Weakling - Dead as Dreams. Max it sold for is 1880 dollars. I'm glad I have it but I wish they would just do a repress. Whats the point of depriving yourself of money and your fans of the music they love
@@westernwarden8758I also own a copy. Last I heard, John Gossard (Vocalist and main guitarist behind Weakling) has no interest in repressing it unfortunately. I heard tUMULt still owns the original masters of the record.
Never say never. Dont out yourself in a box just because it makes you able to take control at this very moment. You never know what will present itself and challenge the sense of kid still in you, its up to you to not let the proposed truths of the worlds expectancy of you get in the way. If you’re better now you’re better, but never say never.
A little off topic from the discussion, great video might i add, but just wanted to say ive been watching your videos since i was 13, and im in my senior year of highschool now, turning 18, getting ready for college and "the real world" i guess. And i gotta say its just been great seeing you grow overtime and really just putting out better and better videos over the years, havent missed a single one since the first video i watched. You really were and still are one of the most genuine people ive watched whos actually passionate what he talks about, and its just crazy to me ive been watching for so long at this point. can't wait for whatever else you put out in the future man, even when its just a simple sit down video walways top teir.
Good stuff (especially those Summoning and Abigor ones)^^ My Top 3 most valuable records are: 1. Sewerslvt - Draining Love Story (Neon Pink Edition); Highest Sold: 750,00€ 2. Sewerslvt - The World Is Fvcked; Highest Sold: 522,23€ 3. Carnivore - Retaliation (1987 Print); Highest Sold: 170€
I haven’t even finished the video yet, however I strongly suspect I will be instructed to drink an obscene amount of water and then consequently piss all over the place
Top 3 in my collection X Japan - Blue Blood $772.33 (spent $534.68) Ado - Kyogen $372 (spent $60) Arizmenda - Stillbirth In The Temple Of Venus $300 (spent $200)
It sucks because a lot of the records I wanted to get when I was getting into metal, came out when I didn't have stable income/too young and then trying to find them now and seeing how EXPENSIVE they are. I was lucky to find Kamelot's Black Halo album for a decent price and I think that's my most valuable? This makes me want to dig through my records and cassettes to see what I have!!
I bought an original Flipper-Generic for $80...right before all their records were re-pressed. this was 20ish years ago, not sure what the value is now. Worth every penny though
Thanks for the video, Wyatt. You've mentioned that you've been listening to metal less and less these days, so I think it'd be interesting if you made a video explaining some of the reasons for this, and also going through the genres/projects that you're listening to at the moment.
I have a copy of Burzum - "Aske" 12" 1st press. I bought it from Relapse Records back in 1993. I had a few other valuable Black Metal 1st pressings but sold them long ago.
the soundtrack is definitely odd and almost ill-fitting, being so electronic-heavy for a medieval fantasy show- but i honestly do not think the show would be what it is without that soundtrack lol
I know this doesn't really have to do with music but it would be cool to see a video on your tattoos. I think your blackout sleeve is really interesting
I think the most expensive album that I have is a pressing of Silent Hill 1's OST. It's just the black vinyl, not the expensive white splatter one. Pretty good video
I have a pressing of swans soundtracks for the blind signed by Michael Gira and Lingua Ignota Caligula signed as well. I think the signed variant for gira was going for $750 on one listing
Very nice vinyl , Minas Morgul was among my first Black Metal albums I heard and I do listen much Summoning and early Abigor at the time :) had an eye on the Morbid Ep some years ago but bought a bootleg instead ^^
Not my most valuable, but considering it's a tape, my favorite gem is Summoning - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame gold cassete. 50 copies, in a small box and handnumbered.
You are correct and that is a great album! David Tibet treated subjects like the human condition and racism with such care on that thought provoking work! For whatever reason though, when I look at that shirt, that particular song comes to mind. I should have made my previous comment clearer that I was referring to the title track off of that particular album. Sorry for the confusion. It's nice to meet a fellow Current 93 fan. If you know, you know!@@spritefroggy
@@davidmartin3280 Hey, no worries. Tibet's output during the 80s and 90s was fantastic. I've enjoyed some recent stuff, too. By the way, they sell Wyatt's shirt on a website called Night Channels. :)

The most valuable I have owned is Evoking a Decade by Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult. I was stupid and gave away all my CDs a few years ago. I bought that one in 2009 for around 15 or 20 dollar directly from the band. The highest it sold for on Discogs is around $130. Not a lot compared to the albums in this list, but I so badly want it in my collection again 😭
Mine would be: Type O Negative - October Rust $151 Yes - The Steve Wilson Remixes $475 Oceansize - Frames $208 Stabbing Westward - Darkest Days $250 Porcupine Tree - Pure Narcotic $161 Grateful Dead - Dicks Picks 36 $330 Grateful Dead - Cornell 5-8-77 $350 Isis - Panopticon - $150 Isis - Wavering Radiant - $137 Isis - Oceanic $130 The Mars Volta Box Set - $751 All of these albums I got at retail. I refuse to overpay for vinyl. Especially, when it’s available on cd for next to nothing. That’s probably why I don’t have higher value vinyl. Then again, I love every one of my records, so I am not likely to be convinced to sell them. Nice collection.
My vinyl rarity is a first us metal blade pressing of sodoms obsessed by cruelty got it from someone for 40bucks came in pristine condition with inserts an all still holding onto it
if you like the berserk soundtrack you owe it to yourself to check out more of susumu hirasawa's music. hes been at it for decades and imo hes one of the greatest musicians of all time
The most recent repress of "What Ends When The Symbols Shatter" on (cassetee) went for almost $100, let that sink in! Remember to check labels/distros as arround this time it was available from the distro at retail price (of course I got a copy haha). The only upset with this release is unfortunately due a really ridiculous feud in my opinion, Tibets tracks were cut. What is worse is that a proper and complete reisue of this album may or may not happen due to these problems...
U got as many records as i got books, working at Barnes and noble gives me that edge though. My rarest vinyl is probly GG Allins “Kiss me in the gutter”
I just started collecting records a few months ago, finally decided that I love this music so much that I want to actually own it. The rarest thing I own so far is the 2009 repressing of Von Satanic Blood Angel, just the regular one with the poster, not the other with the picture disc.
My rarest lp is probably either burzum hviss lysett tar oss marbled vinyl or my burzum filosofem dlp with the 1 sided blue etched vinyl that I got back in the late 90s. Crazy to see how much those go for these days
I’m twice your age and sold all of my metal records many years ago. That said, with a very sizable vinyl collection myself, it’s awesome to listen to you articulate the mindset that drives vinyl folks. It transcends genre.
Berserk is like, permanently ingrained into the metal "community". there are multiple metal (and metalcore) bands that almost exclusively write songs ABOUT Berserk lmao
Susumu Hirasawa - Berserk 1997 SoundTrack Summoning - Minas Morgul Thy Catafalque - Sgùrr Obskuritatem - Vampirska Kakofonija Ne Obliviscaris - Portal Of I Ungfell - Demo(lition) دمار (Damaar) - Triumph Through Spears Of Sacrilege Abigor - Nachthymnen (From The Twilight Kingdom) Igorrr - Hallelujah Josh Mancell - Jak And Daxter SoundTrack Breach - It's Me God Peste Noire - Le Retour Des Pastoureaux Ghostly Kisses - Ghostly Kisses Grand Belial's Key - Mocking The Philanthropist Morbid - December Moon Judas Iscariot - Of Great Eternity Dragged Into Sunlight - Hatred For Mankind Death In June - But, What Ends When The Symbols Shatter?
I don’t collect records anymore, just CD’s. I’ve picked my 5 that sold for the highest price, but the median values are nowhere near any of these: •European Echoes 2002 Repress ($107.52) •Angel Dust ($110) •Yeezus ($115) •Public Castration Is A Good Idea 1999 Repress ($120.43) •Hot Rats 1987 Repress ($161.29)
My top 3: 1. Radiohead - Ok Computer (Capitol 2008) $424. I don't have idea why... maybe a signed copy? 2. At the Drive-In - Relationship of Command (Twenty First Chapter, 2013) $250. Yeah this is why RSD sucks!! 3. Converge - Jane Doe (Deathwish 2016) $208. So happy with this one, my favorite album. This is the gold with black smoke variant. I bought it directly from their distro for $25.
My most valuable vinyl is: Esoctrilihum - The Telluric Ashes of the Övrth Immemorial Gods €90 The Beach Boys - SMILE €110 Spectrum - Soul Kiss (Glide Divine) €290
The guys who were from Lebanon and made that amazing muaic about the disgusting ideology of islam are probably dead. Rip. It takes a lost of guts to twll the truth about the evils of islam. Jopsfully people will learn the true history and factually teachings of thay man made cukt
Weirdly the most valuable (per discogs) item in my collection is my CD copy of Meliora Redux by Ghost, which sold for $465 AUD. Most valuable LP is Knocked Loose - Upon Loss, for $216 AUD. Apart from some CDs my entire top 15 is fairly recent records that I bought for retail, nothing special about them. Not sure what the go is there
And to think "Of grand Eternity" is the weaker of Akhenaten's works, now "Heaven in Flames" and "TETCB" are the bread and butter of JI imo, the rest is ok, and a bit sloppy.
Off the top of my head I remember spending like 400 dollars on Endless War by Realm and at least 200 on Blaze of Obscurity by Pariah. This was several years ago before they got repressed and/or put up for streaming 😅
😂man, talk about depressing, so I know what most of my vinyl was going for years ago, but after watching this and looking at current value, yeah, I'm lucky if anything I have is even worth $80. not that I collect for monetary gains, it's just funny how that works, like 20+ years ago, this Cabaret Voltaire - Covenant, The Sword, And the Arm of the Lord promo would fetch 80+, now i can get OG mint vinyl presses for like $5-$20. Even things like Coil - Scatology were fetching a few hundred at one point, but now yeah $20-maybe $80. My OG Dead Milkmen Big Lizard has a high listing of $200, however.
Cool to see your version of this, and thanks for watching mine. Thy Catafalque are a very interesting band; the only one I have is the 2009 CD of Róka Hasa Rádió and it stands out. I had that Morbid back in 2003 before I stupidly sold all my vinyl in 2006 (bought it on ebay for $71 according to my old emails). And I sure don't miss those goatowarex F5 days..
Not extremely valuable but I managed to cop The Chasm’s “Conjuration of The Spectral Empire” 2nd press for 30€ on Discogs which to me is insane cause this is one of my all time favorite Death Metal Album’s
The most valuable vinyl that I have is Devin Townsend Infinity(I think I paid 26$ for it. Highest its been sold is 199$). Most valuable cd is Death Piggy - Smile or die. Paid 9$ for it and highest price is 199$😂
Holy shit, I actually have that Abigor record! Had no idea of its worth.... I only have like 40 black / death records including every grand belial's key record. Just recently got into collecting.
I had a 1st press gbk mocking the philanthropist on vinyl and sold it for $666 CAD. I probably wont sell my first three arghoslent records and theyre 1st presses.
