I'll say this, morty isnt in his prime like he was in beta, but I do like how they brought back the old grenade split. It is a very good tool to zone your enemy away and can kill if they're not careful. Now I'm not as good as you but try playing morty more aggressively and using the split grenades to have type of counter if your opponent tries rushing you
Personally, I think this matchup sucks for Finn. Finn really focuses on staying grounded to start his combos, but with mudwall, you force him to jump in the air and he needs to use a lot of his resources (air dashes) to just approach while airborne.
T&J is very good bro,try to use the slingshot move more,imo it's one of their best moves and u can do a lot of nasty edgeguarding with it,i saw u also pike to play the aggressive with them but u can do combos from across the stage
13:05 the second hit of forward air is soo bad. Crazy they nerfed it to make it connect even less. They need to just make it one strong hit, no second hit.
Bro they Nerfed his hammer perk as well, now there is this super bag lag at the end, and u cant do anything about it if u whiff it cuz ur just stuck there in the lag
People have been saying Finn might be one of the best 1s characters pre-patch. Now he may actually be one of the best in 1s lol. Sure, there are "gaps" in his combos, but Finn can cover those options and the risk reward is in his favor most of the time regardless. I think his issue is the fact that he gets so much going off of low-committal long-ranged attacks that have great reward if landed. If his normal ranged were reduced a bit & if he had to charge his side special all the time, then I think that'd be a step in the right direction
You're more than welcome to your opinion, but I disagree wholeheartedly. Finn has a very linear gameplan that revolves around an inconsistent combo that you just have to down dodge and punish. Every combo he got on Veriflied, you can hear him say, "I'm out of air dodges". Without OG gem from beta, you just gotta be calm and let him come to you because he has no other options and he dies at extremely low numbers as well. Almost half of the cast is a bad matchup for him in 1s. Even after the patch, Wonderwoman, Harley, Black Adam, LeBron's new NAir is comparable to beta release Stripe's, Superman, Tom and Jerry, Bugs, Batman. Everyone that runs into a good Finn says he's amazing or the best 1v1, but no one plays him or stops immediately after their up aired into oblivion at 40.
You are not bad bro, ignore the people saying that you are a spamer. You use the only good moves with morty, ofc you can change ypur playstile if you feel that is not working anymore, but I think that your way to play morty is the best rn
Your morty is good . tom and jerry is very easy to kill playing forty would be the best bet. Morty is more of a wildcard you dont see to many of them but you see alot of tom and jerrys meaning its way harder to play a morty leading to more wins even if the grenade split is not the best anymore his earth wall stayed mostly the same and i like the old split better so i would say keep playing morty.
Veriflied I’m a t&j main and I want you to know that Tom can do paddle Jerry shot into paddle Jerry shot as a loop until they fall out from too much damage.
Please don't switch to t&J BUT you should switch to someone similar to morty. I personally think you might enjoy rick because hes a mage and has a lot more kill potential

respectfully, he is so much better than you, your character wins for you with dirt, up air and projectile spam, the fact that its possible to beat the best players in the world by doing this really shows the state of the game. Yeah Finn is so overpowered... smh. Little timmys confused overpowered with a high skill ceiling, every other character gets some kind of respect within the community, when a finn player pops off it only adds to the communities image of him being broken.

As usual the NPC commenter leaves a one line comment with no evidence or theories or understanding to back it up just some random opinion to make me wonder whether the account is actually a bot account but anyway: finns zero to deaths are all DI reads and are not true, if you have good DI and good dodge timing he will not zero to death you, unless you are getting dominated and run out of air dodges or he makes a read on you, which just makes him better. He has basically infinite combos, is tiny and needs very good movement to combo and truly zero to death good players, I expect you to be a little timmy who isnt even that good at the game, correct me if im wrong, ran into finn a few times and watched some videos on him where some of the best players in the world talk about him or play him and formed your sheep opinion from that. How many actual zero to death finns have you run into? Do you think the entire finn community is just terrorising ladder right now abusing the BroKeN ChAmP and zero to deathing everybody? Of course not, most of the finns are low skill noobs who play the game probably much like you, hold neutral do nothing else and spam finns charged moves using about 10 - 15% of finns true potential. Finns combo game is actually a lot more difficult than you may think, each character has static rehearsed combos that players like to spam from what works, if you see here this finn player literally uses a different combo each time which you can mostly dodge out of anyway, that takes skill variety understanding the ability to know your matchup. The reason why everybody thinks finn is overpowered is a combination of two things because his skill ceiling is so high, and because no one really knows how to play against him in some matchups especially mid ladder. He is squishy, small, other than his dash attack nothing kills early other than his combos, the only thing he has in the game is the fancy zero to deaths that he can only do when he destroys a player. You are a typical senseless commenter who probably got destroyed by him once say that he is overpowered and that you expect nerfs like you actually know what you are talking about. A lot of his moves and skills are only unlocked at a high level, that is why there is such a disparity between good and bad finns more than any other character I've seen, he has so many combos and IAD combos and so many different players have so many different playstyles that vary into everything. He can run you down because he is fast he can bully you if you dont know whats going on, thats what makes him seem broken. Did you really watch this video though? A morty player who is good but not top thousand probably, versus the current number one ranking finn who has better movement, better skills, more experience, more understanding, better neutral, better air game got destroyed and had close matchups with this guy, because of dirt, projectile spam, the ability to play like a weasel, and run and hide and one combo dirt into up air which also kills extremely early, he almost got as many zero to deaths as the finn. the only real time that the finn killed him early or three stocked him is when he got completely outplayed or played sloppy like in that final game where he got three stocked. Other characters all have overpowered moves that do high damage and kill way earlier than the skill it takes to use them, other than finn dash attack name one move that is the same as that? That by playing in the way that I said some guy can run away not even push advantage not learn mortys combos past dirt into up air and the occasional reversal using about 30% of mortys true potential and yet still win because he plays like such a rat against the OvErPowEREd ChAMp who deserves nerfs. He is strong at a high level because of his skill ceiling, he is like yasuo from league of legends, but unlike yasuo he is also strong at a low level because of backpack spammers and charge attack spammers who just hold neutral and dont even try and go for zero to deaths like chance 805, you literally talk about finn as being good because of his zero to deaths when other characters have them that are actually true combos unlike a lot of finns, but chance and other finns dont even have zero to deaths in their arsenal because of the disgusting and low skill way that a lot of the community have developed their game style.
