I had the 2021 K5 LXS as a car rental. Really good car. Fun to drive. Well equipped with modern tech. It even hit 41 mpg while driving in smart mode on a 2 hr road trip. I also just let go of my 2010 Kia Forte due to an accident, and that car was reliable. Kia has really come a long way
@@subieasunayuuki Definitely not lol. I do love KIA but they're not even close to luxury. What they're is nice for their segments. Even the word sporty is questionable
@@tocreatee5736 seeing as a Kia telluride used is going for sticker and so is the palisade i doubt it has anything to do with engines and more to do with supply and demand.
Sooooo disappointed there isn't a Hybrid like the Sonata twin. It's amazing how the design of the K5 is so striking and attractive, especially the front end, and the Sonata looks like a sad fish.
@@tocreatee5736 It was a brake fluid leak that could combust with high temps which obviously are a given considering engines are literal combustion chambers. It wasn't the engine's fault.
I like them a lot more than Doug Demuro now. His reviews are kinda snobby. Like most of his recent ones are all about what rich people drive on Nantucket Island. Who cares? I guess as you can afford more expensive cars, one tends to look down on cheap ones.
@@jaydenht6714 I didn't say he doesn't review cheap cars, just that he looks down on them. The last I watched from him was that Wagoneer video, where he couldn't stop talking about old Wagoneers on Nantucket. I am not subscribed to him, so I didn't see the k5 video yet. I'll check it out.
@@Hallowsaw truueeee but- image of car comes with kia badge it isn't easy to remove from perception. Hope the change to new logo design that the patent.
One further bit of useless trivia. The K900 is known as the K9 in Korea. When it was introduced in English speaking markets KIA apparently decided to avoid jokes about the car being a dog.
..woof woof joke .. but they actually do sell a lot of those larger K9, K900, Equus and Genesis luxury cars for exclusive executive use in Korea... with the extra power recliners , shades, and display monitors , with controls back there in those very comfy rear seats..
That's what I ended up doing. Was set on the k5 and then heard about the stinger. Basically the same price but a much more fun drive and has a hatch. Fuel economy isn't as nice of course, so the k5 is probably the better choice for someone with a very long commute.
@@astorobitteli2673 A pre-owned Bentley would a) be a lot older to fit that price point, b) have a higher cost of ownership, and c) not look as good. You could argue about c), but the other two are fact.
Bad choice. The 401 is probably the worst place to jump your car. I mean, you can do it on the Don Valley, but nah, the 401, worse highway in the universe
Booked the Wolf Gray GT line in Toronto. It’s was between this and Mazda 3 sport turbo. First went to test drive the Mazda and that car felt small and claustrophobic. I had so much love for that car but duh !!! Went to Kia next - boy oh boy doesn’t the car feel nice. Test drove the EX and it felt just perfect. Delivery is on Diwali - so excited.
Driving a Optima Sportswagon 1.7 CRDi GT-Line here, I can already see that this car is actually an improvement over the older Optimas. Loving the looks of it. Gonna take my hats off to Kia for creating great semi-luxury like cars for cheaper price. I totally would buy one but sadly the K5 is not coming to Europe. So far, it's a solid review. Keep it going, boys!
@@StarWars1611 The K5 Sportswagon design already exists, you just need to find it on Google, etc. The funny thing is just that its still a monopoly if Europe gets the Sportswagon version or not, even though it was made specifically made for them.
I just purchased this car in the color wolf grey. I went from a 2012 hybrid Escalade so it’s a big change. I have some big financial goals and unfortunately my hybrid system in my suv failed beyond repair. I decided on this. I was so surprised to find a Kia that I actually liked! This is going to be a great car for me for the next couple of years. I get so many compliments on it! Especially on the color.
I do have to say... You guys have driven some WILD cars and you still talk about this as if you are comparing it like the average person would. I greatly appreciate that about you two. Please don't leave this channel EVER!
Yuri and Jakub, your videos are absolutely amazing! Epic production. Can't thank you enough to take us for the rides. Stay healthy and safe. Yuri, this shirt is very nice!
This car is so nice is person. I was driving one day, and someone had this exact model and I literally froze. It was so different, and so nice. I almost wrecked my own car 😂 But I’m glad to say I’ll definitely be getting this model, or the GT sooner than you know it
Everytime I see this car on the street, it's a head Turner. Honestly wish they made a hatchback version, the back already looks like a hatch, that would sell me 100%
I’m in Maine working at Bath Iron Works. & you guys are absolutely my favorite reviewers on the planet. You are hysterical, fun, friendly, thorough, & brutally honest. Good work & good luck!
@@TheBreakfastLover that was my fault; i should have said parking gear, but my point was obvious despite the poor word choice. people in the comments section are calling them out for spending as much time as they did on a non-issue.
@@entertained... agreed, he also spent a weird amount of time complaining about Apple not voice-recognizing "yakub w". Like that was important for his viewers to know about the TLX lol.
Came here because the fella’s in the acura TLX forum were bitching about your hate for the new TLX 😅😅😅😅. You guys love your kia’s eh? Wth?? Love your troll of the acura fans. I am an acura fan and owner, still love it.
They were talking about the dotted line part of the light bar. Dodge and many others (Lincoln, Porsche, etc) have done full rear taillight bars for a while.
Acura TLX > Kia K5 I really enjoyed these guys videos, but after watching them and noticing others comments. I’ve realized they are biased with Kia and Hyundai cars.
I would buy this over a competitor on the imitation tubes for the radio display alone. It also doesnt hurt that that this car is extremely beautiful, seen a couple in the road already, and they definitely stand out
If you've ever driven a Tesla you won't ever, ever in your life comment this. Every car in the world is 5 yrs behind Tesla. All luxury car companies are ruined because Elon is going to fuck them one by one. Kia is the No-kia and Tesla is the Apple of smartphones.
@@rohitlala11 Lol you sound hurt. Yes I would agree Tesla's autopilot is good, but I would say that Cadillac's Super Cruise is probably better at this point.
Kia's track record with product names is dumpster fire. Lincoln: Hold my beer... Cadillac: No, you shut the hell up. You hold my 6 pack. Xbox: Who's the king baby?
Wow that color pops nicely. These cars def suffer from the common problem of "over designed but boring performance." Big fan of the amber squiggly DRLs though.
Love it! I have an ‘11 Optima and the redesigns have done nothing for until now - the new K5 looks awesome! Ps Yuri’s editing and after effects look awesome! It’s a nice touch to actually see what your referring to.
Holy shit its an Asian Charger. Charger: You can be my brother if you have a V8 K5: I have 180 horse power Charger: We'll work on it since you look scary.
Was waiting for the K5 to get reviewed. This car looks really good. I agree with a lot of the nitpicking but they are minor and not deal breakers. I have a 2019 Optima and love it. Very comfortable. So I know the K5 is even better!
