The ‘Grimace Shake’ Situation was Unhinged 

As a summer camp counselor who was working with 9-12 year olds during this whole Grimace shake trend, I can confirm there are indeed kiddos latching onto it. I've had kids both from my group and the younger group either explaining the concept to me, or asking me if the Grimace shake would really kill them.

My personal takeaway is that Grimmace is such a party monster, when you drink his shake, he arrives, and party's so hard, nobody survives. The human body isn't made to party like a Grimmace.

McDonald's employee... it's mixed berry flavor, but our shakes are flavors pumped into our vanilla soft serve base, so there's always that vanilla undertone :]

As someone who is a part of a post-apocalyptic zombie survival horror LARP, I really wish I'd known about this trend when it first came out. I'm just finding out about it now. It would have been so fun to get my LARPing friends in on this

The shake has two different flavors. If you drink it by itself, it tastes like a vanilla shake. If you drink it after eating a fry, it’s tastes like berries. I guess it reacts with the saltiness of fries.

Flavor: Blueberry Muffin (I was told by my mom’s friend who manages at a McDonalds that the flavor it Blueberry Muffin but that her daughter thinks it taste raspberry)

i first learned about the grimace shake when i messaged on discord that i wanted a milkshake and someone responded “DON’T DO IT! DON’T GET THE GRIMACE SHAKE”. i wasn’t even at mcdonald’s. i ended up getting a chocolate shake so i was safe from grimace

The grimace shake was actually really good. It has a somewhat berry flavor but was overall just sweet.

The grimace shake tastes like if a blueberry shake died, and you resurrected it, but it didn't come back quite right. The flavor is thick? And sticks to your tongue. So it's like getting slapped repeatedly by something that keeps insisting its a fruit, but you aren't too sure it's telling the truth.

Oh lets be clear, this is an absolute DREAM for advertisers- this is like, best case scenario in so many ways. Its a trend, everyone is seeing it, and the trend is not one thats gonna get people hurt, and the trauma that one kid experienced is gonna leave him thinking of McDonnalds forever :P

I tried it and it was really sweet (depends on the amount of syrup, obviously) and it tasted like blueberry pancake mix to me. I liked it better frozen though. i did the trend but i only shared it to friends so im dead but nobody knows.

I'm really bummed that I haven't seen any tiktoks expanding on the possible meta here. Like, why is Grimace coming to kill these people? Is McDonald's using it to target people, or was Grimace taken advantage of in some way (or was he literally used...) to make the shakes so he's taking revenge? Or is there something really twisted happening to people who drink it and Grimace and his minions are killing people to protect the populace? So many options!
