Introducing the new for '80 Bonneville & Catalina Safari, Lemans & Grand Lemans Safari & Phoenix Hatchback. Digitized from laserdisc GM125A; audio has been enhanced.
A Catalina wagon with a 350 diesel, woodgrain sides, wire wheel covers and whitewall tires with a bench seat and column shift automatic would be pretty sweet!
At 0:25, I owned an exactly the same one. That example had been assembled in GM's Bienne/Biel CH factory. 4.9 Litre (301 cui) V8 petrol with 4 barrel Rochester carburetor. Absolutely reliable it had been.
I enjoyed watching these old videos wish had days like this today back than when station wagons were more like sport utilities and pickups load up anything. The Bonneville Safari was a nice station wagon love all this Pontiac cars except Phoenix and Firebird.
Within a couple years, the Lemans wagon would vanish and the 6000 and Sunbird wagons would be added to the Pontiac lineup and the Bonneville safari became the Parisienne wagon and remained popular until being discontinued in 1989.
Enjoy an exciting Safari every day and still sleep in the comfort of your own bed with no mosquito netting required!😉 In regard to the unfortunate X-Car Phoenix, I am sad to say that is one Phoenix that will never rise from the ashes. 😂
Cancellation of Pontiac cars is a big loss. G.M has lost a hallmark in the G.M Collection. I am surprised that G.M has canceled this important car in its collectioniii
