Michael Jackson live performances you can react to: 1) Grammys 1988 2) MTV 10th anniversary 1991 3) Clinton Inaugural Gala 1993 4) American Music Awards 1993 5) Soul Train Awards 1993 6) MTV Video Music Awards 1995 7) Brit Awards 1996
I love how you are getting hyped about MJ. You ain’t seen nothing yet..his videos just get more creative and fun. For other live performance of billie Jean, check out Munich 97 or the 30th anniversary performance 2001 (he also reunited with his brothers for the last time). The list of epic live performances is long but certainly check out his 1995 MTV VMA performance medley.
It’s important that current and future generations understand the shockwave this performance created. It not only launched Michael into super-stardom, it had a significant cultural impact. It was the first time, on a global scale, that non-black teens by the millions were idolizing a black artist. Kids in predominantly white suburbia wanted to dress like him, move like him and, most importantly, they wanted to buy his music. It was a seismic shift in the culture.
Fun Fact: The Jacket That Michael Is Wearing Is His Mother's He Used It Specifically For This Performance And It Would End Up Being So Iconic Everyone Wanted One I Even Had One With My Glittery Glove This Is Why Is He The Greatest Entertainment That Ever Lived.
OMG I can’t wait for you to watch Michael Jackson’s live performance of Dangerous at the 1995 MTV Awards. But that’ll come when you start watching the music videos from his Dangerous album (my favorite MJ era). Also watch his promotional video for the HIStory album. It’s an incredible and over-the-top commercial.
The Night He Became The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live The King Of Music Forever If You Ever Had To Pin Point The Night It Was This Night👊🏽🙌🏽👑💖✨(From adolescent to adulthood he was and forever will be The King!)
After Leave Me Alone ( from Bad) he released Moonwalker, a music film with some great parts that also has a story, not sure if you should watch it after Msn in the mirror along with Captain EO
The thing to note with this performance is that Michael and his brothers had left Motown for Epic Records 6 years earlier, whereas Jermaine (who was married to Berry Gordy's daughter) stayed and therefore left the group. He was replaced by younger brother Randy (who you can see joining the group with a high-five halfway through) So this reunion was all the more sweeter as can be seen when Michael shares his mic with Jermaine - it's a really special moment. Unfortunately the happy moments didn't last long ass the brothers wanted to capitalise on the publicity and all but twisted Michael's arm to record another album with them and effectively hijack what should've been Michael's Thriller tour.
Please start watch & react to Michaels Live Performances from his Tours! Only then you will see his massive talent, perfectionism and passion! His Energy will blow your Mind! And he is so hot!!! Only LOVE!
Your Jackson 5 Discography journey will also be a The Jacksons Discography journey (since they changed names midway through their total run due to copyright things) The Jackson 5 don't have much by the way of music videos since Live Performances were the thing of that time, but the Jacksons have plenty of videos
Just a slight correction for Jesse's sake... Live performances as in, televised performances. A lot of the J5's tour experiences were never shot/have been lost but yeah, they did lots of TV performances with each album.
Great reaction again sir👏❤but please do check out the Jackson 5 when they were young...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Start with the video of them singing Who's Loving You on the ED Sullivan show! Please??!! Luv u already, u are so awesome!👏❤
People don't talk about MJ's fashion sense enough! During the Off the Wall and Thriller period (1979-1985), he was especially into glitter and sequins. Anything that sparkled. He loved magic and he wanted to embody what magic would look like. His Destiny tour, Triumph tour and Victory tour outfits are iconic to say the least. The Rock With You outfit really is straight up disco ball energy lol. And this right here, it doesn't get anymore iconic than this. The glove made its debut on the Destiny tour because Michael was actually trying to conceal vitiligo spots on his hand. He then turned it into a fashion statement. The glittery jacket is actually his mother's jacket which a lot of people don't know about. The glittery socks debuted on the Off the Wall cover which Michael then introduced into his live shows so that the audience could see his feet movements more clearly. Same thing with the tape on the fingers which he introduced during the Bad tour, so that the audience from far away could see his hand movements. But yeah back to what I was saying about how it doesn't get anymore iconic than this. In this one performance, he popularized the moonwalk, the fedora, the glove, and it was a whole movement across the country where everyone was trying to mimic him. He was one of the most popular Halloween costumes of both 1983 and 1984. No doubt the mimicking still happens today. His influence is everywhere. The media's always obsessed with finding the next Michael Jackson. Like this is an original! (He had his influences too like James Brown and Fred Astaire, no one's 100% original, but my point is Michael is the most original entertainer I've ever seen!) He is the smoothest mover to ever get on a stage. This performance revolutionized what it meant to be an entertainer. Just like how he revolutionized the music video with Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller. Michael Jackson was a celebrity star but he reached global superstar status when he did this performance. People say that after it aired on TV, it was the most talked about event for weeks and Thriller's sales started skyrocketing, making it the biggest selling album of all time. People were mesmerized by the moonwalk and could not understand it. My parents specifically remember having theories about if he was on a treadmill or something LOL. The moonwalk is actually just a smoother version of the "backslide" which was first known in the 1930s. The general public didn't know about this move though. It was never popularized until Michael Jackson. Michael saw black kids on the street doing it and got Jeffrey Daniel to teach it to him in 1979. He knew the world could be mesmerized by this move so he waited for the perfect moment to unveil it to the whole country. GENIUS! And it just fits his whole magic persona because it's an illusion. Just to clarify, he never claimed to invent the moonwalk and actually always let people know where he got it from. However, in my opinion I would say he technically did invent it since the backslide is done in a way that just doesn't look the same. They're 2 different moves that just borrow from each other. Michael smoothed out the backslide and made it his own. But yeah Motown 25 is when he was crowned a legend and the greatest entertainer of all time. And it gets even better after this. Victory tour, Bad tour, 1988 Grammys, Dangerous tour, Super Bowl 1993, 1995 VMAs and more. When it comes to just award shows like you asked, definitely 1988 Grammys and 1995 VMAs. Over time, he just kept proving how he was the greatest performer/entertainer and the King of Pop (which that name started being recognized in 1989 after Elizabeth Taylor crowned him it on the Soul Train Awards). Anyways rant over, but now you see how impactful and game-changing Motown 25 really was for both Michael Jackson and the entire music industry for years and years to come!
If you do do it, right after the Thriller, make sure you react to "Captain EO" because there is two songs that is apart of his discography, and it's also a short film for Disney back in '86 :D Right before the "Bad" Era/album so I'm going to be very pleased and excited if do react to that cuz that is technically apart of his videography/discography so👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Please React to Michael Jackson “MTV Video Music Award 1995 Performance” (it’s on Rafael’s channel just type in the performance and also Rafael and then you shall see it)
The beginning was "I Want You Back", then "The Love You Save", "Never Can Say Goodbye", "I'll Be There", and finally "Billie Jean". all of those songs (except for "Billie Jean" of course) are Jackson 5 songs.
Oh man the Bad era is going to SHAKE YOUR TREE my dude it's gonna SHAKE. YOUR. TREE. 💦🥵 You MUST MUST MUST watch his 1988 Grammy performance when you get there, I think it's the best performance he ever did.
We do still have mindblowing performers today. They're just not commercialised. The only Commercialised performers of today I know of is Beyonce & Lady Gaga
It's not easy to be "commercialized" tbh. Talent isn't enough sadly, otherwise there'd be so many. Beyonce & Lady Gaga are doing that extra work needed. MJ though was just different. He had that extra oomph that was undeniable even as a child.
