I have seen that exact foreign “mystery” body in practice before. It turns out the patient worked in a bakery and was exposed to high levels of flour dust . The flour dust builds up slowly in the ear canal (especially when it’s naturally moist) and produces that exact texture

Maybe it's fuzz (?) from a scarf or ear muffs that made its way in there with the help of a push from a cotton bud?

I'm fairly certain the fibers are from ear muffs. One of my kids had a similar wax plug and when the pediatrician removed it we noticed that the fibers in it were the same color as her winter ear muffs she was wearing

You guys are great at what you do, I recently had blocked ears, first time in my 64 years of life and I ended up going to my Dr to have them checked and he told me to get these ear drops and once I put the drops in, I couldn’t hear anything, it was quite scary because he didn’t explain that to me and I had an appointment 3 days later for him to irrigate my ears out, he or should I say his nurse did the procedure and it took her almost an hour of flushing out my ears, she still couldn’t get all the wax out and I have an appointment next month to see an ENT specialist and hopefully he has one of those gadgets that suck the wax out, it didn’t hurt but it was a weird experience and she had to stop because she was using too much water flushing out my ears, now I understand what some of these people go through and it has nothing to do with cleanliness or a persons hygiene because I’m a very clean person and this was the first time I’ve ever had something like this happen to me, I appreciate everything you guys do to help your patients. Cheers from Australia ❤️❤️

I think the fibers in the mystery plug are fibers from a fuzzy scarf maybe or I wonder if they use a sewing machine either for their job or a hobby. There is a unique “dust” that builds up on a sewing machine especially after working with fleece or cotton fabrics. That could account for the unique colored threads.

The last one looks like something my brother had in his ear when he was little. He had a pice of a blanket stuck in it. The blanket had little pills like sweaters get on them and one of the larger ones came off in his sleep and ended in his ear. Looked just like that last plug.

Here's another use for olive oil!! My cat came in at 5.30 on a Saturday afternoon with a serious cut on her paw!! The vets closed at 5, so I was in a panic as to what to do!?!?, so I phoned 'The Oracle', my mother, for advice. Clean it under lukewarm water to clean it, pat excess water off and rub in Olive Oil!! I was like eh???, explanation was, Smudge my cat wouldn't like the feel of the oil, so she'll spend the weekend licking it off!!, which she did. I couldn't believe it on the Monday morning it was clean and nearly healed. 😂😂😂 Well done to my Mother. 😁👏😁👏😁

I went to my family Dr. earache, and his partner was there. He was so mean said my ears were filthy and rammed a thing down in my ear, said I was full of wax-don’t you ever clean your ears? I was only 19, and yes I clean my ears. That Dr hurt me so bad. I am 70 and have never went to Dr when I had an earache since. I would just tell them I had a toothache and they gave me antibiotics. I want to get my ears cleaned, but I don’t know where to go. At my age all they want to do is give me hearing aids.
