Of course her face is redder afterward because they did extractions, lymphatic drainage, microdermabrasion, and gua sha. The “oiliness” people are complaining about is just how you look after a facial - extra moisturized, plus a thick layer of sunscreen to protect your fresh skin. As a dermatologist I can say that her skin looks WAY better. Hydrated, replenished, and the dullness is completely gone. I would expect her to look her best 24-48 hours post-facial. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
Clan Toriador People have different skin thicknesses, so she is referring to the physical thickness of her skin. For example, some people tend to have thicker more sebaceous/oily skin, which is what Biba was referring to.
Hello I’m currently 16 and want to become a dermatologist I don’t consider myself to be smart and am worried it will take to long to become a dermatologist, do you have any advice
Insider, you should film the after clips a day or more after the treatment because such treatments often make your skin red which subdues after time. The full result isn't as visible right after.
@@henrikvestad not in the after clip. You can see that her skin looks the same as it did right after the treatment. If you see the outro you can get a better idea of how the treatment was as the redness is gone. But it seems that she is wearing light makeup in that.

Are you people blind? Yes her face was pink and shiny after, but pay attention to her cheek bones, jawline, and orbital bones. They're significantly less puffy and alot more contoured which was the purpouse of the facial.
Remember when asked how they maintain their skin celebrities are quick to reply "by drinking lots of water." Ya , didn't know their water costs 300 dollars.
Lmao 😂 so true drinking water !!! That’s the biggest joke!!! They spend millions on there face and when interviewed they say drinking water !!! Hahahah
Yup. Like we humans arent like becoming more stupid. Concentrating more on looks than other things. Modern beauty standards are ridiculus. U need more time for maintaining looks rather than other things. Its like ok for sone extent if u r trying to l take care of urself. But it just pushing the world just want ti be perfect all the time.
Lol I’ve been an aesthetician for 8 years and finally make just $7/hrly above the hourly minimum wage.. she’s not taking that money home trust me. Most aestheticians rely on tips if the owner allows it.
you can go to your doctor he gives you a cream that will take care of acne in one week max and it costs nothing...this woman is a quack nothing but fancy looking tools that don't do anything but look fancy. like apple product consumers, apple is proven to be the worst choice on many levels but superficial people buy appleproducts because it's a status thing because it's expensive not that they actually make solid products.
Smol Fluff no she doesn’t. What she looked like after the facial was completely normal as she did have extractions done and more products to help he hydrated skin so her skin did look more oily. To judge that her skin looks worse from the after picture is honestly so pointless since the after pictures make you look bad because you’ve just had a bunch of products on your face. Idk if you’ve ever been for a facial but on the ones I’ve had I’ve always seen better results a day after the facial rather than immediately after it.
1:10 I hated watching the esthetician moved her hair and touch customer's skin without any hesitate... That's $450 are you kidding me???? Things like this is not acceptable in Asia like Korea and Japan but I guess there are a cultural difference...?
She was so sweet. I’m an esthetician and I get a lot of compliments on how I word things. I loved the part where she said “it’s a pleasure to work with people who care about their skin”.
as a licensed esthetician I can say two things about this. she said that her skin barrier was compromised but insisted on using at least two or three exfoliation methods in one treatment. In my professional opinion she used too many procedures regardless. Also Lymphatic drainage is nice but going below the eyebrow/into the eyelid is dangerous and watching it made me cringe. I mean look if she’s doing celebrity facials with this treatment, a lot of us esthetician’s need to get out to Hollywood and show them what’s really up lmao.
This is kind of similar of what I perform on my patients, except the extractions are not done manually or using metal instruments on my patients because this type of technique breaks down collagen, instead I used an oxygenation machine that remove impurities such a blackheads, pimples etc..together with ozone treatments..I have done this type of facials on my patients and on myself for over 20 years using high grade Bio-Active medical grade equipment..The massaging techniques that this woman performs on her client is not practical or beneficial for the facial muscles because it could cause deformities on facial muscles, also the vacuum machine should never be used on the upper or lower areas of the eyes..Also if the skin barrier of the client is compromised, this type of facial was not a proper treatment for this client..it is an OBSERVATION!
Biba is seriously one of the best in LA. Also the facials where you leave a bit more red and where extraction marks are are the ones that give the best results within a week. I’ve seen clients that go to biba and their skin overtime looks amazing.
One error is she didn’t sanitize a lot !!! After touching the lamp and omg 😩 I’m studying to get my license now so seeing this I’m shook about that lol
Ditto. That warning was so annoying and pointless. I've seen puss-filled boil extractions done in a person's backyard. The amount of cottage cheese looking crap that oozed outta that growth looked like it would keep a salad bar stocked for a week!
Its for people who dont like these types of graphic content. Just say you wanna look quirky and "different from other people" and go. The statement you did seems selfish as hell.
@@ChillFrost yeah and lol u sound so cool and so different from everyone because you watch a lot of graphic content!!1!1!!1!1!1!1! So amazing of you!1!1!1!1!1Totally deserve a reward!!! Wow!!!1!1!!1!1!1!1!
I just don't understand how can person who works their whole life on skins and actually knows a lot of things about it still belive that you can remove toxins from the skin?
One thing that is true is that oily skin is often mistaken for being not sensitive and able to take a lot of punishment. A lot of guys have thicker oilier skin compared to women, so they can take a bit more exfoliation. But it is the truth that oily skin does need some gentleness and love and not stripping and heavy exfoliation. I don't know about the rest of these claims and techniques though, specifically gua sha and microcurrents in this matter. It seems to mak some sense. Has anyone checked the primary literature on this?
PrettyH8Mach1n3 omg tell me about !! Salicylic acid burns my face and it seems to be the only active ingredient for all of the products for an oily face🙁
You are correct. Collagen in any form cannot be absorbed through the skin. Their best bet is to use 0.5%-0.1% prescription tretinoin everyday for a minimum of one year since it’s proven to increase collagen production by up to 80% in a matter of 12 months. Great for acne too, but it’s some strong stuff. I came to the conclusion that I’d rather pay $90 every 3 months for my tretinoin than to pay hundreds on facials that don’t offer life changing results in the long run, expensive anti-aging creams that won’t work anywhere nearly as good as prescription cream, or botox/fillers since all fillers are very noticeable no matter how little is injected.
“I don’t know beforehand what I’m going to do, each step reveals something else I can do” code for “I’m going to do everything and charge you as much as possible”
Oh nice she’s got gloves on and she just touches and throws back her hair at the start there. Girl be professional- use a hair tie! People paying actual money for this 😂
Kenpachi Zaraki first of all shout out to your name and icon. I loved Bleach back in college (forever ago) And I’m more bothered at the lack of professionalism and cleanliness - it’s basic hygiene and you aren’t only paying for the high end products used - you’re paying for the service and hygiene provided by the facial therapist. Fair enough she did tie her hair back in the end - but putting gloves on and then touching your own hair before touching someone else’s skin in a facial is pointless, not to mention rather unpleasant and unhygienic- even if she had the cleanest hair going. It’s just basic “do-not-do” practice in the dermatology world...as well as many other professions.
w i l d f l x w r r exactly my point - she’s working on someone’s face and she touches her own hair and then proceeds to touch the clients face. You do get taught about sanitary standards when in the cosmetic industry.
Jenna T It’s the wording. Toxins aren’t “stored” above our eyebrows. The liver has most of the toxins in our body. And lymph nodes store “toxins,” and there are no lymph nodes above the eyes, only vessels. If you’ve ever gotten a certain vaccine, your armpits might’ve gotten a bit swollen; there’s a reason why that happens. Paying hundreds of dollars to get pressure on your face and micro-currents only changes your bank account. What do you get out of protecting lies or misinformation?
Jo Leh They are always circulating unless something goes wrong. Paying hundreds of dollars is not worth it when you can just massage your own face or ask a friend to do it for you. Y’all are being ludicrous.
Celestial Zephyr perhaps if you paid attention to the whole video, you would realise that “applying pressure” forms part of the whole facial process. It’s not as if all your money is going towards that alone. “Protecting lies and misinformation” HAHA pls chill
Jenna T But at the end of the day it’s a scam because if they was about health, all you needed to do is steam your face, scrub your face, moisturize your face, use SPF, and massage your face. All of this glim-glam is nonsense. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars a year to have decent skin.
She got a few pimples after the facial. The shine after the treatment could've been achieved by a simple routine with a good moisturiser. Not worth the money, IMO.
Look up purging, often skin will react right after deep exfoliation, etc. NOT because the treatment “made you break out” but because it’s a natural reaction, doesn’t mean the facial was bad for the skin
I am also but I dont think it's too many services, none of them were too agressive, she didnt add too many products, I think in my opinion it's fine. I do think she should of tied her hair back though and also the mention of toxins in the eyebrows is lie but whatever. Otherwise it was good . Worth the price, the q tip device in itself would be alot of money , I was trained in that device, it's been awhile and I cant remember the name though.
I had microdermabrasion for the first time this week and the results were amazing. I also had an acne facial in that season with a facial massage. I live in the Turks & Caicos and my Easthetician only charged me $80 which is a steal I know. I do recommend.
I want a full body microdermabrasion! I have only seen it as a service on a ship. Nothing main land. A body scrub is the closest thing or going to a Korean spa.
I like how she was feeling so many things, but Biba just said, "the ONLY purpose of this is to exfoliate" Just shows how genuine she is by being very honest to her clients
No one in their 30's and 40's works at these companies. That's one of the problems. Ageism. If they did have people over 30 working there, would those employees create content that resonated with the people that actually watched videos on RU-vid?
Yes, I prefer this kind of treatment rather than spending $200 a jar on an expensive anti-aging product. The pricelist on my local beauty clinic, certified physician/dermatologist (I live in Jakarta, Indonesia): - Microdermabration $25 - Ozone treatment (equal to ultrasonic spatula) $10 - Microcurrent contouring ~$25 - Diamond Microdermabration (equal to the suction procedure) $30 - skin massage, extraction, collagen mask $20 (don't have that gua sha thing) Total bill $110. I've tried everything except for the contouring. Usually you don't have everything in one go. It's better to do 1-2 treatment several times, probs 3-6x for better & more permanent results. And you don't want go to red carpet the day after this treatment! Probably better after 2-3 days!
I love how insider chose a plain Jane with regular breakouts and skin problems and not a model who already has perfect glass skin and gets treatments. Big ups for authenticity yall!
I like the aesthetician as she doesn’t care about specific tools or techniques, instead she focuses more on each individual’s skin concerns and she uses different treatment per for each phase as skin reveals its need 💪🏻 I wouldn’t mind to pay more than $450 for her as long as i get the care that my skin deserves
I have been suing BIBA's products for over 2 months now to treat my acne and honestly , these are the best products I have ever used in my life. My skin has never felt this soft and clear before.
This is way too extreme for one time skin care her face look 👀 bad after.. red way too red she had combination skin obviously all she needed is two step face wash, steam, extraction and face mask, lock the hydration with a mild moisturizer 🧴 something with mugwort since she have pimples here and there. It would’ve cost her way too less. Man those people charge way too much. Not worth it.
Kali D Wanlab face steamer from Amazon it cost 21$ and it come with face extraction tools it’s really safe and easy to use at home. Make sure to steam your face once a week. (extract the black head only don’t go too hard you don’t need to scar your skin use mild strength) You need to wash your face before the extraction with two step. First the oil base (you can try Kose they are very affordable product cost 9$ and it won’t break up your skin) Second water base face wash. Krave beauty is the best one so far you can buy it from their website. But off course you can try CeraVe hydration face wash it’s really great. After the extraction use sheet mask anyone you have something gentle, stay away from acid after extraction. Then lock your skin with your favorite moisturizer. Do it every weekend. 😊
@@kali697 a pot of water with some apple cider vinegar, like Braggs. Bring to a boil. Lean your face over the pot with a towel laying over your head to keep the steam in. Does wonders and is good for sinus infections and chest colds.
I have had some "celebrities" but never disclose that information. I treat each client the same.. and I wouldn't disclose information on any of my clients without their approval
But... how do you break MOLECULES of water into smaller water. Is she literally turning water into hydrogen and oxygen? Why would you need to break water so the skin accepts it more? Also I think cavitation means something else. Also what is she draining lymph of? Where is this stuff being drained into? I am very confused.
I feel like she should try Aivee Clinic or Belo Clinic. Legit dermatologists can take care of your skin. Plus, I'm bothered that the woman who does the facial DID NOT tie her hair. ew.
When I saw her doing that procedure I was wondering if she was doing it right. I had never heard of gua sha before this video, but it just seemed very specific to the Chinese culture. Like you need to be trained in it instead of picking up the applicator and going for it. I hope that was properly trained.
I always find it weird when people talk about the benefits of yaddayadda to be "lymph/blood circulation". Like. Lymph fluid and blood are supposed to be circulating if you're a healthy individual? Your body has mechanisms of their own to keep them moving. Lymph fluid and blood is not gonna be stagnant, if not something is really wrong.
It’s interesting her favourite of all from this expensive treatment was facial hand massage that does not require any special machines or devices. You could do that at home on your own literally.
I love watching these vids and my comment has nothing to do with it. I just want to inform you: "extracting" sebaceus filaments are a big NO! I have mistaken my sebaceus filaments as blackheads and extracting them damaged the skin and made my pores larger! Don't let that happen to you! If you see something on your skin consult with a professional ( who is really a professional) and never do extractions on your face at home, unless you are a professional! You can RUIN your skin! Look it up! There are difference between blackheads and sebaceus filaments.
Top dollar customization should positively affect a variety of facets in customer skin care, and life. Impressed by the estheticians ease and almost poetic descriptions of application, treatment, and product knowledge. 💛💙❤️
I got confused when the esthetician said that “it’s not like suction or abrasion” but the process she’s doing is named “Micro Derm-Abrasion”? I don’t know
Bongo Man Mewing works, its just tedious. And definitely don’t press your tongue against your teeth! That’s the poor tongue posture that mewing tries to reverse/prevent. It causes recessed jaws. (Also, don’t mouth breathe. My boyfriend sleeps with his mouth open and I’ve slowly been correcting him through the night to break the habit.)
she looks like a good aesthetician as she explains everything in detail - generous with knowledge. Just that she is not using a mask, and she used her gloved hands to flip back her hair.
