Another great list Chris, I have to mention though the 2009-10 Topps Chrome basketball cards are actually parallels inserted in the regular Topps set that year and is not a stand alone set. Topps had to rush their cards out that year due to losing their NBA license on January 1, 2010. That’s also why they are in airbrushed uniforms and did not have access to the rookie photo shoot from the 2009 draft class. I think this would be a good sign that collectors would be ok with airbrushed/no logo cards should Topps ever decide to go that route in the NBA if they can’t get that exclusive or shared license.

Bosh is often overlooked because he was drafted #4 in a year with possibly the best top 3 ever: Bron, D-Wade, and Carmelo Anthony all going ahead of him. His game was very understated as well, I found. He had a quiet sort of intensity, not unlike Tim Duncan or David Robinson. All business, here to 'make money, not friends' as it were. Plus, coming up in Toronto can make it harder to stand out on a National level. It even took me awhile to 'accept' him as a Raptor, possibly because of how hyped up the top 3 were, but he was solid his entire Toronto career, and I can't blame him for going to Miami when he did. That was a once in a career opportunity.

As of August 20th 2022 you can get a that PSA 9 Carmelo Anthony for under $50 shipped as a BIN on eBay. The bottom really fell out on some cards post-boom.

HeyChris, thanks for the great videos! I was wondering if you have recognized any correlation to your videos and card prices. Every once in a while your videos draw me to a card that I find very interesting and I’ve noticed when searching for the card the prices have gone up, do you think this is an effect of the general rise in the market or is your research and thoughts potentially driving behavior?

I hadnt ever really considered that, although recently a few cards I mentioned on the regular rollers lists definitely shot way up in price shortly after my video posted. Perhaps I have some influence here and there but I wouldnt say that definitively.

It makes sense. If 10,000 people view “regular rollers” video and see a card he or she was not familiar with, the demand will go up. Keith Comstock and Mark Jackson “famous people” in background certainly have seen an uptick in demand since video posted. As for “high rollers” I doubt that his videos change the value for Mantle, Robinson, Aaron, etc

I’m betting in 10-15 years the Donruss Optic cards will be the de facto base rookie you want from the recent years releases. It reminds me a lot of Topps Chrome from this era, has lower print run than Prizm, and Prizm designs just don’t look like they will age well. 2018-19 Optic is my favorite basketball card design of the last 20 years.

Hope somebody can answer my question. I'm noticing that some of the 90s cards grade well with PSA despite having obvious edge issues or some corner wear. I'd just like to know if they adjust their standards for these modern cards vs the ultra modern cards? Or maybe they grade the older cards in comparison with how they've graded the same card before? Thanks in advance to anyone :)

I have a 1981 Topps cello pack with Joe Montan's RC on top that I bought (ebay) for 80$ in 2013ish. For investment purposes, would you recommend getting the pack graded or opening it and getting the Joe Montana graded?

Either way makes total sense. Opening it is the higher risk/higher reward play. I personally would probably grade the pack, unless the card looked absolutely perfect, then I might open it.

Hello everyone. I have been in contact with CSG card grading. They are one of the newest companies out to slab cards. Anyways, they are going to have a pop report once they have enough of a database since they just started 2 months ago. Just thought I'd share. 2 month wait currently for an economic order at 15 a card. I'm going to give them a try

@@collectorinvestordealer well maybe for $1.99 it’s still a good deal. Question, what’s the deal with leaving the peel on the cards from that era? I’ve bought tons of them lately, and feel like all the ones with the peel on look horrible and then when I peel off the protective coat it’s like a brand new card underneath. I guess my question is, what’s a good condition look like with a protective coat on it. They all look hideous with it on to me.

I'm nervous to purchase a cheaper raw 2009-10 Topps Curry or Harden because of reports of reprints. Some of the cards for sale on eBay that are labeled reprints and look pretty spot on. Also.. the 3 point leader might come down to who plays the longest Curry or Harden. Surprisingly, Harden is closing in on the 4th spot All Time and only about 200 behind Steph. Steph's accuracy is superior but if Harden starts throwing up shots in volume... it could get close.

Just be sure to check the description for everything. If it doesn't say Reprint or RP at all, you should be good. But if it seems too good to be true, it probably is
