Not really. My non-sneaker head friends know of them as "ugly sock shoes". The Nike flyknits are more influential as the knit technology inspired the prime knit used on Yeezys. The same with boost as it's the technology used in the sole of the 350's.
@@conormackey204 ugh no. I work with a 60 year old nurse who wore Turtledoves as her work shoes, stepping on shit and piss, not knowing what they are. Non-sneakeheads have no clue, or care about Yeezys. But in the early parts of the decade everyone wore Nike Roshe's because they were comfortable, available, and affordable. Kanye even wanted to work on the Roshe model before Nike broke off their deal. As a matter of fact when the 350's came out they were considered Adidas answer to the Roshes. So to say the 350 ruled the decade you either have a recency bias and/or are a hypebeast with no awareness of sneaker history.
@@Oeugh with regard to the original post about how 350's ruled the decade (insert jerking off motion) I disagree. Yeezy as whole is hype. But I will say the waverunner is influential as it inspired or brought back the dad shoe.
the 350s should be higher kanye’s impact on sneakers is substantial and it shouldn’t be behind the future crafts. the red october’s were also a very important shoe that was in this decade
For the most influential its between the Nike Flyknit and the Adidas Ultraboost due to their respective technologies being so revolutionary. Flyknit inspired Adidas Primeknit and look at how many companies tried to come up with an answer to Adidas boost technology. No hype needed.
They talk a little bit about the Red October’s in Hypebeast’s The Hype Report Podcast for sneakers of the decade. Honestly though, they were really only hot for 2-3 years until the adidas Yeezy line started. Can’t even really credit the Yeezy 2 for being the first Nike shoe with an entertainer since the Yeezy 1 came out in 2009. Other than the surprise release of the Red October’s, it didn’t do too much to shape sneakers throughout the 2010s.
Honarable mentions: Nike Air Yeezy 2 red October (should be on list) Travis Scott Air Jordan 1 (should be on list) Air Jordan 11 concord (should be on list) Nike Air Max 97/1 Sean Wotherspoon Nike Sb Diamond Supply (yellow) Nike LDwaffle sacai Adidas Yeezy 750 Adidas Yeezy 700 wave runner Adidas NMD Pharrell Williams human race (OG Yellow) Better list than complex for sure. Mentioning sneakers like the triple soles, roshe run, and ultraboost proved you guys did some real thinking and tried to be a fair with the list as possible, some stuff I’d switch out for sure like the flyknits and futurecraft 4D (4D was as impactful as Nike adapt technology, hot for a month and forgotten) and move some spots around like triple soles being #1, but other than that good list best list I’ve seen as far as best in the decade.
Cereal Eater yes, but this is aimed for the last decade 2010-2019, although vans oldskools, Chuck Taylors, Nike AF1, and adidas superstar/ stan smiths are very iconic and I feel essential to everyone’s sneaker collection, these shoes have been around for decades already, 70s and 80s. so can’t really include these on this list.
Roshe and flyknits walked so 350s could sprint. Can't deny that they inspired the 350s, but Kanye and adidas took those silhouettes and tech and created astronomical levels of hype and influence with this model. Come on now HB, you should have done more research. Y'all really gonna say the fragments came out before the most recent retros of the Chicagos and Breds?
Gary aya Collector it’s not about what you personally like but rather what was influential. While not everyone’s taste there’s no denying that the triple s’s and the dad shoe craze took over the latter years of the 2010’s.
@@JozefEtienne still not number 1 maybe top 5 but not number one. yeezy 2 deserve that spot only because of how it created the landscape of sneaker culture as a whole to where its at now.
@@lemonmystery4049 nope. kanye was seen wearing the waverunners at the balenciaga fashion show where they unveiled the triple S. Waverunner was designed months prior to the release of the triple S
Red october, NMD, Human Race, superstar, Chuck Taylor all star, Vans, AF1. (They really forgot the all white AF1 lows, but remember the roshe runners, bruh)
in no particular order: red october roshe black/white turtle dove vans old school flyknit racer ub 1.0 all white aj1 ow nmd aj1 travis scott aj1 banned honorable mentions: geobasket gel lyte 3 vans authentic nb 998 quasa high af1
Beginning started strong with influence and then OW AJ1s and the fuckin triple S at the top? Idk about that especially in a list that didn't even mention the red October's
Colloquially we say the 70's, 80's, 90's. When talking things that happened within an era we use the 0-9 model not the technical Gregorian calendar (1-10). It causes a lot of bar fights but blame the guy for not knowing what "0" was until it was too late.
*WHAT THE FUX* So you going to say Triple S started the dad shoe trend? So we just forgot about the OG Nike Air Monarch and Fila Disruptor 2, they been out for 30 plus years and they still hot plus they super trending as ever!
@@lemonmystery4049 with the Monarchs or Disruptors it would be no hype. They are the originals! Thats like saying with Lebron James basketball wouldn't be hype no dang well MJ and Kobe was way before his time.
Yes, the TRIPLE S change the chunky sneakers industry. ..I have two pairs and they are awesome. ...This model must be in a museum 👌👏👏👏👏👏👏 thx BALENCIAGA ☺
