which resulted in the establishment of Dai-Nippon Kaikyo Kyokai (The Greater Japan Muslim League, known as DNKK) in 1938 under the auspices of the Japanese former PM and general 'Senjūrō Hayashi' which also earned the support of other Japanese military authorities and the Japanese government, as a comprehensive research institute for Islamic studies. It was was dissolved on Oct. 15, 1945 after the end of the Pacific War on Aug. 15, 1945, and was succeeded by the Nihon Isuramu Kyokai (the Association for Islamic Studies in Japan, hereafter NIK). 'Waseda University' became an enormous hub of Islamic propaganda where Muslim students all across from Egypt to Philippines came to study. The DNKK commenced publishing their periodical, the Kaikyo Sekai (World of Islam), in April 1939. One senior researcher and five other researchers contributed to analysis and Commentry on Islam and publishing this periodical, while other members participated in conducting research and surveys by region with Shumei Okawa being the architect of the plan. Naito Chishu, Yagi Kametaro, and Murakami Masatsugu participated in the research activities. The Society’s activities in Inner Mongolia became the blueprint for their activities in Muslim communities. In May 1938, at the request of the army, Zenrin Kyōkai took the Muslim Research Institute (Kaikyō Kenkyūjo) led by Ōkubo Kōji under its wing. The institute published Muslim-related books and journals, including the monthly journal Kaikyōken (The Muslim Zone). Monthly seminars and fieldwork reports were held. The new Muslim Research Institute stood under the Society’s central office in Tokyo and had a separate budget of 30,000 Yen. Within a couple of years, Zenrin Kyōkai had set up Muslim health clinics (kaimin shinryōjo) in Baotou,38 Salaqi and Houhe. In addition, a Medical Training Centre for Muslims and a Muslim school (Kaikyō Juku) were also set up in Houhe and medical checks and treatment were of- fered free of charge. As with the Mongol population, mobile clinical checks were also conducted. In 1939, a section for Muslim students was added to the Tokyo office to take care of Muslim students who studied in Japan. In 1940, a Muslim Girls School (Zenrin kaimin jojuku) was founded in Kalgan to train Japanese language teachers for Muslim schools. Interestingly the budget for these activities amongst the Muslim population was not included in the Society’s annual budget in Inner Mongolia or the “Overseas Central Office” in Kalgan. It seems that these costs were covered from a separate source. In fact the first scholars and academic school of Japan’s specialists on Islam, Central Asia and the Middle East commenced their careers in an intense atmosphere of Islam policy discussions that happened to be generally well integrated into this new anti-Imperialist/West, Asian internationalism. Many of these scholars luckily continued to be eminent experts in Islamic studies in the post-war period despite being suspected of collaboration such as Naitō Chishū (1886-1950), the foremost authority on Ottoman Turkish history in pre-war Japan; Ōkubō Kōji (1888-1950), a Turkish-language expert specializing in Central Asian studies; Kobayashi Hajime (1904-63), the first Japanese specialist in Arabic studies, who studied in the famous A1-Azhar University of Egypt with the support of Ōkawa; and Izutsu Toshihiko (1914-93), Japan’s foremost expert on Islamic philosophy, who later continued to teach at Keio University in Japan and McGill University in Canada. These men used their knowledge during the war years as language instructors, or preparing military reports, manuals and propaganda materials, as well as working at such scholarly institutions as Kaikyō kenkyūjō, established under the auspices of the Foreign MinistrY One of the most amusing occurrences was the decision by the Japanese Islamic Society when during the last year of Abdürreşid İbrahim's life, during May 1944 the Society decided to hold a ceremony in honour of the Tatar revolutionary or should I say, a counter-revolutionary. This blissful moments of his life was to be utilized in a propaganda film entitled “Muslims in Tokyo” aimed at the Muslim populations in the South-East Asia under Nipponese occupation. According to the director of this film, Aoyama Kōji, shooting on the film caused old Ibrahim’s exhaustion and finally his death in mid-summer.

Abdulhamid was not hostile to Japan. To the contrary, Japanese victory against Russia was celebrated with a national holiday throughout the land, and he sent a military ship to congratulate them. He was also the main supporter of Muslim societies in Russia. There was a Japanese ambassador who firmly believed in the friendship between the two. Ottomans was the only power which challenged European powers, so it was an interesting case for them.

He kept 20% share for himself and distributed 80% among his muslim followers accirding to their rank. He also allowed muslim men to keep 4 wives and also have srx with their female slaves. Muslim women were nit allowed to have sex with their male slaves. He promised his musim folliwers 72 virgins in jannat. Hence he always had a very large number of myslim folliwers ready and willing to follow him. He conquered Makkah and destroyed 300 idols inside the Kaaba and converted it into a mosque for Muslims. The he conquered all of Arabia and those who did not covert to Islam were called dhimmus and made to pay a very heavy jazia tax. After him the all of the Kaliphas followed the same rules and conquered Syria,Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco etcetera. Over time dhimmis coverted to Isl to avoid hazia tax and to become first class citizens. Even todsy non muslims are not trested as equals in Islamic nations. Slavery was abolished by Saudi Arabia in 1962 and jazia has also been abolished.

I find this stomach flipingly hilarious. Do the Japanese people know that Islam is on some way incompatible with Islam. Art and sculpture is an integrated part of Japanese. Not much have to be said about Japans anime and manga culture. Where in Islam depicting any living thing ( art ) is a sin and punishable to hell Sahih bukhari 7:72:834 Narrated By Muslim : We were with Masruq at the house of Yasar bin Numair. Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, “I heard ‘Abdullah saying that he heard the Prophet saying, “The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.'” This hadith applies to everyone. So basically all Japaneses are destined to hell. And yet ...... . Like i said stomach flippingly hilarious

Islam would not have permitted the terror the imperialist Japanese wrought on the Pacific during WWII, nor would Islam excuse the concept of the kamikaze, which went on the influence "Muslim" terror groups, not the other way around. The idea of bombing for terrorism purposes, whether suicide or otherwise, was an alien concept to Muslims, which was introduced by the British and Zionists, and later inspired by the kamikaze.

A Japanese emperor cannot convert to a different religion, even if the wanted too. The emperor is the head and the divine representation of Shintoism, and direct descendant of the sun goddess Amaterasu. A Japanese emperor converting to a religion other than Shintoism, is similar to the prophet of Islam converting to a different religion....

I had first heard of Islam in Japan in a report about a japanese man who became a mujahideen in Afghanistan to fight the soviets, he was a NA fighter though and had nothing to do with Bin Laden. He returned home a hero after the Soviets retreated from Afghanistan, never becoming a fundamentalist. Makes you wonder, shifting the center of Islam to the east could have been a great thing for the progressive future of Islam

My dad was a history teacher. He told me that in the early middle ages England nearly converted to Islam. King Richard the lionheart was taken hostage my his Muslim adversary during one crusade and this put his brother King john on the thrown. John wanted to do a deal with Richard's captors to KERP him (and possibly dispose of him) and John would pay a large sum AND convert England to Islam. I'd love to know if this is true. We could have been the first Muslim nation in Europe.

If you what you have claimed is true. It is certainly a blessing in disguise. If that had occurs, we would still be stuck riding domestic animals as a mean of transport. The reality is OIC (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) countries only account for 1.6 per cent of patents and 6 per cent of scientific publications, despite holding nearly a quarter of the world’s population. And, out of 1.6-1.8 billion Muslims, strangely there are only 3 Nobel laureates (2 Americans, 1 Pakistan) in Science. Ironically the most important one, the Nobel laurates from Pakistan was even declared a non-Muslim and has since left his state. And, many Muslims love to "claim" that the Quran contain many "scientific facts" that were discovered by scientists centuries later? So. do you see the problem here? Muslims do not even make up 1% Nobel laureates in the scientific field. On the other hand, In an estimate by Baruch Shalev, between 1901 and 2000, about 65.3% of Physics Nobel prize winners were either Christians or had a Christian background. (4.7% for atheist, agnostics, and freethinkers) In an estimate by Baruch Shalev, between 1901 and 2000, about 72.5% of Chemistry Nobel prize winners were either Christians or had a Christian background. (7.1% for atheist, agnostics, and freethinkers) In an estimate by Baruch Shalev, between 1901 and 2000, about 62% of Medicine Nobel prize winners were either Christians or had a Christian background. (8.9% for atheist, agnostics, and freethinkers) Ernest Walton 1903 - 1995. A devout Methodist, who said science was a way of knowing more about God. Winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics after he artificially split the atom and proved that E = mc2. J. J. Thomson 1856 - 1940. A practicing Anglican who prayed and read the Bible daily. Discovered the electron; invented one of the most powerful tools in analytical chemistry - the mass spectrometer; Charles Babbage 1791 - 1871. A Protestant devotee who devoted a chapter of his autobiography to a discussion of his faith. The father of the computer, invented the Analytical Engine, a Turing Complete computer in 1837 - the first general purpose computer. Werner Heisenberg 1901 - 1976. A Lutheran with deep Christian convictions. One of the primary creators of quantum mechanics. Formulated the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. Humphry Davy 1778 - 1829. Said that God’s design was revealed by chemical investigations. Discovered the electrical nature of chemical bonding. Used electricity to split several substances into their basic building blocks for the first time, discovering chlorine and iodine; produced the first ever samples of the elements barium, boron, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and strontium. Other earlier scientists before 1900 who consider themselves committed Christians include: Leonhard Euler (1707 - 1783) Published more mathematics than any other single mathematician in history, much of it brilliant and groundbreaking. Michael Faraday (1791 - 1867) Discovered electromagnetic induction; discovered the first experimental link between light and magnetism James Clerk Maxwell (1831 - 1879) Transformed our understanding of nature: his famous equations unified the forces of electricity and magnetism, indicating that light is an electromagnetic wave. Gregor Mendel (1822 - 1884) Founded the science of genetics; identified many of the mathematical rules of heredity; identified recessive and dominant traits. Bernhard Riemann (1826 - 1866) Transformed geometry providing the foundation of Einstein’s theory of general relativity; the Riemann hypothesis has become the most famous unresolved problem in mathematics. Isaac Newton (1643 to 1727) spent more time on Bible study than math and physics. Profoundly changed our understanding of nature with his law of universal gravitation and his laws of motion; invented calculus; Willard Gibbs (1839 - 1903) Invented vector analysis and founded the sciences of modern statistical mechanics and chemical thermodynamics. John Dalton (1766 - 1844) Dalton’s Atomic Theory is the basis of chemistry; discovered Gay-Lussac’s Law relating temperature, volume, and pressure of gases; discovered the law of partial gas pressures. Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777 - 1855) believed science revealed the immortal human soul and that there is complete unity between science and God. His profound contributions to the physical sciences include Gauss’s Law & Gauss’s Law for Magnetism. Florence Nightingale (1820 - 1910) Transformed nursing into a respected profession; used statistics to analyze wider health outcomes; advocated sanitary reforms largely credited with adding 20 years to life expectancy between 1871 and 1935. Alessandro Volta (1745 - 1827) Invented the electric battery; wrote the first electromotive series; isolated methane for the first time. Blaise Pascal (1623 - 1662) Pascal’s wager justifies belief in God. Devised Pascal’s triangle for the binomial coefficients and co-founded probability theory. Invented the hydraulic press and the mechanical calculator. Samuel Morse (1791 - 1872) Took part in the invention of a single-wire telegraph and patented it. Developed the Morse code. William Thomson (also known as Lord Kelvin) (1824 - 1907) who Codified the first two laws of thermodynamics, deduced the absolute zero of temperature is -273.15 °C. and many more.. Dr Arno Penzias(Nobel Prize-winning astrophysicist): “I invite you to examine the snapshot provided by half a century’s worth of astrophysical data and see what the pieces of the universe actually look like…In order to achieve consistency with our observations we must…assume not only creation of matter and energy out of nothing, but creation of space and time as well. The best data we have are exactly what I would have predicted had I nothing to go on but the five books of Moses, the Psalms, the Bible as a whole.” Allan Rex Sandage (famous astronomer, dubbed the 'Grand Old Man of Cosmology' by the New York Times, and a former atheist): “It was my science that drove me to the conclusion that the world is much more complicated than can be explained by science. It was only through the supernatural that I could understand the mystery of existence.” To seek God with all our heart is fundamental to God’s revealing himself to us (Jer. 29:13). As the philosopher & famous pascal Blaise Pascal put it: Willing to appear openly to those who seek Him with all their heart, and to be hidden from those who flee from Him with all their heart, He so regulates the knowledge of Himself that He has given signs of Himself, visible to those who seek Him, and not to those who seek Him not. There is enough light for those who only desire to see, and enough obscurity for those who have a contrary disposition. And btw, the so called "Islamic Golden Age" nothing more a fraud. It was not Arabs, but the Persians, Indians, Greeks and Levantines-many of them non-Muslims-who rejuvenated and nurtured inte-llectual and material endeavors in the Muslim world. The translation of foreign manuscripts, which was central for the medieval Islamic worlds excellence, was already occurring in pre-Islamic Persia. And in the Muslim period, the translations-patronized by the Godless Umayyads and wayward persianized Abbasids-were done entirely by non-Muslim scholars, mostly Christians; none of the translators were Muslims. Given the prohibition of the Islamic theology to many of these endeavors, little credit should go to Islam for the medieval Muslim worlds excellence; it must go to the pre-Islamic civilizations that Islam had vio-lently appropriated and internalized" - from M.A. Khan' (a scholar, historian and a writer on Islamic history, culture, and religion, born to a Hyderabadi Muslim family) The reality is the Islamic world "inherited" knowledge of the land they conquered via violent mean which they like to claim as their own. And, it can be shown that the so called "Islamic Golden Age" lasted as soon as their conquest end in approx 14th century. If they are any merits to the Islamic scriptures, I would have expected a better showing from the Islamic world today.

Sure, we should assume the best... but we _do_ have reason to believe he would have reacted that way. Remember Muhammad Ali Pasha and his modernization of Egypt? The Ottomans were afraid that the Egyptians would either replace the House of Osman entirely, or declare full independence and place a puppet sultan to rule in Constantinople. So what did the Ottomans do? They called the Brits to help them preserve their realm (and the Brits obliged because a weak Ottoman state was a great buffer between them and Russia, and they didn't want to deal with a rising Muslim power). No matter how much the Neo-Ottomanists might disagree... the Ottomans were an empire just like any other. And so, they often focused on preserving their realm, even if it was detrimental to the overall condition of the Muslims. That's just the way it is. Because of this precedent, we can assume that the Ottomans would have feared a rising Muslim Japan too. To be clear, the Ottomans DID do a lot of good things. Allāh gave them dominion over most of the central Muslim lands, and gave them victory over the Crusaders. But we should remember that they cannot compete with the Rashidun Caliphs.

Masruq saw pictures on his terrace and said, “I heard ‘Abdullah saying that he heard the Prophet saying, “The people who will receive the severest punishment from Allah will be the picture makers.'” This hadith applies to everyone.
