Michael was born to be a star and he became the biggest star on the planet! It was his destiny. His spirit is undeniable! He was so special. 12 years later, it's still hard to accept he's gone.
There are conspiracy theories that Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley are still alive somewhere. Look it up, i would rather believe that than the fact he is dead.
He was groomed to become a mega star by the 80s, he basically practiced all of the late 60s and the entire 70s, by the 80s he already mastered his craft.
80s is the greatest decade of music ever and Michael Jackson completely dominated it. Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad will always be on history books, musically and for their huge importance/impact. He reached a peak that nobody ever reach before or since, he broke down racial barriers and showed that a black artist may be as big as the biggest white icons. Of course many at the time didn’t like it and tried to put him down after that. But they couldn’t erase what MJ did especially during that decade.
Michael Jackson towered the 80s the way no superstar before or since has dominated the era. In an era before the Advent of the internet and social media which are avenues that greatly boost an artist's reach, MJ was already in the remotest villages of the world way before electricity got there. The cultural impact MJ had on a global level is simply unmatched!
@@slightlymadscorpion lol Elvis Presley and The Beatles are the 2 best selling music acts of all time, MJ comes to a third place, and remember Elvis peak was in the 50s and Beatles peak was in the 60s, while MJ's peak was in the 80s, jackson had the benefit of MTV, music videos and way more technology to work with and reach more people.
@@johnsonmark65 not to sound overzealous, but Jackson had the pleasure of being the top solo male R&B artist of 79-80, before MTV launched fall 1981. He also toured crazily before Thriller went on sale. Don’t sell yourself short. MTV may have helped assure a surge in worldwide popularity during the Thriller era, but he’d still been top billing without it.
When anyone talks about the 1980s, Michael Jackson is the first person to pop into my head. That's because Michael Joe Jackson is the King of the '80s! Nuff said! God, we miss this talented, warm, funny, and gorgeous human being!
Daniel Kopeć once i heard a polish pop singer izabella kopeck, damned it was nasty ! You guys have strange taste in terms of music, I think the reason why you like your strange sounds you call music is more about a jingoistic perspective than an artistic one .
@@ramirezwilliam8983 Watch some videos of Michael Jackson at award shows, his interview with Oprah, and his private home movies. You'll find yourself smiling and then laughing out loud.
Michael couldn't see his own physical beauty, and the world refused to see his inner beauty. A pure and gentle soul, a musical and dance genius. He flies on eagle's wings, free at last❤🕊RIP MJ the world did you wrong you deserved better.
True. Though I love MJ no matter the changes in his looks, I must admit I love him more when he looked like his real self. He's very charming and cool ❤ I wish he realized that..
The biggest peak of any artist ever. I don’t think people in the west realise how globally famous he is. I live in a small town in Saudi Arabia called Ad-Dilam and literally everyone knows him here from children to elders. He is the most well known foreign person in my country. He’s also the first foreign celebrity I have heard of. We will never see a star as big as him ever again.
Badassmacmillian: You are absolutely right! Michael Jackson travelled in tour all over the world bringing to all people his music , songs perfornances but above all his magic personality and his true message to heal the world , help diseased children , orphans and poor people. He truly loved his public and fans . He is the only one who just by lifting his hat on stage would make people crazy and scream! He was really SOMEONE ! Talented artist as noone else till now. Great humanitarian humble good hearted human being.
@@dannyupthereds4729 of course and is true i mean but they are the nr 1 band in the all history and with michael is artist i mean solo artist you know what i mean and am not like say like not the beatles are not better or anything like that what am saying is like every one of them have dominated different decade the beatles the 60s mj the 80s the two are completely different and unique in her own way , and not take it in the bad way because that's not what i want 😅😆
Michael Jackson is the best entertainer to ever walk this earth! He totally owned the 1970's, 1980's, 90's, 2000's...he set records nobody has broken! And he looked so cute...all the way since his birth
@@johnsonmark65 you must be very young Michael Jackson was big in the 70s he. was with the Jacksons 5 they have many hits. songs and the jacksons cartoon and his TV show he was in the movie the wiz in the 70s the 70s and 80s was the best time for Michael Jackson some of the early 90s was too not so much of the 2000s
@@tojin - Yeah, I looked at your "favorites" on your playlist... if that's what you prefer, then go for it. You don't need to insult another musician to make a point on this thread. One good thing about Michael Jackson was... he would have never put another musician down, unlike what you have said here.
Michael’s fame and popularity will never be matched. Back then he was mythical, almost other worldly. All this in a world with no in-home internet, social media or smartphones.
best time...it was the perfect amount of technology..it improved life rather than created drama...it added to the music rather than totally replace talented musicians....much happier time before grunge and gangster rap shifted to a more doom and gloom era...there's a place for ev and I like some 90s stuff alot, and the 80s with aids and crack was far from perfect...but the overall feel of the decades was completely different. I'll take the 80s ev time
Michael's talent was a gift from God meant to be shared with world. He became the biggest recording artist of all time and still was a humble, thankful, giving, living person. RIP King of pop!
Listening to Michael’s voice is so humble, kind, sweet and soothing. You could feel the innocence, calmness and genuineness from his spirit. I miss him.
What's interesting about Michael Jackson's adult career in the 80s is his complete transformation. He decided to catapult his life into another hemisphere. The mind is powerful. If we allow it to work for us.
For those of you that got to live within and witness the 80s. The decade of Michael Jackson. I am envious of you. The 80s were pure iconic and great music.
King of Music! MJ was a game changer in music! He dominated 80’s era even 90’s where rivalry are big thing! The US media tried to ruin their own national treasure by calling him names! I love this man, he was the humble one despite of success! 2023! Your music lives & dance moves lives MJ! You are indeed a gifted creation! King of Music! True Philanthropist & Humanitarian! From 5-50 years old you’ve been performing to people! He gave it all! People abuse your money, talent & kindness! Those who tried to ruin you using your LOVE for children & your looks are simply evil possessed tormenting your human being state! I will never judge you MJ coz I'm a human being, too! I thank God in Heaven for creating such a masterpiece Michael Jackson!
Thank you those eloquent comments were just a blessing because he gave his all and people abused and tormented him shamelessly. He has the victory because his musical proneness will always outshine all of these so called wannabes that never achieved that level of profound magnitude!!😊😅❤🎉😂
sobbed multiple times. he was so precious, y'all. anyone with a working intuition can sense how special and kind he was. it's obvious there was an agenda against him due to his various eccentricities and he didn't deserve the way he was treated. just look at all this horrible news footage featured from this ONE decade. we didn't deserve him. love you always, the FOREVER King of Pop!
Despite the burn injury, issues with this brothers and his father behind the scenes of the Victory Tour, not winning more awards for the 'Bad' album & the press/tabloids beginning to trash his name.. he sure did a lot during this period, especially as he did the best during this era in that period of time. He definitely created his magic, HIStory snd moved lots and dozens of people from that generation onto the future... Without a doubt there would be no other peeson with the name Michael Jackson. 💯
This decade was just earth shattering as a whole. Whitney, Michael, Janet, Prince, Madonna. They shook the foundation of society. It’s as if the young generation finally had a strong hold vs politics.
It was indeed a pleasure to live through the 80's but it was made even better because I was a teen of the 1980's. Watching his rise to King status was nothing short of spectacular!! After Motown 25 he went Stratospheric!!! There was nothing like that kind of fame!!
Great memories. For generation X especially, Michael's music was simply the soundtrack of our childhoods. He had sheer talent and star power. No artist has eclipsed what Michael Jackson accomplished in the first few years of his adult solo career.
@@thedetail. I just found out he came up with all the concepts to the "Can you feel it" video and directed the video with his brother Randy helping with some of the art in the piece that's so cool
I wasnt born until 98 but I myself am still pissed till this day about how he got snubbed at the 1988 Grammys. Everyone knew who had the best album and who the best artist was period
80’s MJ was a very spectacular transition to witness into mega stardom was almost supernatural as he was at the top of the world by mid to late 80’s! It was unreal!
I remember this era so vividly! 🤗 I would literally go back in time and relive it all over again, if time travel was possible. Words can't describe how much I truly miss MJ.❤️
Without a DOUBT, the 1980s was Michael Jackson's DECADE!!! He started it off winning awards for his 1979 multi-platinum, Off The Wall. He went into the mid-'80s with the incredible success of his greatest-selling musical masterpiece album, Thriller(1982). Then there was a Victory Tour with his brothers, the charity anthem, "We Are the World". Then there was the Bad album and global concert tour. I imagine that Michael was the BUSIEST during the 1980s, when he was at the PEAK of his SUCCESS. Now if he had only MARRIED Whitney Houston when the 1990s came....
@@mariahyohannes I guess I am OBSESSED because that's what I BELIEVE in my HEART! I've always thought that Whitney and Michael BELONGED TOGETHER, as a CELEBRITY POWER COUPLE! I also BELIEVE they're BOTH still ALIVE and HAPPILY MARRIED to EACH OTHER in RETIREMENT now. HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
The time was right for the king 👑, MJ came out with the right songs the right family 🙏❣️, the right producer, the right character, the charisma and likability was right up there, he was the chosen one to change the face of music 🎵🎶, peace ☮️🕊️🙏❣️🙌🌍.
the words of the guy in 31:20 summarizes MJ those days. No internet, no social media, but his reach was astonishing. You would like him by osmosis, everyone knew him, his snongs, his moves. Even if you were not a fan you would admire him. We were all fans even without knowing it. You would stop to watch him for seconds on a tv commercial. Even with internet, we see nothing who could compare to that today.
🔥🔥Say that!!! The Goat!! Best ever, my #2 childhood hero!! May he live on forever in our hearts and minds!!! Our love, our baby, our Master of craft!! The HARDEST OF ALL TIME!!!! god of music, better than any one at any genre!!!!!! Secular wise, any way!!🔥🔥 I AM BLACK jESUS -MJ FV (MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER)
Phenomenal, wild, tortured life. His domination during this period proves no human being, no matter how exceptional and gifted, should ever be made to be a God - too many people are too insecure to allow one man to receive so much adoration
Michael Jackson is every single moment. When is born to infinity. Thanks Michael for existed in our life hearts hearts. Miss and never forget all about you. Music dance. Every thing 👑🙏🌎
🔥🔥Say that, THE ORIGINAL GREATEST OF ALL YIME (after Jesus God of course)!! I love 💖💖 this dude!!!!!!! Most superior recording artist, only few will surpass him!!🔥🔥. I AM BLACK jESUS -MJ FV (MICHAEL JACKSON FOREVER)
What a treasure to have Micheal in our life and people of greed and cold hearts. Hurt him and brought him heartbreak and seclusion and he was and still is. The love of this world the evil out there you won't win Micheal Jackson is still loved. We love you Micheal Jackson. Our moonwalker in heaven!!!!!!
I can't get over what happened to him 😭😭 but like you said I keep thinking those that harmed him in any way are gonna get their day, and he will continue to rise and is gonna shine again.
1981 was such a big year for Michael. Not only did he to go on tour with his brothers and perform more of his songs from off the wall live for the first time (besides don’t stop til you get enough) but meanwhile he was crafting what would become the greatest selling album of all time
I think this has been your best video doc to date. The scope and detail in here is fabulous. As a lifelong fan who first heard Michael sing on my radio in 1969, I even learned some details I didn’t know! Thanks! ❤️😊
Im so glad to be around and witnessed this dominance of a decade. He was a role model for us growing up. When BAD came out, yes we were..taken aback by his new look and didnt understand it. But we still loved him anyway. Funny moment in this entire video? Seeing Bruce Jenner and OJ Simpson attending Captin Eo.
Michael Jackson was the 80s and that’s saying a lot cause of so many other amazingly gifted and talented artists during the decade. KING OF POP and ENTERTAINMENT FOREVER in my eyes.👍😃👍
I'm a humongous fan of Michael and I love him so dearly much, it is actually very horrifying to realize Michael lived famously in the public ever since he was six years old. He really never got a break. There will never be another person as great as him, he is simply the God of music. He was bigger than Chuck Berry, bigger than Little Richard, bigger than the Beatles, even bigger than Elvis. He dominated the music industry for 50 years and he was Michael Jackson. Period. Everyone has heard of him, everyone knows who he is, he touched the world a way nobody else could and is nothing short of a miracle.
Thank you for not putting most of the negativity in this video.. I feel like after his hair incident he became uncomfortable and you can see it in his body language when he’s not performing.. such a beautiful person. I was born in 93 and missed the best of him. I got the abused and drained part of him. He was done so bad 🤦🏽♀️
I was so in love with him for most of my life, from childhood to adulthood. I never got the chance to see him in concert so I made sure I went to see Janet when she blew up back in the day. It hurt watching him suffer so much in his latter life. But he’s the greatest to ever do it, and I miss him. It’s sad that he didn’t pass those talented genes on to another generation. However, his brother Jermaine has a son who looks and sounds just like Michael, so I guess that’s as close as we’re going to get.
It’s insane how nobody ever mentions how immediately after getting out of the hospital after the burns, he had to pretty much go straight to the Guinness, book of world records event and still looked like nothing happened and You know FOR SURE he was on heavy pain meds that night. Always a professional and did whatever he had to do to make other people happy. I wish he would’ve sat some of those out though.
I Love the way Eddie Murphy used to look at Michael. Not just at the end of this compilation but every time . . . A visible change always came over Eddie and you could see the love in his eyes.
Happy 63rd Birthday, Michael Jackson! You live on in your innovative music, creative dancing style, and philanthropic message. Your philosophy to become the man in the mirror so that we can heal our wounded world continues to inspire countless people.
I hope many many people read this comment. Michael Jackson had a HUGE heart, a childhood unlike other kids. A terrifying dad whose abusive treatment of his son affected his whole life. Michael was humble and very shy off stage but on the stage no1 has ever and will never come close. This video proves how billions all around the world honored him and absolutely love him regardless of his changes. IT WAS ONLY THE EVIL MEDIA that kept sprinkling negativity and slandering him all because he swiftly became more than they could control. I absolutely never at no time watch the news there are few things more evil. Long live the KING Michael Jackson
Great job! So glad you put this all together! It was so interesting to watch! For me there were clips I have never seen before. The 80s decade was explosive with talent, yet MJ was unfathomable! I really enjoyed this and hope you will do one for the 90s and 00s. I know he had some unfortunate events in his life during those years, yet they are still part of his history, along with the continued music, videos and accolades! Fantastic video, thanks again for sharing! 😊🙏🏽💯👏
The Beatles didn’t really have competition in the 60s so did Elvis. Mj however had most top artists, Prince, Madonna, Whitney, Bruce Springsteen etc. in their peaks and still dominated the era. For me it’s not close.
@@brotherkareem181 the industry has always been a competiton. Sales are a big factor in that department. The Beatles were much more influential and successful during that period than any one else. Yes Motown did it’s thing but no artist from Motown didn’t have album sales and singles sales that stacked up to them.
