Thank you Chris. This means a lot to me. I know how many great wallets dropped this year from some very creative and talented makers. To be on this list at all is an honor, let alone twice. Thank you to you and your viewers. Your channel is a gift to us all.
I really wanted to say one thing who wanted to buy speakeasy leather wallets ……the waiting time is too late 😢. After watching this videos I too order one of them however after waiting for 2 months still the waiting period is two more months. If someone who can wait for this long period can buy it…..it’s my personal opinion and my experience
@Varunkumar-yf9sz it's not for a lack of trying. We received over 1200 orders, that's more than a year's worth of orders in under 4 months. To maintain the quality that I offer I will not take short cuts. These are artisan quality items made by hand that you get to customize, not some machine made ridge wallet made by people who don't care. The wait may be long, but we make sure that for those that are patient, that it is worth it. Every day I get emails from people who have received their wallets letting me how much they love them and how it is worth the wait. Maintaining the standard of perfection is important, especially for how long the wait is. If you are willing to wait that long you deserve nothing less than perfection. Some orders have up to 4 wallets on them alone, so with 1200 plus orders, it's more like 1600 items. I haven't had a day off since November because I am dedicated to getting everyone their order. Being a maker isn't easy, we learn a lot of lessons the hard way. This experience has taught me a lot about how to handle a big launch, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and patience of everyone who has ordered. It's humbling, stressful, and amazing all at once. For those who have been supportive and patient I truly thank you. You will not be let down with what you receive. -Rob
Appreciate you Chris and honored to be on the list again with the Swaddle Wallet. Some incredible options landed this year and I'm grateful to be featured among them!
Your reviews help me decide what I will create in the months to come. I am a struggling leather crafter and rely on your reviews for my next great design. Thanks for all you do.
@@ChrispyThings I replied but I guess RU-vid didn't like my links. It's JFClay Leather, I am only getting started. I have a very small channel on YT and sell a few patterns on gumroad, as well as a few items on big cartel. Not posting the links as it will get deleted apparently.
I really love your taste and style always so chic. My faves would be the kislux leather backpack and the Swarovski pave diamond ring so gorg. Thank you for your recommendations.
Just ordered 2 of your # 2 pick 🔥 from Open Sea Leather. Michael’s work is next level. Their same Day shippers Dublin horween Topsider Bifold LT with QD are 10% 👏
I have one kislux bag I got in 2019, it's the LV white catogram speedy. It's counter quality and it has a nice honey patina now, so the leather is real. I think whatever makes you happy go for it. I've seen LV with plastic leather and blood red glaze...
Thanks for another great video review, all pretty much leather I was thinking Geogrit wallet maybe in the top 10. Anyway Happy Holiday and yes the ranking was fair and accurate.
Great video! Totally agree with this list. Especially your top choice. The majority of wallets I own are Speakeasy wallets. Rob is definitely on a whole other level. I ordered a Dillinger from Rob, also in the Tobacco Badalassi Carlo leather. Looking forward to obtaining it and giving it a carry! I’m already anticipating it becoming my top wallet. Be well!
Great video as always! Completely agree with your opinion. I'm currently waiting to receive my Johnny wallet, can't wait to try that one. I really think it could be the wallet for me, as I was waiting for something like that!!
Just copped the Dil thanks to your review! I have had many many many many EDC/slim wallets (Trayvax, OS, LostDutch,C&L, etc)... I am soooooo excited for this one! Thank you again for all your content. Much appreciated.
great video. all great wallets. I have 6 of 10 of them. currently carrying the hitchhiker and rat pack. love the Dillinger and just waiting for it now. 12 weeks. ugh. very great choices but I find the willow although very very well made to be a little chunky for me. leave it for my son. thanks again.
Always love your top 10’s but I would love to hear you speak on all 10 wallets instead of just 5 just to see how you liked them after using them for the whole year.
For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.
Nice -- I love Rob's work, too -- still waiting for my DIllinger, so haven't managed to carry it yet. I love Willow Craft as well. And one that didn't come up on your channel (I don't think), Orraman's Clann wallet has been a great carry for cards and cash.
@@ermal6157 They make several different wallets, some plenty small; but I'm fine with the swaddle medium or small size in front pocket, generally. It all depends how much cash I need to carry at the time. On this list of makers, I've also loved some Open Sea wallets.
I know it doesn’t qualify but the Slim Clip is my ultimate favorite ! Not into leather wallets anymore I been carrying the Slim Clip for over 15 years now. Bought it at 7-11 for $5.99 back in 2008 just happened to notice it while standing in the check out line. Ended up being my ultimate favorite. My second choice would be The Ridge with money clip.
The video I was asking for! Great picks. I would have put the lucas higher but I can't argue with your top 3. I don't have the speak easy so I can't say much on that one but I have the other two and for me the johnny wallet is the best. I know you have a prototype but I got the November addition and it's beautiful and functional. Also I'm a cash guy so for me it's better than the little speak easy but that wallet looks amazing too. Might have to buy it and try it out and maybe carry cash on a clip or something.
@ChrispyThings I've since carried the johnny and the biofld LT in length and the LT has become my favorite wallet. I carry 9 cards a fishing license and 20 to 22 bills... this thing is awesome. I've also bought a lot of wallets since and that one is still the best for me.
I thought the Speakeasy D'Avella would've at least made the top 10. Maybe it did last year. Anyways, I knew the Dillinger would be #1. I think I'll order one. Awesome video bro.
I like the Get Set Gear Bruce a little better than the OS Topsider Bifold LT. They share the same basic design, with the Topsider LT having the extra slit in the front to separate out a card in the inside compartment. But I found that slit warping the card I put in there a little bit, which was a bit of a bummer. I also liked the deep cutout on the inside compartment of the Bruce that makes it really easy to access the card stack. I personally liked the look of the Bruce better as well. Both as good wallets as the basic design is sound, but I personally would put the Bruce ahead of the Topsider Bifold LT.
Chris, I am an older guy that is currently using a trifold wallet designed to be worn in a rear pocket. I have recently switched to carrying the wallet in my front left pocket and have decided I want to switch to a wallet designed to wear in a front pocket. Old habits are difficult to break and I know that I am currently carrying way too much in my current wallent. However, I am concerned about trying to make a jump into a Minimalist Wallet that is lets say, too limited. So, I would like to ask for your thoughts as I am currently considering the Willow Swadle, the Speakeasy Bodhi V3 and a Big Finn by Lost Dutchman. I really appreciate your reviews and hope you or someone will provide their comments to the wallets I am considering.
Interesting list if you carry a minimalist wallet of which I am not one. Since I wear a suit to work every day, I carry a breast pocket wallet with RFID protection. Why a breast pocket wallet? I don't have to sit on a wallet all day at work.
I carry 15 cards plus cash. What do you think the best wallet is for me? I used the ridge and it was not good at all, I also use a trifold and it’s to big and bulky
I can't get into Speakeasy stuff. I think the branding looks pretty terrible and it just ruins the whole thing for me. It's the OS Bifold LT for me all the way. I have several including one in Blue Marbled Shell and it's a work of art.
@@ermal6157 They have a few, the woodford, wicked, and wave model. If you want logo variations on it or different leather, the owner will probably make it for you, he does small alterations to the designs for a small fee
I have a small issue with 10 through six. All you did was play music you did not even explain anything about the wallet name and I don’t know if you realize this or not but there are actually blind or visually impaired people out there that might be interested in a wallet.
If that’s the extreme case you’re going with, then I’d tell you that there are links in my description box to every wallet in this video and use the accessibility tools to have it read out loud. Thanks
You have a preference for some funky leather folding wallets with buttons. Ive tried like at least 7 wallets in the last year to replace my old one ive had for 6 years. The majority of the wallets are better than your top 3. No alpaka, no Bellroy, no distil?.... Then you include that ugly typical #10😮
@@ChrispyThings Why are you not surprised? I didn't see the notification for a response. Not like I'm scared to be criticized😂 Didn't see those videos I'll have to watch and get back to you
@@ChrispyThings What also got me is no Tauruscamp base or coin wallet. A lot of these wallets definitely copied or got some inspiration from those wallets. Hey and it's got your favorite snap button lock. It looks quite elegant too. I'm aware that you don't have the money to be wasting to buy all these wallets but I'm sure they would send your channel a review unit. That's the one that got me. Bellroy and distil I can understand. I like alpakas new wallet but that Tauruscamp one is too good to ignore.
that hidden knife wallet is kinda stupid. one saying it's a john wick wallet is stupid in itself cuz john wick doesnt need a hidden knife in his wallet when he can kill a dude with he bare hands or a pencil. also if ur in a situation where u need to defend urself with a knife, chances are someone is robbing u with a gun or a knife demanding ur stuff. ur not gonna fish ur wallet out and then having to go into it folding over flaps to try and get ur lil dagger out to fight someone off with a gun.
