Take a shot every time Jake says ‘fundamental’- you will die.

No album should have 36 songs unless it's a greatest hits compilation. Having heard the "drowning in my whiskey", "my girl's gone and left me", "you still thinkin' about me with your new boyfriend" shite from Morgan Wallen, I just wish he'd disappear.

The Portals album cover is horrendous. What the hell is it supposed to represent? And song Moon Cycle is dreadful.

I had to go listen back to it just to remember what it even sounded like 🙃

Kool Kids and a few others from Rush! were really bad but mostly found the album average

I think this was sort of how I was feeling the first time I heard it, but man do the few joys it has wear off fast. I think I'd be less inclined to put it here if it weren't as stupidly successful as it was, commercially.

I don't wanna be that kind of fan, but Melanie really does not deserve to be on this list. She worked really hard on this album, and usually to really appreciate her music you have to understand the story that goes along with it. As a fan of Melanie, I do agree that the fandom can be extremely toxic (hence the devoted fans) But Melanie tells a story with her songs and spreads awareness about the world that we live in. She makes really good music, you just have to understand her morals. Of course, I completely respect your opinion. You can think what you want about the album, but I think she did really good. Great video otherwise!

Honestly we haven’t had a lot of interactions you could call ‘positive’ with intensely devoted pop fans on here, so I just wanna say we really appreciate the thought and tact that went into expressing your opinion. We respect yours as well, and thank you very much!

I'm in kinda a weird place with the Roger Waters album cuz like obviously it's not "good" but I'm still decisively glad it exists? I've had pretty much no desire to listen to it again for a second time but there's something sorta fascinating about it as a cultural product of a genius artist boldly using one of the biggest albums of all time as a template for a pretentious sorta abstract stream of consciousness-ish vanity project with absolutely no filter whatsoever. It reminds me of that one Nick Cave quote where he's praising Kanye as one of the best artists of the modern era and he says something like the greatest artists are the ones who are the most committed to their own madness, idk totally how I feel about that idea but I think it kinda justifies why I feel like something can still be fascinating art despite not being good or successful in a traditionally accepted sense. Guess I just think it's fun to celebrate interesting failures.

Honestly I think that’s a really valid read on the record. None of us will ever put anyone down for finding value in something we don’t, and you’re right, if you get a lot out of dissecting the ego and vanity of beloved artists with proven, obvious genius, then there’s definitely something to be said about the record’s appeal. If anything we’re probably a bit envious of you for being able to see that 😅 frankly I’m just relieved anyone got anything out of it at all, it’s a lot better than everyone having heard it just saying it was a total non-starter. But hey, if there’s one universal truth to be mined out of this, it’s that Pink Floyd are a band so great that even something as colossally unappealing as the re recording can’t as much as even tarnish their legacy

It was embarassing and demoralizing seeing fans defend the new A7X. Hate hate hate how music discourse made it so people think that, because critics of it are nerds, that they must be haters because the album is JUST like all the other great progressive metal bands out there

It's hard to imagine the mental gymnastics it must take just to convince yourself that the *sound* of this record isn't awful, apart from anything else
