The 400ps Audi TTRS is underrated and its clear that its a car that can do everything very well! The 2021 Audi TTRS is a perfect daily and with the awesome 2.5 5cyl engine is makes for a very quick car. Acceleration of 3.7 seconds to 62mph is incredible. It puts all the power down in any condition which for the winter months is perfect!

TTRS does not have the same set up as the new RS3. I had the current TTRS and recently drove the new RS3, it would wipe the TT's arse. Sorry to burst your bubble bud. The TT is an 8 year old design and it shows.

And has a whole 10 more HP but I do believe it’s a little faster by a hair. However I promise you this the TT RS turns more heads then the RS3 period point blank bottomline lol! I’ve even had it mistaken for an R8 lol that alone makes me glad I picked the TT RS. At the end of the day one looks like supercar the other looks like a kitted S3. Lastly, I just have the tune and dwnpipe so I’m much faster then any stock RS3 and I don’t daily it so it’s rarely seen which makes it even more BA IMHO!! Both fantastic cars though!!

It’s an epic car. I bought one a few weeks ago and I haven’t stopped grinning. It’s just so capable, even on the slippery UK winter roads, I can still get all the power down. I don’t miss my AMG in the slightest and I actually prefer the sound of the TTRS over my previous V8. It’s a perfect daily driver.

Also think the color and the car looks much better in real (something with the width of front of the car in photos, that cheats, looks much more agressive in real) I was also looking at the rs3 / q3 rs - for use it as the family car also, and don’t really think you can compare these with the tt model.

The 5 cylinders engine is a gem but not so the image of the Audi TT which I have owned previously owned. I would like Audi to roll out a baby R8, perhaps the R5 with a mid engine two seater to rival the Alfa 4C, Alpine A110 and the Porsche Cayman GT4 then it will be worth having a small industrial accident and spend your compensation claim on the fantasy Audi R5! Thanks Stef!

Hi Stef, How would you genuinely compare it to the GR Yaris??! Seen your high praise reviews and intrigued! Wanted manual and light so got the GR4. I might go and test drive the new RS3 or a late TTRS like this one, just to confirm if I'm missing out on fun factor/ dynamics as a daily road blast. For road use only, I doubt the all new RS3 actually offers much more dynamically if looking for phenomenal grip rather than grip with an element of artificial oversteer 😉

@redgasman7569 2 года назад
Agree that the RS3 is more practical and if you have kids would makes sense purchasing it vs the TTRS. However, driving both cars back to back (have not driven the newest RS3) there is no doubt that the TTRS is the more balanced/nimbler/quickest of the two. Plus, I still can't get past the wider front tires vs the rears in the RS3. I bought my Wife a 2021 in exclusive Chalk with the Black/red interior and it is a beautiful little beast!!

TTRS was a nice car, but getting very dated now and no, it isn't the same as the new RS underneath as some people seem to think. I drove the new RS3 a few weeks ago, it is in another league to the TTRS. Let's face it, the mk3 TT design is what, 8 years old now... it shows as well, especially the interior and tech. Shame they are not making a mk4, as that with the new RS3 drivetrain and tech, then maybe...

Audi just needs to get rid of the rear seats and make it a proper 2-seater, and MORE importantly, ditch the Haldex for their true Quattro awd. I love the TT and it’s what I really want but after I got out of the RS5, the RS5 drives worlds better for not much more money. And in coupe form the rear seats of the RS5 are still usable otherwise you can get the sportback.So, I’ll be getting the RS5; I just wish it was a baby R8 (TTRS).

I love it but it's just too expensive. Almost $80,000 USD for a toy-sized, FWD-biased car when the same money buys you an M2 (and a beater), an M3, a C8, a 718S, an RS5, or a CT4-V Blackwing. Shoot, even the new M240i xDrive gives it a hell of a run and it's a mere $58k with all options checked. All of the cars I mentioned are similarly quick, make their own great noises, are finished well, and yet have either better driving dynamics or more practical utility or both. If it was $70,000 USD loaded, it would be worth considering. As is, extremely hard sell.

Phenomenal grip? Yes. ‘Fun’ handling? Absolutely not. It doesn’t sell well as for the money there are better ‘drivers’ cars. RS3 sells better due to the practicality and inhabitants of the Bradford and Birmingham areas like their traffic light Grand Prix and ‘gapping’ people on the motorway.I agree it’s a great all rounder and for those without kids an excellent daily. It’s not something a ‘driver’ would pick up the keys to for a ‘fun’ and rewarding B road blast. That would be a cayman or M2. Yes I’ve driven one and I went with an M4 CP in the end as I like how it tries to kill me if I am not focused. A 12 year old could drive the TTRS quickly.
@skywalk3x
@skywalk3x 2 года назад
A 12 yr old? Lol so that makes it bad? People say that about Porsches. I own a TTRS, not just giving it a go. When you OWN one and drive it hard you can dive into a corner and blast out of them. Handling is absolutely fun, but being an awd car you can’t drive it like a rwd car. That’s what my friend thought. Awd is all about grip. My R8 is able to kick its tail,out but grip of the TTRS in any weather is awesome.
@James-RJM
@James-RJM 2 года назад
If it understeers on the road, then yes, not good. If it grips and then grips even further, the term like on rails springs to mind, what's not to love?! Well obviously lack of oversteer. In which case buy rwd!

@@James-RJM even rwd understeers but awd gets talked more so because by nature they have tendencies that’s specific to the platform.
@James-RJM
@James-RJM 2 года назад
@Ultraman As the above and other comments from me point out! Much of the understeer issues are actually the tyres/driver's skill and knowledge. Many VAG performance cars actually are shod with average-shite tyres!! They're more interested in their financial agreements vs driver satisfaction. Applicable to ALL manufacturers... Had countless fwd hot hatch cars and all did it still, but much less with better tyres, until my last car, i30N performance pack and current GR Yaris. The N had a front e-diff. My GR4 is actually the non Circuit pack, in convenience/luxury pack guise, so no torsen lsd's, open diff's and grips like a bast..rd!! Again, tyres!!! Put f1 asymmetric 5's on mine from day 1!😍 Upgrading the tyres resolved 30% of earlier car understeer issues. Learning to drive properly in a month's police driving course also removed 40% of many naive understeer issues! Easing off the throttle and unbalancing the car is a common mistake. Likely taught by driving instructors when driving like a snail!! For road use, not track race line's etc, the police roadcraft style teaches IPSGA. If one learns that, they'll save heaps on brakes and enter corners with slightly less speed but keep the squeeze, when many brake, keep the car planted and stable and exit with gas as they are almost past the road curve. An exhilarating feeling. Learning the limit point also, effectively, allows one to take unknown sharp bends like a psychic. On the road, with competence and experience, most awd's with DECENT rubber will be incredible in slippery conditions vs fwd or rwd.
@skywalk3x
@skywalk3x 2 года назад
@@James-RJM bro rwd tend to oversteer and awd tend to understeer. That’s the tendency of the platforms. Either can do the other, but they have basic traits per platform. Mod engine cars tend to be neutral depending on the shock and spring set up. Rear engine drive cars lie Porsche was called the widow maker because of snap oversteer. Now the S/S setup it is reduced severely but when pushed can still snap into oversteer. It’s basic principles. Obviously you have knowledge but how many people drive per an instructor? When I got my R8 it was my first awd and mid engine car and it drove so different than any car before it. I also have an 18 Audi TT RS and a 2021 Supra. All 3 drive different and are a blast to drive. Also my 16 Honda Civic 4 door. Lol
