Had a thought Mr. Rush. Look at a muzzle loader I mean old school Kentucky flint lock. In order for the ball to ingage the rifling they used ticking patch. Refer this to 69 caliber round ball. Thanks for all the videos.
Hi, I’ve watched over the years but was busy raising youngins. I was wondering what you’d recommend for a fun blaster for the junk range. I plan to buy a mold for a buckshot size but not sure which one yet. I own a bunch of 1x Cheddite/multihulls and usually find Alliant. Any suggestions?
Wade, I thought the power piston was intended to collapse when the powder is ignited and absorb the shock to keep the pellets from deforming. So I should be compressing them before I load my buckshot?
When I am hand-loading and (not using a press) to compress the wad down on the powder, I know that I have compressed far enough when I feel the power-piston compress. It snaps rt back into shape.
ohh yeah! It should compress like crazy but it shouldn't completely come apart! I've never seen that while using the CB1138 wads. I guess that you can get bad components no matter what they are!
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors Wow, it is amazing how time and coincidence line up that people just start doing things of the same nature but different places. I was doing same stuff only much more slug oriented in those years!
@@BubbaRountreeOutdoors Yes sir you’ve got me by some years. I started loading in 1990 for rifles. I was the first in family to hunt and started that in 1980 with my first shotgun from summer baling hay money! Been life long enjoyable hunting , reloading odyssey ever since! I cast a bunch to with 110 molds! Love your videos! Always something good to learn! Thank You!
Trying to get into shotgun and rifle reloading I have the Hornady kit and the same shotgun reloading kit that you have can't remember the name right off but what reloading handbook would you recommend for a beginner or do you recommend any
Just me- I buy used manuals whenever I see one priced right. You can sit down and compare between several. Lyman and Lee are always good choices for a new purchase Powder and bullet companies used to mail free data flyer-type information some years ago
So what do I need to know to begin to start loading 00 buck or like 8 shot for plinking I have remington gun glue hulls I been looking at the claybuster aa12 wad would I be able to load buckshot and birdshot with that wad and be a decent combo?? Wad selection is something I'm not sure about and the weight of the shot when using buckshot I guess you would weight your buckshot to the weight needed like for 1⅛ loads or etc
