This show is weird. Very weird. I sat down to watch how an action/comedy dominates MAL and Anilist top 10's eight monts ago. After seeing the first episode I was wondering why it has so many 10/10's? Is it a mistake? Then the show very slowly became better and funnier... After 371 eps with everything, including movies and ovas and the final movie, I'm gonna straight up say: I expected a masterpiece in every single way, so I had very high expectations. Gintama surpassed that. It was something even more than I expected. If an anime nails just one type of emotion, I'm happy with that. I never expected that a comedy/parody evokes almost every emotion within me with brilliant characters and its own brand of humor. I felt sadness, sorrow, grief, anger, fear Then hope, love, serenity, inspiration, awe Then cheerfulness, amusement, joy, relief All of these presented as a coherent whole, everything feels so naturally. We're talking about a comedy anime where d*ck and poop jokes are everywhere. The thing is, Gintama knows that normally this would be the lowest form of humor. This is why it can surpass expectations. But enough of this, I liked your reaction and hope that you'll give this weird show a chance. Have a great day/night!
@@SenpaiDchan Thanks for the answer! Oh you haven't seen Jojo yet. If you don't have the time to do both simultaneously, then I would say Jojo would be better at first. At least catching up to Jojo P4, which is 63-64 eps, a much more friendly number than a monstrous 367. Jojo's weirdness is kinda the gateway to appreciating Gintama's weirdness. After Jojo, Gintama's strange comedy looks more appealing, this is because you start to see the creativity behind it, since you got used to Jojo. Objectively, Gintama is better, but that doesn't mean Jojo is bad in any way. It has that mass-appealing vibe, has a bigger viewership since Stone Ocean is thing and 3 times shorter than Gintama. From the first episode, the animation quality is much higher than at the start of Gintama. The first 200 eps have a 4:3 ratio. While Jojo part 1 is the worst part for the majority, that is 9 eps long. Gintama on the other hand, is infamously slowburn, this is its biggest fault. The first 50 eps are mostly episodic comedy and unskippable, because it establishes the world and the characters. Thats why while its rated as one of the best, actually, not many saw through the end. You can imagine how off-putting this for a normal viewer. If you still would like to go with Gintama, I'm sure it'll be one of your very favorite at the end and we'll be there, but I'll watch you even if you pick Jojo first since I love that aswell.
@@SenpaiDchan Jojo has not ended yet but gintama did so it is better to start with finished series I guess hehee. Its a rick and morty of anime so there a lot of silly ones.... hope you enjoy it!!! I cant wait... subscribed!!!😊
I loved your reaction, subscribed! I recently finished Gintama The Final and I'm still in shock, I believe I won't enjoy any anime more than this in the future. It is truly a masterpiece. I'm a 27 years old female by the way and I can be very picky about quality and characters. I hope you'll start the show one day, because as wild as it seems, it is just as funny, sad, tense, emotional, smart and heartwarming.

Of course that would be amazing, nowadays more and more reactors exploring Gintama because of those perfect reviews (this is how I found it a year ago), but its still 367 eps long, so its a serious commitment to not drop at an early point. Episode 3 is the start, the first two are bad fillers, don't bother with it. Until then, I'll kill time with your other reactions, keep up the work👍
As a side note, do not react to the top 10 Gintama fights. They are massive spoilers and one of them has a huge villain reveal. They even wrote down which episode is the actual fight. Your reaction will be much more precious at those points if you don't even know how those fights looks like and when they come.
