Yeah, it is hard to argue. Horizon gets me with the masterful telling of the Apocalypse and story. Each their own, but the thought and realism amazes me. I am a story guy. For me, a game player of 40 years plus. Off the top of my head because that's what is truly memorable. BG3, Witcher 3, FF7 all versions, Horizon series, Wasteland series, Rockstars, Ubisoft's, Bethesda's, Diablos, Skyrim's Crags like dragon age, divinity 2, and fallout series. All the Yakuza, games that are awesome but mess with y depression like Elden Ring and all the demon/blood-borne stuff. Turn based X=com 2 is awesome. I am sure I forgot some, but the Max Payne remake has me excited, back in the day its series was awesome. Almost forgot the Mass Effect series. With all of this, there are games I have forgotten and have not played.
I Absolutely Love *Honkai: Star Rail, Persona 3, 4 & 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake & Rebirth and Tales of Arise,* as all of THE Best Epic Badass PS5 RPG Games of All Time!
Lies of p is great, but as you say "a refinement/improvement that greatly surpasses on Blood Bourne game mechanics" would be pushing it. Plus how do you know weither or not Blood Bourne will return, from and Sony are probably developing game concepts behind the scenes.
Of all the games listed on the video, the one that resonated the most for me was Final Fantasy VII:Rebirth. The game absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Why isn’t chained echoes on this list? That was a crowdfunded role playing game like sea of stars and was similar in many ways to that game but chained echoes took on a more mature story for a 16 bit rpg inspired by final fantasy and chrono trigger and it also got acclaim
Sorry but Lies Of P "Better Than Bloodborne" Is insane to me. Atmosphere is very important in video games and IMO Bloodborne atmosphere is second to none, Art direction, Level design, Enemy design, Boss design, Weapons & Lore were all things that Lies Of P falls short of in comparison to Bloodborne. The closest it comes to holding its own with BB is it's soundtrack and even still as good as it is, I still never had a moment like in BB waking up in the Hunters Dream or the Jail cell, The music intensified those moments to heights that Lies Of P never quite reached tbh. Lies is still a great game, But the only thing i can say it did better than BB was in its graphics and framerate, But aesthetically, Bloodborne is still in a league of its own.
@@mathewhosier9739 I'm aware Bloodborne is not a PS5 game, And I have no issue with Lies Of P being on this list cause as a PS5 game it absolutely belongs there, I'm strictly referring to the guy saying Lies Of P is an even BETTER game than Bloodborne, As much as I enjoyed Lies Of P, It's not even in the same tier as Bloodborne let alone better, That's like saying Mortal Shell is superior to Dark Souls or Wo-Long is superior to Sekiro, Its a heavily inspired Souls-like that does a great job mimicking alot of what made Bloodborne so great, And for a Souls-Like its def the closest a game has came to capturing that Fromsoft feel, But it still doesn't quite capture that magic that made games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls and Sekiro so special.
Cd project red ruined the loot system with update 2.0, its a much more shallow and simplistic system, what gave cyberpunk its charm were the RPG mechanics and they turned it into just another generic FPS, every version of the same weapons are now exactly the same, they completely ruined it, I Uninstalled and will never play again, they turned a great game into a generic one with much less charm and depth
I own and love all these games, my list would be in a different order but not a bad game on here, I've already played more RPGs in the last 2 1/2 years on ps5 than I ever did in the 4 years I had my ps4 pro from 2017-2021, just over 100 RPGs since November 2021, I think I played less than 100 RPGs total in 7 years in the entire ps4 generation
Tales of arise(played it on my Xbox one before it crapped out on me which is why I bought a ps5) FF7 remake and Rebirth and spider man are some if not my favorite games of all time
@@mathewhosier9739 Anyone who plays it knows it's a lie. But I understand that you are hurt and you have to try to discredit the game. Quality: 2800p/30fps (stable) Performance: 1440p/60fps (stable) Anything said beyond that is a lie full of pain.
Omg my family and I have been addicted to The Hogwarts Legacy. The creators were so stop on capturing everything about the books/movies. We literally could spend a whole day playing without realizing the time.
1. Baldur's Gate 3 2. Final Fantasy XVI 3. Tales Of Arise 4. Octopath Traveler II 5. Star Ocean: Second Story R 6. Granblue Fantasy Relink 7. Persona 3 Reload 8. Midnight Suns 9. Sea Of Stars 10. Chained Echoes
even though isn’t originally for ps5, the port of The Witcher 3 for the new gen improved many of the annoying things in the game, and made everything even better. Worth the shot
Yes it is, it has leveling, stat allocation, upgradable weapons and armor, ya know, RPG mechanics, its just idiots who don't know what a RPG is, ya know a game with RPG mechanics
It’s pretty solid game, it just has the misfortune of having to follow up and be constantly compared to Ghost of Tsushima or even Sekiro which are in a league of their own.
Bloodborne was far too simplistic, lies of P, has far better weapons and way more variety, not to mention the combat is far superior in lies of p, Bloodborne still runs at a low 30fps, the game feels like a slog due to the crap framerate
They ruined it with the 2.0 update, loot system is so generic and dumbed down now, far less loot now and it's all the same, they removed what made the game unique and complex, now its just another generic FPS
Personally, I think this list starts incredibly weak (but that is not the creator`s fault of course). Lies of P is more action that RPG to me, Yakuza had a battle system I really didn`t enjoy, Tales of Arise had a world that felt horribly small to me (like, the fire place you start in has one camp, one town with a few houses and the fortress)... Never heard of the next, but then we have a remake. I liked Persona 3 years ago, but it was fun back then. Sea of Stars is charmingly nostalgic feeling, great choice. I haven`t played Unicorn Overlord yet admittedly. Dragon`s Dogma does not seem to be my cup of tea, but might be great. Elden Ring again is not my cup of tea, but it seems to deserve the praise. BG3 is awesome, but admittedly too complex for me. I didn`t enjoy the remake overall, mostly because I disliked the fighting system. ... .. . at this moment in time I am hopeful Eiyuden Chroncle: Hundred Heroes will get on my list after release.
Why it's The 11 Best PS5 RPGs, is there really already that much of RPG Games on a PS5 you can make the List of Best PS5 RPGs over than a 10? I can't say that much of the Best PS5 RPG Games, but I can list The 5 Best PS5 RPGs what are these: Horizon Forbidden West, Baldur's Gate 3, Lies of P, Dragon's Dogma 2 and Rise of the Ronin. Defienitily Forspoken is my favourite, because that is The only PS5 RPG what I've been played, and Lies of P, because it was relased in a last year just in my birthday september 28. I'm a new PS5 owner since september 30 2023 so i haven't played that much PS5 games yet, but RPG is easily my favourite Video Game Category. Love PlayStation! 💙
Ff7 rebirth is a travesty. I can't believe all these people are behind it. I fell in love with ff7 back in 97 and I was looking forward to the remakes. The first one missed the mark a little and rebirth just said "you think we can't mess this up? Shut up and hold my beer." The gameplay in remake was bad enough and rebirth just made it worst. The story was overblown and self gratifying. Seriously this games pacing was beyond abysmal. Not to mention they took the most iconic scenes in video game history (Sephiroth destroys Nibelheim and the City of the Ancients) and made them feel so drawn out and boring. After the disaster that was ff16 I thought can SE do any worst. Well ff7 rebirth isn't worst than 16, but it's ruined one of the best franchises in video game history. Thank you for not including ff16 on your list of rpgs, after all ff16 isn't even an rpg, let alone a final fantasy.
Old cyberpunk 2077, pre 2.0 was anazing, but they ruined the loot system with 2.0, it went from being a RPG with tons of depth into just another generic FPS, every weapon of the sane name used to have different stats, and there was so much more, now you cant even use most of the weapons you pick up, the old clothing system was much better too, the game had so much complexity, now its been dumbed down and ruined, what a shame
Even Soilslikes, which are slow Character Action-games in most cases and somstimes Action -Adventures, are RPGs now. I expect NBA2K next. Besides Devil May Cry.
DMC will never be a RPG because it doesn't have RPG mechanics while most soulslikes have always had RPG mechanics, even Demons Souls is a known action RPG, a soulslike is just an action RPG with bonfires, souls and enemies respawn when you rest, just like in RPGs, you have leveling, stat allocation, upgradable weapons and armor and your gear scales off your attributes, sounds like a RPG
@@boostergold7431 Just because you think it's a hard game doesn't make it a RPG. And well, I finished plenty Soulslikes, Action-Adventures and RPGs I could get my hands on, so I guess I know the difference pretty well.
Crap list with crap games. DD2 is a massive failure that makes you pay more $ if you don’t like your first character, or want to play the game a second time. Just goes to show the state of video games nowadays.
Is this list based on just current games? Cause P3 is no where near the other 2 so that makes no sense that it is on this list and 5 royal is not is just not right. Do better with your list and also Lies of P is not number 10 smdh.
UNSUBSCRIBED. -I CANNOT BELIEVE WITCHER 3 IS NOT IN THIS -820 AWARDS WON -GOTY(DEFEATING BLOODBORNE,METAL GEAR SOLID 5 AND OTHER) 2 DLC THAT IS BETTER THAN MANY MANY AAA GAMES. -STORY -CHARACTERS -CHOICE AND CONSEQUENSES -INFINITE REPLAY ABILITY AFTER FINISHING GAME SMH...
Because eastern developers aren't as woke as western developers, they still focus on making great games and dont obsess over graphics like western developers, they know what's important
Slightly lower? 60fps is a decent framerate, but it's definitely not a high framerate, 30fps is just way too low now in 2024, especially when 99% of games now run at 60fps, after getting used to 60fps, 30fps now gives me motion sickness
@@indubitablysoyall Except that the Tales series was rotting in a pit of mediocrity for a good decade prior to Arise. While dragging along a dead horse of an engine the entire time. That stretch between Vesperia and Arise was ROUGH. We got Berseria, a gem of a game, but pretty much everything else was dreck that also looked like it belonged on the PS2. The series needed something, anything, to bring it out of the death spiral it was in. Arise absolutely has its flaws (that final dungeon wore on for way too long, and they clearly stopped caring about level design by that point + the story's pacing and quality nosedives in that last 15%) but I'd replay it over the stuff from the doldroms.
