So nice to see a true tradesman making a decision to do a bit of extra for the benefit of the customer without any mention of additional charge. All because what was in place would make the new finish look shabby. Would love to hear how much work comes your way from the channel because anybody in your area of operation would just need to see a few posts and look to book you in.
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Well rightly so, what better reference than a customer can see your work as it happens. Thanks for your work, I must be sad, this sort of viewing pleases more than mainstream TV. Good luck going forward to you and Alex. Let me know if you want a busmans holiday down on the South coast, I need a small wall built😜
Another excellent job done and I’m sure your customer will be more than happy with what you have done in a day for them. Your workmanship is excellent, hope you get next Saturday off you deserve it. 👍👍👍👍
Good morning Steve & Alex, I don't know how people could say that you are not able to match bricks considering how much care to detail/pride you take. Brilliant as always and take care 👍👍👍
Good job as always dude. When me and my old man were tradesmen we always used the philosophy, build it as though it was your own. Always great to see we're not the only ones that go by that.
As others have mentioned, it is so refreshing to see someone who takes such pride in his profession! I am even considering sending the link to a builder who has made a total pigs ear of a similar job.
Great job once again Steve !. We have a couple of four brick stacked boiler flue bodge jobs on our estate. They look an absolute sight !. Even when the correct shade of bricks are used, you can still spot them from 50 yards away. If that was my house, it would annoy me every single time I walked by. It''s as if the door was never there, a true sign of a brilliant job !.
Great work the attention to detail is brilliant and fixing the other issues definitely finished the job off. Keep doing the videos always look forward to them 👍🏼🧱
Great stuff. Doing all those little extras impresses me the most. The issue is it’s a bit of a lottery when you employ someone for the first time. Wish they were all like you 👍
This one's a bonus 👍I'm in Morristown hospital being topped up so I'm glad of the company 🤣🤣I don't speak phillippino so there's nobody to talk to . another excellent job but it always is 👍
Another cracking video 👍the reason people love watching you guys is because it’s no frills bricklaying you show the game as it is proper “bread and butter” brickwork that 90 % of tradesman earn a living doing 🧱forget the numbnuts that give negative feedback it’s the easiest job in the world to slag off other people’s work “ fuck em”keep doing what your doing 👍👍
Thanks very much pal . We don’t claim to be anything special, fastest , neatest , cleverest , we are just an average father and son filming our day to day , no frills no bells no whistles exactly as you pit it . We are glad you get it pal , cheers 👌🏼🧱👍🏼😁
That always does my head in too were the boiler installer uses any brick happens to find. Top job guys from not your average builder 👈( for you Alex) lol
Yep, I had to make a 160 mile round trip to source some bricks a few months ago as no local merchants had them and could not find anyone who would deliver less than a full pack and I only needed a few for bricking up.
Another professional job. When anyone asks S&A to do a job they know it will be quality workmanship. By the way Steve why did you put 2 pieces of the black plastic that I think is for damp proof across the bottom of the doorway ?
Nice job Steve nice to see a good bricklayer know what he's doing great match keep up the good work mate with the bricks much better when you have help as always the job will take longer keep up the good work mate
Good job! I had a go at laying blocks, my finger tips took a caining! I've learnt the hard way to always wear gloves with cement!! I think I'd always get a pro where it's visible work!!
I bet you wished you’d had that sabre saw before now. Great work guys look forward to your vids. Great vid production as ever and BANGIN tuuuuuneeesssss
You’re a top brickie. Plenty of knowledge and a good work method Really enjoy watching and listening to you work Very pleasing to see a good top tradesman. Thank you I’m just a d I y errrrrr still learning from top people like you. Thank you thank you
Eey did an extension with them bricks few months back, house we toothed into had those rolled tops were at the top, was a pain with the line. Loving your scaffolding setup 👌👌😉 perfect brick match mate, bit of weathering and it'll be spot on buddy! That's a mint job mate, loving the catflap mate..also what a shift👌🤣 Keep at it lads🔥👍👍👍
Great job Steve a great brick match and well done for sorting the plumbers grenade brickwork 🧱 a master class in fully insulated cat flap 👌and was that a dinger you were using for pointing not like you to not have the marshalltown ?
Great job pal. always good to see someone taking pride in their work. Good old Firwoods always there to let you down when they haven't got any stock.. You should try getting timber from them. there is nothing on their yards. well the Burscough and Upholland branches anyway
Looks nice a tidy job that Steve, I'm sure people don't appriciate how much effort goes in to these relatively small jobs. Standard Brickwork for a plumber that where they've used a catapult instead of a trowel.
Great job Steve you take pride in you work. What saw did you use to cut the bricks. It didn’t look like an angle grinder, much neater and less mess. Thanks.
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I caught your last video when you announced it. What a fabulous opportunity to work with a great bunch. You & Al will fit in really well 👍👍 Regards Tim
Nice job Steve bollocks to the haters wat they don't realise is the bricks that's already ther has been ther prob 70 yrs plus and ther weathered the ones u get are the same but new ignore the idiots
I can see how matching bricks isn't easy, takes experience, matching brand new bricks to ones several decades old, knowing how new bricks will weather and change over time and what may seem different will eventually blend in perfectly in a few years. Everyone's a critic, but try doing it! 😊👍
Nice job mate. we built a pub with these bricks many years ago when i worked for sir alfred Mc alpine we layed them with roll on top another gang started laying them roll on bottom so the brikie forman got reps out and they said roll on top is the right way the other gang werent happy
Nice looking match as always, nice to see you going the extra mile to clean up a messy repair… 👍 I was wondering what is the blade that you use on your reciprocating saw? I have a little job to do and thought maybe it could do the trick instead of making up a dust storm with a grinder…?
Nice job Steve. I think the bricks match perfectly, the new ones will weather in time to look exactly the same as the older ones. I was getting worried for the cat as it was circling in the background wondering why its cat flap was laying up against the fence??
You see so many old boiler flus bricked up like that, usually the plumber did it himself, so it's ok for them to charge top dollar for their work, but when it comes to paying a brickie to make a good job of it, they botch it up themselves to save a few quid...
@@SteveAndAlexBuild I am used to the brick being a screen, keeping out most of the rain, but rain will get through eventually. When it does, it hits a waterproof layer inside the cavity between the brick and the block or structure behind the brick. The water in the cavity is allowed to drain to the bottom by gravity, then escape back to the outside through weep holes or drains at the bottom of the wall. We call it a cavity wall or a screen wall system. Your wall is clearly not built that way, and you don't live-in a desert, so I wonder how your walls manage water getting behind the brick.
@@justmyopinion99 A good quality mason wall won’t let much water in , if any does penetrate the cavity is there to protect the inner leaf . Standard building practice in the uk for many years. 🧱👍🏽
