The 1988 NHL Draft Was INSANE 

Jason Muzzatti had a goalie camp in North Carolina I went to 2 different times as a kid. He knows his craft; even got to take shots from Chad LaRose, Cam Ward, and Rod Brind'Amour. Best childhood goalie moment for me.

The best story to come out of this draft would be the legend of Link Gaetz. Gaetz was a mean defenseman, had skill but was much better known for dropping the gloves. Though his career in the NHL would be short due to suspension and off ice problems, he'd spend lots of time bouncing around the league. In fact then North Stars GM Lou Nanne said this quote: "In the first round we drafted Mike Modano to protect the franchise, in the Second round we drafted Link Gaetz to protect Mike Modano and in the third we should've drafted a lawyer to protect Gaetz." Gaetz would be part of the inaugural San Jose Sharks season putting up 326 Penalty Minutes, a record still not broken to this day.
