Great post Rand (Moz). I'm curious - where would audio content like podcasts fit into this? Am I to assume that since podcast show notes pages, etc. were not on your list of 11 types - these don't typically rank very well? If that's because the posts that include the players are not written well or optimized for search, I can understand that.

I hope you found your answer I know this is a bit old. There was a whiteboard video or an moz article about a similar question. The suggestion was to have a transcript for that video/podcast. If you can spend a little more time, at a later point you could always and turn it to an article to read. Then embed the video/podcast for people to refer/listen to. The links can go both ways, from the original podcast to the article and vise versa.

Hi! Nice tips and insights. What kind of content do you think influencers share? I mean is it something that is viral or is it something that is credible and useful but not necessarily viral?

Aamina Suleman Hi. I would say that influencers are just that because they communicate with their audience and know what they want. Therefor they will be creating content that will be related to their audience and it might be insightfull and helpfull or if their audience is the viral type that is what they will share. It may go "viral" in their particular sphere which may be only 10 000 and be deemed a success. Ultimately it depends what the audience wants.

"if it's navigation or transaction, content marketing-types of pieces are not the right match for those types of queries." What sort of content is require for transaction type of queries.
