The big guys may get all the love, but "Zelda" has some pretty great mini-bosses too! For this list, we’ll be looking at the most fun mini-bosses Link has fought against. However, we won’t be including anything that appeared on our “Toughest Enemies” list. Our list includes Dead Hand from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" (1998), Igos du Ikana from "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" (2000), LD-002G Scervo from “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword” (2011), and more! Which “Zelda” mini-boss is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

You know what miniboss did you forget? Lynels and Guardian Scouts from Breath of The Wild. They are stronger than even some of so called "minibosses" like Hinoxes and are either a part of a main story ( Lynel in Lanayru which is a part of Vah Ruta's quest ) or are special tests of strength ( Lynels in Hyrule's Castle and all of rank IV Guardian Scouts )

Dark Link all the way, from Ocarina of Time. The setup, a silent arena with shallow water and a lonesome island. Young me freaked out when the music cued the dark mirror image of Link!

Am I the only one who found that fight boring? Even over 20 years ago when I was still a kid I immediatly figured out to use the Megaton Hammer. We didn't have internet to search stuff up. All you did was let him walk to you, smash him, rinse and repeat. It was basically a free kill.

I think Arbiter's Ground is the best dungeon of Twilight Princess. It's sad the spinner became practically useless after leaving it. And is Italian name is Desert's Gallows, just to let you know death is ever present in it

While the Dark Link battle in Ocarina of Time will always be historic, I did enjoy battling Dark Toon Link at Level 3 of the Take 'Em All Down minigame in Spirit Tracks. Anyone else remember that fight?

I still really love Gomess from Majora’s Mask tbh. It’s not a difficult fight at all, but I just love the design of it, it’s just creepy and mysterious, like where did it even come from

The best Sub-Boss I ever faced in the Legend Of Zelda series, was the Garo Master in Major's Mask Stone Tower Temple, the Garo Master was very ninja like his minions and had flaming dual swords, he was a real joy to fight and i'll never forget the fight against him ✊

There is another way to summon Dead Hand aside from getting near his arms. Use the Lens of Truth to spy a dark spot on the floor, then kaboom it with a bomb.

Yup. There's a third Dead Hand exclusive to Master Quest that requires this. No hands in the room, but a bunch of bomb flowers that serve as a good hint to those who haven't figured it out.

I could be wrong, but in OoT if you use the Lens of Truth while fighting Dead Hand you can see his shadow while he's underground. Then you can drop a bomb on the spot and he'll pop up without having to get grabbed

You're right, actually. In the Master Quest version one of the rooms in the Shadow Temple (I think) requires you to use this tactic as there are no hands. I don't think the room holds anything of significance though.

Well actually Scervo's hook attack can be parried, almost any attack can be parried with the right timing making the fight much more badass.

The problem with putting Darknut on a list of Mini-bosses is that it loses its mini-boss status immediately. Yeah, the first one you fight in Hyrule Castle gets the Mini-boss theme, but it's of the normal enemy variety. The Darknut in the Temple of Time is unique in that in its second phase, it gets its guard up in time to stop a combo before the stronger fourth hit.

I like Bigocto, Flare Dancer and Dark Link from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (2011).

If you're fighting dead hand then you don't actually need the hands to grab you if you use the lens of truth on the ground you can see where he is and then you can bomb him out oh and more thing this Technique only works in the bottom of the well as a child with the difficulty on master quest due to item locations being changed all other locations are fine with this on normal mode

Fun Fact: 1. if you use the lens of truth in Dead Hands room you can see a dark spot on the floor somewhere. Place a bomb in that spot and Dead Hand will appear even though you weren't grabbed by the hands 2. in the German version Dead Hands name is "Hirnsauger" which translates to "brainsucker"

I figured our the best way to damage Dark Link in OoT with the Master Sword is by slashing horizontal. Because when you stab him, he jumps on your sword, if you hit him vertical he will always block it, if you hit him horizontal then there is a slight chance of hitting him. But to deal horizontal blows you cannot Z-Target him

Igos Du Ikana is probably the most unique mini boss in Zelda. it took me forever to figure out that I needed to burn the curtains.

The trick to beating igos is to burn the curtains to the room, makes the fight super easy.

Dead Hand: When you have the Lens of Truth, use it and look for a dark point in his room. Took a bomb on this dark point and he appears without grab you

Imo Twilight Princess had the best dungeons and best looking bosses.. the only thing that's disappointing is the main bosses weren't that challenging

The bosses are easy, that's true. Still, it's really satisfying using the Ending Blow to finish those you can in that manner. Especially Molgera and Argorok, where there's a unique Ending Blow animation for using it while hanging on to an enemy.

If Master Stalfos isn't on this list, then WatchMojo doesn't know Zelda. EDIT: Wow. No mention of any of the mini bosses from the Zelda game that made mini bosses a staple in the series. This list is weak.

Mini bosses were a thing back in Zelda 1. Patras are considered minibosses. If that's not good enough for you, Zelda II had you fight Rebonack as a miniboss in two dungeons

@@Bornheck it's not good enough because Link's Awakening was the game to put mini bosses on the map, in terms of including them in every single dungeon. Not just a couple sprinkled through the levels. I mean, sure, I guess those things paved the way for other mini bosses. But after Link's Awakening, mini bosses were in every dungeon.

You don't have to get grabbed by the dead hands to make the boss spawn. All you need to do is bomb the spot where the boss is at by discerning its location with the lens of truth. It would also help if anyone who ever did MOJO clips was decent at any video game ever
