Yes! However if you actually want too, you can set up an extra memorized card at the 45th position like the ace of spades for example. That way that number is also covered.

If you do the trick using 5 cards it`s work very well! (exemple four 8 and one Q ou 3c , 6h ,9s Qd(here 4 card in sistebbin and Ace because it ease to remenber ou you can you can use ownership sequence)

what i like to do is at the beginning set it up by saying "im gonna ask you to make a decision in a moment, you might change your mind multiple times but i want you to settle on a number" then have them name the number, if its above 10 its cool, we go with that number. the bit about changing their mind can mean their internal thoughts so it makes sense, but thats still overthinking it anyway, as they will never even remember that part. and if its not a suitable number, ill remind them by saying "to ensure this feels random, i want you to completely change your mind like i told you before, and we will use this next number." this does 2 things: 1) you NEVER even touch the deck, so knowing what number they name is never gonna affect anything about the trick. the information cannot help you (or so they think). however you will know which of the 8's is the one theyll land on, making the effect cleaner. 2) by saying "completely" change your mind, theyre likely to go for a completely different number, so if the first number was 1 digit, the second might be in the 20s or 30s. you give yourself a 2nd chance, and a much higher one at that. not that the odds were against you in the first place.

I agree! That's a really important question. I honestly don't believe that they can overhand shuffle, because - as you say - the order would be destroyed.

​@@AMillionCardTricks Hi, thanks for replying. That only explains how the deck can be CUT many times and you can still recover the order by using the bottom card. Will's comment is about the _overhand shuffle_ at 0:53. In the demo you suggest that the spectator can SHUFFLE (not cut) the cards overhand (0:52). I realise that some people just lift chunks of cards like a cut when they shuffle, but not the majority of people! They throw cards off from the piles in their hands. An overhand shuffle could completely disrupt the order, even if you know the bottom card. Let's face, you only need one card misplaced to throw all the numbers out. It's still a great trick, just not doable with an overhand shuffle imho.

@@AMillionCardTricks Thank you. The key card works if YOU do the cuts, even if the spectator does supervised cuts. But at the beginning you had the spectator doing an overhand shuffle. Once the key card as been moved out of order it's over. Hey, I do appreciate the time you took to respond and I LOVE your channel, I think you have great tutorials and thank you for not polluting your videos with dizzying edits and music. Ah ok, now I understand your concern about the overhand shuffle. This may have been a poor explanation on my part, but the spectator is definitely NOT allowed to riffle shuffle the cards. I should have clarified this in the video, that when I was overhand shuffling the cards, the magician will be the one doing that. That way, you can be in complete control of the deck, and the spectators still think that the deck is being mixed. Hope this helps!

Actually you don't, he said no as they could have gone to any of the 4 eights if you knew that they picked 22 yes you would know it was the 18th position. but if they picked 44 that would lead to the 36 Position. it is apparent in the explanation that you are completely incorrect.

Alex is correct. When the spectator adds the digits, you can take that time to approximate the size of the pile. Say they picked 20, you would assume it will be the 8 of clubs because its roughly half the deck. However if they chose 19, it would actually be the 8 of spades. I would alternate red black: 11-19: Spades 20-29: Hearts 30-39: Clubs 40-49: Diamonds That way when you guess black, you now just need to assume if the deck is 30

@@futbolplayer913 I don't understand. If they pick 20, then you have 20 - 2 = 18 and you will land on the second eight. If they pick 19, then you have 19 - 10 = 9 and you will have the first eight. Who said anything about guessing cards by the thickness of the deck?

Totally up to you. If you buy rider backs you have more options I feel like for colors. Also you may get double backers. In terms of quality I dont think you can go wrong with either. They are cheap so if you wear them out you can easily get new ones.

You would need to look at the deck when you tell them to count back, and approximate the size. There is still some guessing involved, but it can help

@@futbolplayer913 i dont see the point of not looking in this trick? you never even touch the cards, honestly i would look at the cards being dealt, but i wouldnt stare at them id just catch them with my peripheral vision. just so i know how many cards they dealt. i would never stress that the number remains a secret, its not like i can do anything about it if i know what the number is.. the cards are in *their* hands

@@SHRGP Take the difference between card 19 and card 20. If they count 19 of them, then the card is in the 9th position. If they count 20, its in the 18th position. Unless you literally count each card they place, which can be slightly obvious, you won't know the exact number. If you roughly know the number, from a quick glance, then asking red/black should provide all the info you need. Especially if you split them red black red black. It reduces the number of questions you need to ask to only one. Then any remaining questions can be misdirects or part of the performance

@@futbolplayer913 you can count accurately without hawk eye staring at the deck, and you can look a decent amount anyway cause they probably handle cards awkwardly so they will have to look at their hands to make sure not to drop them. they wont be paying too much attention to what youre looking at, just try not to be overly obvious thats it.

@@futbolplayer913 If you listen for the cards and are near a borderline like you're unsure whether it was 19 or 20, it's a piece of cake to tell the difference based on the number the deal back down after adding the digits, as the difference between dealing 10 back down and just two is huge.

so how to fix this problem .......I have kept all the setup cards in 9th place also but for example like number 27 (2+7=9) ,sometimes the 9th card doesnt come as the setup card and sometimes it does .......It became a big issue for me. please tell ho to fix it

Hm that’s a weird problem that shouldn’t be happening. Make sure the 4 cards are in position #9, #18, #27, #36. Every number should work and land in one of those 4 positions (but that part is up to the spectator of course). Like your number 39 for example: 3 + 9 = 12, so 39 - 12 = #27. So that should work out just fine if you do it right.

Well, did you remember to first note what the bottom card of the deck is? When the spectator finishes cutting the cards, you have to take the deck back and cut that bottom card back to the bottom of the deck. That will reset the order.

No duplicates needed. With your back turned, listen for the cards going down, and count. If you're not sure whether it was just under or over a borderline (e.g. 19 to 21), one fishing for color gives it to you and if it's CHaSeD, you've got it nailed right there. If you're not confident in hearing the cards, after their first deal down, turn around to explain adding the digits and estimate the pile size, note the number dealt down the 2nd time and you have all you need. Put, say, a joker in spot 45, allow any number from 10-52, and you can still do it. Plus, if they count 50-52 and you hear at least 45 cards, , one color fishing 'it wasn't red, was it?' can check to make sure it was 50+. When you do the counting ace through king you can have fun drawing a blank because it wasn't any of those, so you can conclude it was the joker.
