Alfa Romeo has an extensive background with racing but not the best with reliability. This 2018 Alfa Romeo Giulia is a continued attempt for Alfa to regain space in the North American market and despite some of its drawbacks, this car is nothing short of astonishing when it comes to its performance.

Some Alfa owners pointed out that the "A" in "DNA" stands for "Advanced Efficiency" and not "All Weather". My mistake, but this does further solidify my point that there is no easy way at all to tell what these settings mean unless you look them up. That is so awesome to hear. I've wanted to do this since I was renting horrendous base model cars 7 years ago and thought the world just had to know. I'm definitely going to keep creating content although the winter may slow me down a bit. I have some ideas outside of reviews to mix things up in the meantime. I had a pretty good options being in Cali but I had to go with the Alfa because I've always been curious. Now I need to drive a 4C because it has to be insane. If these end up like Fiats, you may be able to pick one up incredibly cheap in a few years, just make sure you get that decent warranty 😁

Hah thanks bro! At least you can ignore all of the tech and just enjoy the drive. I completely agree with you but not only is it not going away, it's getting worse. Being an IT guy, I love tech, they just need to stop putting so much of it between the driver and the car. Thanks for watching bud!

My dream is for a modular dash that is upgradeable. All that tech is do dated before the car is even paid off. Ironically the older cars with buttons and radios are more timeless. And even better if they have standard form factors like din and double din new head units and navigation systems can be added later.

Every dash today is contoured and customized to the point of where you have to bypass it completely to do something as easy as an audio upgrade. I was happy to see my 2012 WRX had an easily upgradable double din stereo but something tells me that option will be gone forever in a few a years. Android auto and Apple Carplay will be the only consistent thing between manufactures since nobody is going to follow another manufacturer's standard. Physical buttons made sense and designers had something to organize on a dash, now everything is buried in electronic menus that are horrendous to navigate. And don't even get me started on the electric parking brake haha

I was thinking about that but wasn't too sure how to incorporate into this channel. I do a lot of Enterprise stuff these days which is hard to chat about unless other IT professionals are interested but maybe another channel? It would definitely give me something to do during winter months.

I can't disagree with. Still comes off as a style of it's own in my opinion, doesn't seem like a direct copy. I keep going back on forth with those but I think I like the rims more than less at times.

Looks fun to drive! Not a fan of how busy cars are these days w their touch screen million & one options...hope we go back to standard dashboards soon enough but I wouldn’t count on it 😕 Great review like usual bud, you’re a natural.

It really was blast to throw it through corners. I wouldn't count on these manufacturers going back to standard buttons at least anytime soon. They are sometimes great at creating cars but they are clearly not software developers. Hopefully it's just a trend that will pass but it does seem like once Tesla slapped a giant screen in their car, everyone has been trying to compete in some way. And thanks for the support bud, the final product and feedback always makes the work worth it. There's definitely more to come!

Thanks for this video. I drove my friends Gulia and really enjoyed the acceleration and the performance of the 4 cylinder but I would stick with my Audi A5 as I'm perfectly happy with its performance and handling. As well, the interior finishing is way above what I saw in the Alpha as well as the hatch back design makes the Audi far more practical

Ha, you're the man. I actually bought them off of Amazon. The scary thing is that they look identical to vanity plates that you get from the DMV, if not better. Altek Bro don’t let them get you down. You’re just speaking the truth and pointing out the pros and cons of the car and you’re right! For example I love Honda, but I’m not a big fan of the newest generation that came out after I got mine. I have a 2015 Honda Civic EXL, and anything after the 2016’s is not my cup of tea honestly. But when you talk about the body and the ride it makes people think and see from another perspective. These fans are so blinded by their love for the car that they don’t want to admit to the negativity when it’s pointed out. Trust me bro, you keep doing your thing, and I’m going to keep passing your videos around my friends to show my support! Thank you for the link that’s awesome! I completely agree with you. I'm a fanboy for certain things but I can always admit shortcomings with something I love, others not so much sometimes. The Honda Civic example is a great one because it's a tough car to love visually. I can't let it get me down when someone like you is supportive and real with your feedback. I just need a million more of you and I'll be set! Haha. Let me know how that plate comes out buddy! You have a great one yourself. Reliability is very good like German cars or better in uk made a reliably test 2x and Alfa with giulia and stelvio is very high.

Time will tell on these new models. Alfa doesn't have the best track record for reliability in the states, and it's a little worrying when something as simple as the sunroof malfunctions. Although I certainly didn't need the sunroof to enjoy the car, that's for sure.

Since they're backed by Fiat Chrysler, I don't see them going away any time soon. I've read about some horror stories regarding the Giulia but most were supposedly fixed with software updates. Only time will tell but I certainly wouldn't buy the first year of a new model, let them figure out the inevitable kinks first.

No, I believe this is the second year of the Giulia with the 4C being in the states since 2014 which was when they came back to the North American market. I need to get my hands on a 4C, that much I know.

I was just taking into account the recent models and designs. I wasn't really saying that Alfa "took" the design, but more so that even though it looks like a blend of other cars, it still stands out. I feel like not a lot of cars pull that off.

I am in the market for a used 2018 Alfa, so I am researching the car and I came across a video of an owner doing a one year review, he was complaining about not being able to engage the sunroof while the car was moving. It seems like they do it on purpose. Maybe some safety feature? It is the first time I see that though.
