Buys you some sort of satisfaction, hardly ever will it actually make you “happy”. Coming from someone who has $347K in his account.. and that’s not even a lot
1000hp is really like an orgasm,it makes you say some weird stuff and make promises to her you don't remember later. But like a 1000hp it feels sooooo gggoooddd.
I have been watching Matt F the host for couple of years now on multiple different shows. His way of reviewing the cars has changed and got way better. Keep up the good work.
they are very similar products, he was just saying it says volumes about Switzer as a company because they were willing to work on maintaining, servicing, and repairing an AMS tuned car.
I just drove the 2013 GT500, and there was a lot more I could ask for. Like a real set of brakes and a chassis that didn't take a hop a foot to the side after hitting the smallest of bumps.
Kenshin Himura plain v8 vs twin turbo??? cylinders and engine size hardly have anything to do with power these days almost any engine can be made to put down crazy numbers ive seen 1000+ hp 4 cylinder engines explain that
Kenshin Himura In physical bulk it's bigger than any American V8 in production today. More moving parts too by far, even without counting the turbos and intercoolers. However, what does a GT-R make bone stock? 480hp or so? Not that different to the naturally-aspirated GM 6.2 does today.
If toyota Supra was good at all they would still be making the car. Its just cheap as shit to upgrade because those junk cars are 20 years old. nothing special.
Jyan Lan You are clueless. In addition to the engine, Supra transmissions and rear differentials are still used as upgrades in engine swaps or even in Formula Drift cars because they're virtually bulletproof.
No, it's the differential that makes the tires "spin" together. The live axle means that if one tire dips into a pothole or goes over a bump, the other tire will tilt on an angle and not be flat anymore, because the two wheels are connected by a solid piece of metal. In an independent suspension-equipped car, one tire can remain perfectly flat while the other tire moves about over rough tarmac, something that's not possible in a live axle car. Because of this, Mustangs behave badly on rough road
Marty Lynchian Jealous much ? Maybe because he knows what he's doing, he's a good presenter and he has a personality that appeals to people enough to lend him their priceless cars to thrash the shit out of... And you ? What do you bring to the table ?
You sound like someone that pulls a face when having to accept grubby change from those that you believe to be below you... I suggest that you look through the backlog of episodes and learn a little, not only from Matt's reactions but particularly from the reactions of those he meets toward him and his enthusiasm. I'm sure many of them would bear testament to his abilities and to his qualities as a presenter. Perhaps then you'll find something missing in that universe in which you reside... By the way, double check your spelling, your grammar and your initial use of the English language. It gives away the fact that you're actually not quite as elite as you would have others believe, that your high end sports car is more than likely something rather more mundane and that you are, in fact, tediously boring... : )
That is incredible. pumped gas 91, 19 mpg, sweet. best GTR yet breathing fire off the exhaust. Amazing!!!! Thank you and thank the owner. Drive is the best for its' brutal truth. Ride on!!!
Awesome video! Don't worry too much about the price dudes, in Australia you can't even get a bone stock GTR for $140 000. They cost upwards of $170 000 from the factory. You guys have got it extremely good.
Went out to the Switzer facility yesterday to review the USE package, and to assess their credibility as an operation in meeting my needs. I walked away from the afternoon completely impressed with the team, and the car was fantastic. Needless to say, I'll be receiving a 2014 USE model in March if all goes right! Go Switzer!
Matt summed it up pretty well later in the series, It's all about balance and the experience a car leaves with you. Who needs 1100hp that you can never fully tap on the street, when you can have a third or a quarter of the power that you can more readily utilize in a lightweight chassis that is properly sorted and deliver a unforgettable driving experience.
The only problem with this car is that its design is nothing special. Unless you are a car enthusiast, this car wont stand out in a crowd. To most people, it looks like an old body style G35. There were times where I almost didnt notice its presence in public because it looks so bland and Im an extreme car enthusiast. Other than that, the car is a beast in every other aspect.
I like the fact that it isn't super flashy. It'd make it all the more satisfying when someone got in your reasonable looking vehicle then proceeds to shit their pants when they have suddenly gone from idle to 60 in not even 3 seconds.
John Shepard Well here is the thing with that. I have been in 500+ hp B5 S4 that looks plain to anyone who isnt a fan which did 0-60 in 3.6 for far less than the GT-R costs. The S4 is an example of a non flashy fast car that with 30-40k dollars you can tune to crazy speed. These kind of cars are too common. You dont want a 100k car to blend in with those cheaper cars. Part of being a super car is to stand out.
Well, to me the GT-R is flashy enough But, yeah, it wouldn't be my first pick if I was going for a big head turner. Obviously, you want the big names like Ferrari for that. Personally, I quite like the design of it. Regardless of price or specs, I like the less flashy looks of it.
A couple of corrections, Matt: 1. 962WHP probably on an RWD dyno. AWD dyno is more like 800WHP max on pump gas. Yes, you can get close to 900AWHP but on MS109 only. 2. VS stock 2013-2014 R35: both TQ and HP are lower by 100-150 between 1800 and 3700 rpm. How do I know - I own only and have dyno sheets to prove it.
Here's some actual numbers. The Bugatti Veyron does a 1/4 mile in 10.2 seconds at around 135mph. This does it in 8.9 seconds at around 160mph. This is faster in terms of acceleration which, in America at least, matters much, much more than top speed.
David Morgan ppl alway say Bugatti is fastest bco. off top speed. it is np to get that speed, it only if wish to do it. det one:1 og to beat the shit out off veyron
Wow, what a car. I would KILL to have your job Matt. Seriously, I am so envious that you get to drive and judge cars all day. I'm sure that it took you a long time and a lot of work to get there and I'm sure that this isn't your only job, but man would I love to do what you do.
yeah but that was the lowest of the AMS product and this is the best of switzer. If this guys gonna compare companies then why go all out with one and not the other. I have driven both and the alpha 12 is my favorite not say switzer is bad but i would have like to see him drive an alpha 12 to compare.
Seriously my heart started racing when he really got into it and that Monster ROARED!!! Never ever had that happen while watch a freaking video of any other car!! WOW JUST FREAKING WOW!!!
I’m jealous of you Sir, you’re having way to much fun! I had the opportunity I drive a 850whp GTR and I was absolutely stunned and now selling current car to get one! Lol
I like your posts a lot. You are good, very good, keep good working!!
I love american muscle but me being a neutral car enthusiast.. The GTR is such an amazing piece of engineering, extremely impressive even when it is stock. It is definitely one of my dream cars.
Wow i can't believe how awesome this channel is. Tuned is now my favorite show on Drive beating Chris (Sorry mate). Thank you for such an awesome vid. I also love how we can tell you read the comments and you reply to some of the stupid shit the benchracers are saying in your vids.
its the fact that it preforms so well against other supercars and its only 100,000 then you can tune it up to match the Hp of other cars and still be cheaper. Its very reliable, looks like a normal car and its all wheel drive. I love it.
because instead of spending our time calling people names on the internet, we go out and work hard to follow our dreams. And when you drive 90,000 miles a year, eating crappy road food and living out of a truck, you can't exactly lose weight.
Matt Farah got some of the best quotes ive ever heard about the GT-R, i think he is one of the few who understand what the GT-R is about. It is a car that you can drive everyday incognito (well almost), stop at a gas station and fuel it like any other mom's car, get groceries on your way back from work, and still be able to put a performance on the street that is impossible to achieve unless you are in an alien looking 7 figure car or have a trailer following you with racing gear and crew...
They were running it on 100 octane unleaded (100 octane AKI) and then they switched to the local SoCal 91 octane (91 AKI, or 95 RON), which is pretty terrible fuel but we can still make about 875-900awhp, or 1000HP at the crank, when using it.
Might not physicly own it but I built it and drove it to those times/mph's. It has all factory seats, full interior, carpets, stereo, TV etc so really nice on the open road but I do get your point in relation to most cars like that,
Simplement DIABOLIQUE !!! La meilleure voiture du monde selon moi. Certes une GTR modifiée par Switzer donc bien plus puissant que d'origine mais celle d'origine est tout autant fascinante (et puissante...).
You are a lucky man! I am a Porsche guy myself but I respect the GTR since it means Porsche cannot rest on its laurels and has to make even better 911s to make themselves relevant. I enjoy seeing more competition and especially seeing the Japanese make a great sports car. The NSX was good in the 1990s but they needed a new car to reinvigorate interest and GT-R is it. The styling is not great to me but the performance especially for 2012-2013 versions is astonishing. I'd still take a 911 GT3.
If i had to choose between a GTR or the corvette c6 i would choose the vette, but as i watched this video im amazed at how one car can have all that HP and still put it down without much fuss. Big Kudos to NISSAN and by extension the Switzer team for creating this landmark car. It just takes the rule book, tear it up and toss out the window.
I wanted to find out out witch company tuned the gtr the best ....but i think for a daily driver the switzer is the way to go!!!!! so much power and the sound is insane.
it is the best vid. i've ever seen. truly. it seems that Mr. Farah and i have the same taste maybe because we came from the same origins - middle east.
What people don't realize is that the states uses a different rating of fuel octane levels. In most countries we use RON which is where you see 98 and such. The states uses MON which the 91 is pretty much equivalent to 103 in the levels we all use
Different rating system, 91 AKI (American method) is, if I remember correctly, 95 RON (which I think you use in the UK, we use it in Denmark and other parts of Europe at least). It's incredible that your cheap fuel is 98, in Denmark we have 95 as standard and then V-Power or stuff like that (which I think is ~100 depending on brand).
They were testing it with race gas which means they were probably using C16 which is 117 AKI octane. Sweden uses a different octane scale (RON) compared to the U.S. (AKI) so it would have been on 119 RON octane using your guys' scale so it would have been much slower using 98 RON. 98 RON is 93 AKI so it is pretty close to what they put in at the end of the video.
Yes I know that, I never said otherwise... It burns a lot quicker than gasolines does. I've seen a WRX get tuned on E85. That's why it is almost always necessary to get bigger injectors and a better pump to supply the extra fuel. Maxing out stock injectors/pump at 100% duty cycle isn't exactly efficient lol. My point was that it resists knock a lot better than the 91 octane crap we have here, or even 93 in other places.
Matt probably has one of the best jobs in the world right there. No matter how much money he makes i would still do that job for 5 bucks and hour and live in a crappy apartment and in my opinion still have an amazing life. It would definitely be so easy to wake up in the morning thinking that he gets to drive a 962 whp car, let alone get paid for it.
You are confused between the two octane rating systems used in Aus and the US. The US and Canada use AKI and Australia uses RON. 85 AKI = 90 RON, 91 AKI = 95 RON and you can also get 94 AKI at some stations which is the same as our 98 (RON).
