Hi Dave. I've just got back from shaving mother (she's a bugger to tie down and she kicks like a Mule) to find your video. I've got my fathers 59 Strat and 58 Les Paul but he looked after them so there's little signs of wear other than a bit of crazing which is a shame. I'm almost scared to play them but about once a month the I go wild a spend 15 minutes with each. Keep on shining, you're the man!

I know a lot of strat purists don't like them but I love lace sensors in a strat for live gigging. I have one guitar with a lace sensor single coil in the middle and it's great...I use the bridge pickup for the middle pickup as it's a bit hotter than the stock middle one. I adjust my GE7 EQ to get the tone to match a bit.

My head is a mess and I’m struggling to string words together to make any sort of sense but I’m going to try to comment anyway… Mr Dave, that guitar is gorgeous, as gorgeous as your playing. The look, the finish, the air of mystery with those secret pickups. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a guitar on the tube that I’ve wanted to pick up more. It looks so good it hurts.
Wow what i just watched and heard was immense, i know most people if they were Dave neighbours they would constantly call the police for the( noise) myself if i was Dave neighbour i would call the police every time he stopped playing guitar , i would be in heaven having a neighbours who plays so well
Amazing video as always and also, the headstock looks a whole lot better clean! Have you ever tried using a dummy coil for reducing the noise rather than going to stacked humbuckers? Also, There are other products by companies like Ulbrick, ILITCH and others that are effectively elastic coils that go either into the control cavity in the front, under the pick guard or replace the backplate and do what a dummy coil would do. I'm not sure what sort of noise they will be good for. Those may only help with electronic interference...
;good to hear a more balanced first hand opinion on a 50's style chunky neck from a professional gigging player. I think the narrative, lore and worship of thick necks on certain areas of guitar RU-vid has gotten to a point where its probably resulting in some expensive moments of buyers remorse for average sized people with average sized hands that don't just want to play a palmful of blues pentatonix and (boomer bends:) , which i absolutely love, but variety is the spice of life and all that:)

Guitar looks to be a winner. For me, I've always not cared for blank logos on headstocks. Makes them look so boring and generic, screaming of some slap together. I ordered a fender spaghetti logo off of Etsy for my Warmoth neck lol
honestly i thing a Black Guardpick will make it look a lot cooler to me but yeah the whole Labeless headstock makes Guitars always cooler and looking and give them more personality
Beautiful Guitar, but for me the look of a maple fretboard matches better with a 2tone finish, 3tone Sb matches more with dark fretboards, but thats just personal taste :) Lovely playing as always, keep it going ^^

The good thing about playing, it's that it's good while you're playing it... Only after when you review the footage do you see the horror. Funny enough, the same thing happens when you videotape yourself having sex, except it's a million times worse. 👍 Y.I... I like your playing...
