I think a lot of don't understand how Nate really feels about this whole situation? yes he should have told Elena what he's been doing but that doesn't mean what he's doing is out of selfishness. He thought Sam was DEAD for fifteen years and has been trying to cope with it for years, tyring to move on, only to realize his brother is alive and well but on a strict time limit of finding forbidden treasure or else he dies.... again. Nate is not a dick, and I think Jack now understands this, but if not, please understand Nate and Sam are the only two family members to each other. They look out for each other, they have been through rough shit together and they have dealt with trauma since they were kids. They can't stand to lose each other and I don't find anything about that selfish.
