In these videos we will visit D-day sites as if I was guiding you.
Carentan was a D-day objective, but it wasn't taken till the 12 june. Donald Burgett, who wrote Carrahee, took part in the defence of Carentan. The main combats were carried out by the 3rd battalion of the 502nd regiment heading out from Dead man's corner. The Band of brothers crossed to the outskirts of Carentan on the evening of the 12th and participated in the capture on the 12th.

Appreciate your stories that describe each individual’s experience; pot shots after filling up on cider, another whose trigger finger was shot, another whose arm was shot and, with his new top priority, simply turned around to head for the aid station. I know of the Christmas truce of Bastogne, but did not know that in WWII there were truces to clear the dead or wounded.

There was a truce at la Fiere on the 7th. The germans attacking across the causeway called for a truce to take off wounded. They didn’t attack again on the 7th. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i5Mjvz2EHqc.html

Walking D-day That surprises me even more; in that the Germans were the ones to call for the truce.

I subscribed your interesting channel. I visited Normandy twice in my life, for the 60th and 70th anniversary. Obviously Carentan was in my list because I read the Ambrose book and I watched the TV series. Maybe in the future I'll return in Normandy, but when i want visit a place, I'll watch your videos.

The history of Falschirmjager regiment 6 states they had run out of ammunition and abandoned the town leaving behind a 7 man rearguard who promised to delay the Americans as best they could. Some of the rearguard were lost, some survived. The final attack had artillery and M10 tank destroyer support... I really enjoy these videos.

The deadmen corner museum is worthwile a visit. They put in a C47 simulation etcetera, very impressive.

I was here in august 2021. And I cried like a child in front of the monument. I know the history of Batlle for Carentan, I listen a lot of testimonies of survivors of Easy Company, so the arrival at this place was full of emotions

I visited my Sister several yrs ago who lived in Forest or Lynchburg, Va. She surprised me with a Maltese puppy, I had just divorced with kids who had left home so she decided I needed a dog.She was right I still have her. Then she said one more surprise.....and we went to learn about D-Day. It seemed so real with the statues of soldiers simulating that fateful day. I never was a history buff but found this so interesting, still do.
