The writing was weak, but the straight up energy, new talent and ambition was on fire. Ian Lee was very 90s and Daisy Donovan was impossibly attractive and that’s all we wanted in 1999.
sweet seeing this again, I used to live up the road from where they used to do the talk to the public bit (Old Vic in the background) I'd always hoped they would interview me...
I used to love this show and I watched it religiously. As funny as it is they wouldn’t be able to make something like this these days without a lot of people getting offended.
And that's ok, because we evolve and learn where the line is and what is just mean instead of funny. (Hi, this is my upload but I've forgotten the password to the 11OCS account and so has Iain so we're both locked out 🤦♂️)
Wow you couldn't get away with this stuff now ... the only thing which will be lifted is brown's shirt ... ouch. Who thought at the time that the vilified Ricky Gervais would become a trans-Atlantic superstar and iain Lee and Daisy Donovan would be largely forgotten?
