Great video! In 1912 Calgary had about 60,000. Edmonton in 1914 had 73,000 ,so I don't think Calgary was always a lot bigger?

This was good. My ancestors lived near the low level bridge at Gallagher flats.

I grew up in Riverdale in the 60's, they call it Riverdale for a reason. J.B. Little had his brickyard there.

there may have been a flood in 1915 but that parliament building is the same as the rest of them across north America, found and renovated not built. that's why it looks really old in the picture. history has been highjacked, its no different in this neck of the woods.

Found and renovated? The Alberta Legislature was built around the same time as the high level Bridge and only ever served as the Legislature.

@@olivercromwell524 prove what where do you live? The provincial archives have variety of pictures showing the high level bridge and the legislature being built at the same time and they're older pictures showing the spot legislature is at with only Fort Edmonton in place

It was similar to other government buildings because that was the architectural style for government buildings of that period in Canada's history. But hey you have a good imagination.

You are wrong re Edmonton's population always being smaller than Calgary. Calgary only overtook Edmonton in the 1970s. Until then Edmonton was always bigger than Calgary.
