The fact that the actual David Copperfield loved the battle is really great. Although he thought that Houdini had better rap skills than he did.

The rest of the ERB's haven't aged as well as the others, since they were really figuring it out still, so adjust your expectations accordingly.

Clearly, Chris Angel won that rap battle. He is probably the best rapper they've ever had on here, maybe 2nd only to Pompey.

Lox on a bagel is a Jewish dish which consists of raw salmon and cream cheese on an everything bagel. Houdini escapes locks for a living, and he's saying Copperfield couldnt even handle the lox (locks) on his bagel

John Lennon Vs Bill O'Reilly next. Clearly very outdated but still memorable.

I love how Scru is so supportive towards the people losing sometimes. Like "man you got mad flow, after this you could get a label, dude... but you're getting your ass whooped."

You missed a huge punch (no pun intended) from Copperfield’s last line. It’s unknown if it 100% actually happened but one of Houdini’s most famous moments was his death and how it happened. It happened on Halloween, he was chilling when a fan came up to him and asked Houdini if it was true he could take a punch to the abdomen (Houdini bragged it about several times on stage). Houdini said it was true and was gonna let the fan try for himself so he could see but the problem was that Houdini had to brace himself and prepare his abdomen to take the punch and the fan punched him hard in the abdomen several times before Houdini got the chance to get ready. He brushed it off at first and continued with his day but those punches ended up rupturing his appendix and he died afterwards. Copperfield turned that incident against Houdini by inviting Houdini to a Halloween (day it happened) brunch where he’ll get served a deep fried sucker (because Houdini got sucker punched since he wasn’t prepared) and a side of punch (play on words of fruit punch and the punch(es) that ended up killing him). That line deserves a Don Demarco imo.

I do like that "can't hide shame with a camera angle line" belittling Copperfield's magic skills and methods. Also I wonder what Scru would make do with the Bruce Jenner vs Banner erb, its a controversial one but curious on his thoughts

That last line: “I’ll summon up a little Halloween brunch: deep fried sucker with a side of punch” hits hard (no pun intended) if you know Houdini died on Halloween from a sucker punch to the abdomen, causing internal bleeding that led to him drowning during his milk jug escape routine.

Houdini’s second verse is basically calling copperfield fake with a sick build up

"Lox on my bagels that you couldn't handle" is a flip on "locks" and Houdini being an escape artist. He's saying Copperfield can't even handle lox, let alone the sort of locks Houdini escaped from. A knock on Copperfield's skill. In fact his whole second verse is shitting on Copperfield's act and skills, culminating in one of my favourite lines "You can't hide shame with a camera angle", because of how a lot of magic made for TV hides the "secret" moves with camera angles that just wouldn't work in real life.

This battle was alright but can we give that beat love though!?!? The anticipation drops along with the heartbeat reader and the flatline in the middle was phenomenally orchestrated.

I like this battle a lot because for them it feels very experimental writing wise. The rhyme schemes and flow are constantly changing. It's mind bending. Perfectly apt for a battle of magicians

Copperfield's last line hits hard, cus the thing that killed Houdini eventually was a punch to the gut after saying he could endure it. He passed away several days later on October 31st, hence the Halloween brunch. Ngl, I believe you only have 2 ERBs to go, Banner vs Jenner and Lennon vs O'Reilly. After that, you should definitely hit up more Freshy Kanal, he has been popping off AND he's almost at 100k. I recommend Kirby vs Very Hungry Caterpillar

I agree that between Lloyd's off-kilter flow and Peter's whispery delivery, this is a tough one to listen to, but it's chock-full of good references. I think you've only got 2 left so I'd go with the Bruce Battle first and finish with the very 1st ERB, Lennon vs. O'Reilly. Also, the way that Criss Angel showed up and just got instantly dismissed KILLED me!

Houdinis beat came like it was swagging. Ignoring the words just the pacing of his patter was like a sly pace that I liked listening to. His tone of voice was just putting david down with every word even if his actual words werent the best. Copperfields last verse was a deep cut if you understand the references. Houdini spent a lot of his time disproving the psychic mediums and their ghost acts, and the side of punch is a reference to how he died. The story went, Houdini got sucker punched by a kid and it basically ruptured his appendix.

I took Houdini, because they are showman, and he gave the better show, his flow and rapping were undeniably better.

Banner vs Jenner was kinda one of those oddball experimental erbs that didn't really work that well imo. Mr Bean vs Charlie Chaplin though not done by ERB is an absolute banger and was vicious at times.

Love all of the videos I have seen so far, so I have one suggestion and that is for you to revisit your current favorite. It would be really nice to see you take a deep dive and break down your favorite erb so far.

I'm a bit drunk. There is a moment when everything kinda aligns, and this video from Scru is apart of it. Its a small moment in time, but man I love this video. I love your videos man, drunk or sober.

Legit, we have no idea what's left. A lot of the battles left are either forgettable or plain bad. I'd totally be down for rewatching some of the ones you did before. Opinions have changed, who knows.

Houdinis first verse has to be one of the best verses they've made. You may have missed some of the meanings in it "You couldn't escape from a flash paper bag" Flash paper is special paper that's used by magicians to make flames/flashes. He's basically saying that he couldn't escape the flash of his effects where as Houdini did actual escape artistry. "So abracadavra you billowy bitch" basically saying he's full of nothing while also making fun of his very loose fitting shirt. I may be reaching but that's sleep deprivation

I imagine you get the rest, like locking up Houdini's gear (Houdini is an escape artist). Plus other people in the comments mention the way Houdini died being tied to Copperfield's last bars. Copperfield slaughtered Houdini in this one. Also, I know you don't like the whispery flow, but re-listen to this one without pausing off-vid man and listen to how dude rides the beat, it's definitely smooth.

This is the first one of these battles I’ve seen. That Chinese wall line cracked Houdini, especially since Copperfield actually had that as one of his famous tricks!

I had some suggestions but you already did all of my favorites! You even did the Lego Minecraft rap battle I was going to suggest! My only other suggestion is the Epic Pixel Battle rap battles between Professor Layton and L from Deathnote, and Totally Spies vs the Powerpuff Girls. Albeit those are in French, subtitled in English.
