omg yes i freaking hate MLM and idk if you know about Prowin its also an MLM based company and it drives me freaking nuts i live in the state of germany where it is based and literally everyone has atleast one Prowin product at home They do cleaning products (wich most of them are literally just Sodiumbicarbonate) but they are hella expensive for what they are and the electric products or spray bottles are just aliexpress products that cost 5€ but they sell for 150€ i think its worse than thermomix as thermomix is actually a somewhat well built product you cant get else where mostly prowin just aint it chief
and everytime i point out prowins terrible marketing scheeme everyone goes like but their products are so great and when i host a prowin party i get discounts on the products i buy AHH
I had a friend who was OBSESSED with her Thermomix, to the point where entire conversations with her revolved around Thermomix Facebook group drama. She tried to sell me one, and decided to demonstrate how amazing it was by "making" icing sugar in it. It went about as well as you'd think blending half a kilo of sugar would go. Needless to say, I did not make an order. She was also a member of three other MLMs, so that should tell you a lot about her.
I just looked at facebook marketplace in Belgium and in a radius of 100 km I found 100 second hand thermomixes between 200 and 550 euros. So if you want to find out if you like the thermomix, I would definitely buy a used one. On the other hand, I found it allarming that soo many of these things are on offer. A lot of purchase regrets here.
My mom only bouth the thermomix after knowing that it was made by Vorwerk, we still have a Vorwerk vaccum cleaner thats old as f, like 30-35 years old with all the accesories and its work perfectly, we bought a new one by another for my brother and in three years it broke completly. Is not the Thermomix that having the cult is Vorwerk, because they are that good, at least that its what I have always seen. Also, for making bread, pizzas, and other doughs the machine is amazing, also soups, and stews and sauces. For all liquid stuff is the best, also its easy to clean so at least for me I don't really see a problem, if you have the money and you really like to cook its worthy.
If a sorbet can be described as "ridiculous", it's definitely not sorbet. Does this product just quietly inject a little bit of MDMA into all food or something?
Ngl I was interested for a second because it sounds like me with the Instant Pot except I don't think it does everything, but the things it does do is so amazing that I end up telling all my fam about it xD
Nerd is an overused term, you need to also attach a secondary term to it for example “halo nerd”, “D&D nerd”, “law nerd”, engineer nerd”, or “Star Wars nerd”
12:24 I swear to god I stayed over at either THIS EXACT HOUSE, or one nearly identical in Chilliwack, BC, Canada. The little room was a tiny TV/guest room.
I am a huge fan of the Instant Pot. I HIGHLY recommend it. But it's just an electric pressure cooker. There are other brands that do pretty much the same thing. Sure I will sing the praises of the Instant Pot. But I don't sell them. It's just a handy kitchen appliance that I use on a regular basis. It's not crazy expensive and it doesn't require a subscription for recipes. There are loads of free Instant Pot recipes on the internet. I get being a fan of a kitchen appliance. But these Thermomix people take it to the next level.
Instant Pot recipes are free online, and many are hosted by the IP website. They're comparable with competitor's electric pressure cookers. Adaquate products don't need MLM gimmicks.
How did my mom make all those stews, chili, bread, cinnamon rolls, soufflés, fudge, pot roasts, cookies, soups, mayonnaise, ice cream, merengue, crepes, apple pie… without a Thermomix? Life was rough for my mom. I don’t know how she raised 4 kids, stayed happily married for 65 years with no Thermomix.
How to Cook That did a video on them and showed how they work, it seems they're more a device for a commercial kitchen because they can make large quantities with little effort required but that isn't much of an advantage in a normal kitchen.
My godfather owns one and I've used it a few times and it cooks food aight. I personally would never buy one, I would rather learn how to make the food myself.
We have a Thermomix at home and can't remember that we are in a cult or even speak to someone about it or trying to sell one to someone! If you want to become a salesmen/women than you can become one, but it's not necessarily if you just want to buy a thermomix.
My mom has it. Its great. We dont have space for 3 different machines. It makes cooking just efortlesly easy. You say dont sopend so much on cooking if you don like it. Well do you like doing dishes? No? But how much is your dishwasher huh?
I saw a woman trying to sell this at a yard sale. The conversation ended after i tried to escape the Android shell imterface on the touchscreen and asked "how many house payments" it cost. Its got everything i love. Pushy MLM, Internet of Shit, Subscription Services, and cooking!. Im running away with the fierceness.
Thermomix is Vorwerk, Vorwerk products have cult-like communities, but the devices are extremely well built (and over-engineered), and they offer excellent support. Or used to, it's been a while - they've been around for ages. I knew a couple people who had Thermomix units and loved them, but they were mostly used to make various fruit preserves (I believe that's what they were originally designed for) and sauces. And that makes a lot of sense to me. That stuff can be done pretty much entirely in the machine, and it's easy and convenient enough so users were motivated to experiment. Just make a small batch, test it, change ratios and ingredients until you come up with a cool recipe, then make a few glasses of your favourites, or make custom recipes as gifts.
Why is everyone so picky lol. And maybe this is me being too American, but there's really nothing with imported goods. There's aisles just for imported stuff in every grocery store I go to.
That mozzarella is bomb. We call it the bomb because it is a little bomb. I am convinced these people are all used to hard mozzarella, probably blocks that are needing to be grated or come pre-grated in bags, which is the WORST way to have cheese.
Thermomix has a giant fan base here in Germany (were it's produced so tariffs and taxes makes it more expensive as it already is) and it is borderline cult like. I should know, I own one. But leave it to the US to take it one step further... So you ask for who is it for and I can answer that because those are the reason why I bought one. It is a immens time and space saver. I lived in a tiny flat with a 1,3 m kitchen bench. No stove, no dishwasher just a oven and sink. The amount of tools it can replace while still doing an adequate job would've never been able to fit otherwise. It has enough functionality that you can do full meals in one go with clever planning to do a lot of stuff in parallel. Anything fried is not possible but steamed food can be very good too if you know what you are doing.
10:14 - I wonder if anyone has ever texted in their sleep, and, if so, I wonder if the text was at all intelligable. (sp?) 14:00 - In the word "dumbass" the "b" is silent. Or did I just not get the joke?
