@@voodoo5553 If You know hiphop You know dre is top 3 producers of all time, just think about 2001, the chronic and he’s N.W.A work, without dr dre, hip hop as it is today wouldn’t exsist And to be real, neither metro or Tyler is near top 50
Dr Dre literally produced Straight Outta Compton, which introduced gangster rap, The Chronic, Doggystyle the debut album of Snoop Dogg, who would go on to be one of the most iconic rappers, The Slim Shady LP which introduced Eminem to the mainstream who would go on to become the best selling rapper ever, 2001 which is imho the best produced rap album ever, The Marshall Mathers LP and many other Eminem classic albums, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ which introduced 50 Cent and was the highlight of rap music for 2003, some songs for Kendrick Lamar from good kid, m.A.A.d city and To Pimp A Butterfly to still making beats in 2023 despite starting way back in 1988, and he only gets an honourable mention? Why?
First of all, you had no need to say "literally" at the beginning there. Could've just said "Dr Dre produced..." Anyway -- Dre was responsible for the introduction of huge acts. Dre is a legend. But Dre also outsourced a ton of "his" beats to other people. He didn't create the beats on his own. He also heavily relied on samples which he often didn't even change much. Also, he didn't produce all those albums you said -- he produced *some* songs on all of those but not all, by any means. He definitely should be ranked higher than some of these talentless younger producers but I'm not sure he belongs in the top 10 on a pure level of quality. I'll tell you who should be #1 though; Timbaland.
But yeah this list is terrible lol. No mention of plain pat and emile, both of which produced the first projects for arguably the most influential artist in history(more than kanye) and no mention of mike dean, who is literally the greatest producer in history and he basically made kanyes discography
@@slattslattslatt Timbaland isn't Hip-Hop! WTFAYTA, how do you figure? First & foremost Timbaland is a "record producer" who's never boxed himself into 1 specific music genre to hold him down. Just bcuz he's produced artists like JT, Ginuwine, Beyonce & Aaliyah, etc... doesn't mean he's not Hip-Hop! IDK the exact % numbers on different genres in his discography. Yet, I'd say the scale is a pretty even balance between R&B/Pop vs Hip-Hop, but don't quote me. What are your requirements to consider someone a Hip-Hop producer, I'm all ears? I mean does it take a producer to be down with only Hip-Hop & no other genre like "Pete Rock or Premo? Cuz that's pretty silly if 1 of your requirements is to be narrow minded instead of expanding your mind, especially as an artist, don't ya think? Check it, here's just a few Hip-Hop artists Timbo's produced "Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Snoop, Jadakiss, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, Game, Drake, 50, Redman, Nas... I mean what does it take? "Big Pimpin', Rollout, The Rain, Get Ur Freak On, Amari..." Just saying, let's keep it a buck! ✌️😎
Dre is the single most important producer in rap and maybe one of the most important people in hip hop as a whole and even forgetting hs classic status still makes amazing tracks. Putting tyler there above is criminal. Tyler isn't bad and very far from it but you can't compare him to the dr
Tyler is a better producer lmao. Being important to hip hop doesnt matter when you lack in technical skill and cant understand music on the same level as others. Dre is overrated and couldnt compare to producers now
@@abhishekpagare2738 I sad hit-boy bruh. Metro good too but a lot of his beats sound the same. His 2022 album and savage mode 2 are in rotation still for me
@@abhishekpagare2738 No, IDGAF about "new generation of producers." They all sound the d@mn same. They all share the same drums. They all use sample packs. Thery arent s7^&
@@dianevrulesyou do realize a lot of producers in the 90s used the same drum sample for some tracks? Also you’re just not looking for good producers so you should find some good modern producers
DJ Premier has to be number 1 for me. Just listening to the beats from: -Come Clean -Mathematics -Unbelievable -Ten Crack Commandments -Moment Of Truth I mean, how does he come up with that stuff?
@@BetterWhenUnmasteredI could argue that Preemo’s sampling is more meticulous And interesting than Kanye’s. Kanye’s sampling is based on the context of the song, while DJ Premier chops bits out of every song and makes an interesting song with it.
Alchemist is my personal favorite producer oat. As a producer myself I love how he flips unique samples and the way he puts his own soul on his records.
@@pococorn2990 im talking top tier legendary producing albums. He has 2.5 of those (scaring the hoes, lp! And if you want veteran). Also he has only one collab and doesn't do much features.
i knew ye was gonna be on the list and it was so hype going through each spot expecting him to be the next then eventually seeing him earn the top spot

I’m rlly glad dilla and madlib on the Mount Rushmore of producers but Kanye at one was crazy lmao, dope list tho! Wish just blaze was included or even hit boy, hit boy not being here but metro is was criminal ☠️
@@curlyhairboiakabaddude8922 you haven’t tho lol, I mean dilla and madlib aren’t old head picks, and if anything there were more og producers on the list than there were new ones 🤷🏻♂️
@@Tsutsu5 I mean I get it but I just think oldheads capping saying Eminem can compete with Kanye’s catalog, to see them cap for revival, to see them say the most stupid shit about new rap is just annoying as fuck.
@@Tsutsu5 the thing about oldheads is if you ever put Kanye or Tyler on a top 10 list, they will loose their shit. To me I think they should listen to runaway or power or dark fantasy.
A list like this was always gonna upset some people. There's so many producers that a top 10 was always gonna be difficult. Lex Luger made BMF and revolutionized trap music when he was a teenager, for example.
Welp, i successfully guessed all ten producers successfully (not the order). I am disappointed that Pete Rock, DJ Quik, Daz, or even Juicy J didnt even make honorable mention list.
For me the top 10 is inarguably, Dr. Dre, Rza, Kanye, Preemo, Dilla, Pharrell, Madlib, The Alchemist, Q-tip, and Timberland. Idc what order you put them in, but they had to be here. The fact that two of these didn't make the list is mind-boggling. This list isn't bad but it seems more like a favorite producers list, than a greatest list. And it really shows the bias that Mr. F has against Dre. I respectfully can't give this list my stamp of approval.
@@ITheStoicAll 4 of you ar ementally ill if not on drugs. NOTHING Kanye has made can touch Dilla's best. And kanye has so many beats and additions in his discography that wasnt all him. Dilla did more on an mpc with some old records than kanye ever could with a million dollar team of instrumentalists and co producers, mike deans and daft punks. Kanye is still a legend. But don't ever in your life get it confused.
Rick Ruben, Dr Dre ,lil Jon, timbaland , Diddy, these producers changed the landscape of hip-hop during their time. I feel like his point of view is very East Coast based.
I kinda agree with it because metro hasnt been in the game too long and has done some crazy shit. Just think about how much more he will accomplish. Dont get me wrong though Dre is def top 10 .
@@bruh1519 yea but whats he doing now? whats he done since working with kendrick? I’m not saying metro is “better” but hes done some crazy ass stuff in his run and its no where near over. Dre doesnt do much anymore
@@Catfullofwok bro u want dre to make music forever? It's diff eras and dre produced so many classics metro does not have 1 classic so it's really no convo

Dre, DJ Premier, RZA, Just blaze, Kanye, Metro, Timbaland, Hitboy, Alchemist and No ID.....There you go honourable mentions Pete rock, Pharell, J Dilla, Mustard, Swizz Beats, Large Proffessor
How the fuck is Dr. Dre not in here? Straight Out of Compton, The Chronic, 2001... Bringing us NWA, The D.O.C, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar. Producing for legends like 2Pac, Nas, Jay Z, etc... Plus his longevity and talent, nah bro, Dr. Dre it's either top 2 or 1.
Top 10 producers 1. Prince Paul 2. MF DOOM 3. Ant atmosphere 4. madlib 5. evidence 6. J dilla 10. DJ Premier 20. Q-Tip 11. The Alchemist 12. 9th Wonder
Dre not being on this list or even damn near ANYTHING being rated as the "Top Hip-Hop/Rap Producers/Writers/Songs/Albums" is living proof of what happens when you let guests in your house and they start adding and rearranging your furniture, electronics and appliances, telling you what's the best materials, brands and color. Too many ppl can't, don't, won't get what I'm sayin' tho!!!
@@jeremyusreevu237 nah organized noise is more prolific than Tyler and simply more legendary than him. Also Tyler isn’t the only one who produces most of his track. Big K.R.I.t . Also produces most of his tracks as well

Dr dre, honourable mention? He brought up artists like: 50 cent, the game, eminem, snoop dogg, 2 pac, eazy e, ice cube etc... Pharell literally said Timberland is better than himself... There would be no drake without 40 & boi1da
Just Blaze, Dj Dahi, Timbo, Wondagurl, Clams, Danger Mouse, Terrace Martin, Pete Rock, Havoc, Boi-1da, Sounwave...? Literally, any of these producers are better than Tyler (if not more influential and innovative) and they barely get an honorable mention. & this coming from a die-hard Tyler fan. Come on bra.
First of all a list without Large Professor and Prince Paul is blasphemy. I’m not a huge Dre fan…BUT I’m not an idiot, he definitely should be top10. Great choice to list EL-P as an honorable mention, but for me he would easily make my top 10 without question. Also no DJ Muggs or Organized Noise?
guys MUSIC IS SUBJECTIVE, stop getting mad that your fav didn't make the list. It's literally impossible to make an objectively correct top 10 list of hip hop producers, it aint realistic. just cuz your fav didn't make the list doesn't make them any less fire or impactful, calm down.
Dre not in the top 10? That is a disgrace. No mention of Timbaland, Havoc, Pete Rock, or Mannie Fresh. And I like Ye but he hasn't made many solid beats since MBDTF. No way he's number 1 all time. In his prime he is top 10 tho.
I’m sorry, you can’t do a top ten without Dr. Dre. That’s just not possible. Think of the careers he spawned; NWA, The DOC, Snoop, Eminem, 50 Cent (partially) and Kendrick (partially). Without Dre, you have no Life After Death. With his classic double album BIG was trying to emulate The Chronic and Doggystyle, he said so himself. Others that should be on the list are Pete Rock (there’s no Dilla without Rock) and maybe Timbaland and Mike Dean.
9th Wonder could easily also be on this list and replace any one of these people (most probably Ye), and I would put Metro and Tyler only as honourable mentions
I love Tyler and I think he should be on this list but I see how you are mad because there are some producers who deserve to be on this list.Personally I think 10 places for all of those amazing artists is too little.
