Of all the food we ate in Paris, my wife's favorite was the Croque Monsieur. She had it 3 times in 8 days. It will be a while before I can take her back to Paris , but now I can make her lunch and we can plan the next trip. Thank you so much!

Thank you. French cousine is one of the best in the world, sadly in my country Slovakia we have terrible food and people are eating it. I wont ever step in our restaurants after pizza dough with pieces of alobal in it, tastless crepes made from water instead of milk and many more. After my experience im making blog about cooking, more people need to know how to cook instead of eating shit and paying good money for it. You are making service to society by teaching us how to cook. Im big fan or your cousine and people like you or julia child. Keep up in your good work man.

Great lookin sandwich. Grilled cheese and cuban paninis are the two top cheese based sandwiches in my household. Personally, i find making bechamel for sandwich a bit fussy .... if im making cheese sauce, then im going all the way and making Mac n Cheese from scratch.

for the bread, i still prefer a 'pane rustico,' which delivers a great crunch, and stands up better to the beschemel. thanks to this series, i have added comte and gruyere to my suite of cheeses.

I'm just trying to be a chef of my own.love to invent dish to eat and try to copy some ideas.the main reason only us especially that the ingredients is not easily to find in our country-philippines.it is much more expenpessive to buy ingredients that came from other countries.

why do some places make the croque with bechamel, and some make it without?
@almostremembered
@almostremembered 6 лет назад
Chef, I could've sworn croque monsieur/madame had a very thin layer of mustard. Is this incorrect? Is it a popular option? Thank you!
@FrenchCookingAcademy

it’s not in the original recipe that is just a modern twist that has proven popular in some places in my opinion it is too overpowering and covers most of the over flavours

Comte cheese contains animal rennet. It is not vegetarian. Neither is Gruyere (which is what you’re supposed to use). Second, eggs are only consumed by a specific type of vegetarian. Get your facts straight before you spread misinformation. How does a Frenchman make bechamel wrong? 😂 Incorporate your milk slowly because cold milk will cause lumps. And put your ham on the bread first before your sauce to avoid a soggy sponge.
