Aren't the paper in oil caps obsolete? Doesn't their specifications change as they age and dry out? I know a lot of radio repair guys don't like using them.
The paper in oil capacitors I use are the military type. These types of capacitors are still used in fighter jets. Thus these capacitors are long lasting. Paper in oil capacitors are designed for use in high voltage electron tube amplifiers. The majority of modern capacitors are not designed for high voltage tube amplifiers. However. I do have a fondness for the French made Solen polypropylene capacitors and I do use them often.
