Yeah, Mats Wilander is underated. Tennis has been so good lately that we forget that era was fantastic too with Ivan Lendl, Stefan Edberg, Boris Becker and Pete Sampras, etc.
Hey Chris, do you think they changed the EVA just for now so they wouldn't be too stiff and be rubbery instead? Considering people would probably use them casual use
@WearTesters Please review Jordan 4 manila version. Jordan dropped 150 pairs only last dec 4 and the resellers are selling them 20x its SRP Jordan brand even tried to prevent that by making all buyers to wear them ando lay some hoops on them but Still being sold for a ahit load of money.
As a 50 year old, I’m happy to have grown up in nyc during this sneaker era. Air Trainer 1, Jordan 3’s and 4’s, Air Max 90 and so many more. Thanks for the trip down memory lane and great content as usual. 👍🏾

I'm copping TF outta these, please bring back the brown ones! This shoe was apart of SB since 2005-2006 I believe and these are amazing skate shoes. Really durable, nice zoom cushioning, and pretty stable flat sole. The only gripe is the flexibility and board-feel. Good skate shoes overall.
CHRIS! there is another colorway of these i think people need to know about, Its a collaboration between Polar skate and Nike SB. blue black and white upper with A GUM BOTTOM! soooo nice! check those out.

I got TWO pairs of these this year. I couldn’t afford them at high school and I love love love them. Pure fire 🔥 one pair is being kept as dead stock. Thank you Nike for bringing these back out.
My goodness the amount of knowledge this guy has, that side tangent within a side tangent just left me at awe. To me, having a person know all the history about shoes make me more interested in the product and sneakers in general. Best sneaker channel in youtube indeed. 🔥
He is peerless within the RU-vid sneakerhead community. The vast majority of the other guys just mumble their way through the show and say it’s fire or it sucks. Chris knows it all.

The two différent outsoles for Mcenroe to wear were on grass and clay. The one we all got like his were for hard court. A little correction Chris. Keep up the great work guys.
I might be the only one but I prefer the SB rendition than the regular . Their more comfortable , the materials are nice , come with extra laces and I really like the sb logo on the tongue. Their so clean
Hey man will you do a video about the Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT with the deconstructed upper? It’s different than the other Zoom model with the full length air - the CMFT only has air in the heal and has 1 less lace hole. I’d love to see you in particular explain the technical differences between the models because you’re more knowledgeable than most when it comes to materials and terminology. Love your videos dude, keep them coming! 👍
Hi Chris, In tennis they make 3 different soles. Grass, uses little spikes "nubs" , clay uses a completely flat sole with ridges everywhere kinda like Charlie Brown lines and hard court shoes have a space in the middle with more harder rubbers in the front and in the back. When McEnroe used the shoes, he told Nike .. "its about time you made a good tennis shoe".
1. Love the story of the Air Trainer 1! One of the reasons I bought Jordan 3 Chlorophyll a couple years back. Made the 80s kid in me happy! 2. I too tried the McRib for the first time this weekend. Not a fan.

Definitely shocked by the SB tag, didn't release in Canada and first resale prices were crazy! Slowed down on buying shoes the past few years but my 2009 pair is one of my favs. Might actually buy 2 pair since they have dropped below retail! Love your vids, all the love to your fam this Xmas!
These are nice, I remember McEnroe wearing them too. I had a pair of these that lasted for years. The Bo Jackson shoe ended up being the Air Trainer SC.
Man, I had the Paul Browns, Day Of The Dead’s and Bamboos and couldn’t stomach the paint chipping on the midsoles. I’m hoping these don’t have that problem because they’re so comfy and 😍
I remember this and the Stan Smiths from Adidas were the 1st 2 shoes I learned of from my father's story when I was around 6. McEnroe was my father's tennis idol, so the I got introduced to Sneakers thru Tennis first before ever getting to know about Basketball back in '92 with the Bulls. He always describe to me this shoe, cause during that time, I don't have any reference/picture of the model - But I know it was from Nike. That's why I stay tuned to this channel since I get to go down memory lane on shoe history
I remember being a massive tennis fan, and seeing these for the 1st time when I was about 9 (1988), it was love at first sight, whenever I come across them, they take me back to a very happy place !!!

II - III BACK THEN THE AIR TRAINER THREE WAS CALLED AIR TRAINER SC NOT III Mcanroe did make these famous you are right about this. As they was also labelled to as Mcanroe air trainer here in the uk
I sold these at Body&Sole on Long Island; they were hugely popular since Johhny Mac was playing and from LI. The black laces did not come with the original shoe. Nike had "arch cookies" in the boxes, and we had various densities if the buyer wanted extra. I wanna say we only had the chlorophyll and red/blue; the low top came in white and Nike offered a TW version which was advertised as "washable" but really was an early "man-made" material. Nobody wanted the TWs or lows; but the "Macs" sold out FAST; especially when Andre Aggasi arrived on the scene. If memory serves they were $79 retail which was VERY premium at the time.

Also another fun fact from someone who appreciates skate, skate culture, and is currently teaching himself to skate again, there was a brand called Savier that were a skate specific shoe and one of the models is basically the inside panel of the Air Trainer 1 all over (I hope I’m right, I’m pretty sure I am). Savier actually used Nike tech, I believe they had some agreement with Nike to use some tech. Please fact check me, I’m pretty sure I’m right but you never know. Had to come back and edit this comment, the model Savier had for these was dubbed the Tim O’Connor. Sorry for the long comment but great vid Nightwing
Best tennis doubles player of all time, McEnroe and any of his buddies. Love the shoe except the strap. Play ground memories, if you have a strap they are buddies.
Wore these in high school to play tennis. Wore the crap out of them. They couldn’t hold up to the punishment of toe dragging on the courts. Had to eventually “repair” them with shoe goo before up grading to actual Nike tennis shoes the following year. I need to find a pair of these. Thanks for the video. 🙏

I have something like that without the strap and it came with a card in it showing sketches and whatnot. Next time I hit the storage I'll break them out and take a pic and tag you ..
