I literally just searched this car and was like I’ll have to wait for sofyan to upload it in a couple weeks ... here we are 12 mins later. My mind was read.
@@joec.5009 i know remember the old days when owning a Hyundai was absolutely embarrassing, now id actually buy Hyundai over most Japanese brands like Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru and even Honda
@@johnnymichael1804 agreed i used to be a huge Hyundai hater Until I got in my buddies 2015 sonata, man what a solid built vehicle that thing is, not only is it solid built it so luxurious especially for the price point, Hyundai,Kia and genesis makes excellent cars now 👍
It's getting annoying though, bc dealerships have limited supply and the demand is high, so it's purposely over MSRP most of the time. Deceptive strategies IMHO.
I'm more of an off road, meathead gearhead but I gotta tell you - your channel is epic. You're getting to 1 million subs any day now. I've been a sub for a long time and I'll really glad you're still around and doing fantastic. I wish you all the success in the world especially with all the changes you've got through. Congrats bro!
I just got the Seltos. The dashboard has this mpg digital gauge that gets very confused when you still have low mileage on the car. When I bought the car it had 7 miles on it. I was driving around town when I first got it and it was saying like 14mpg. Then I drove it over 150 miles and it went up to like 42mpg. Which was probably true if you did the average per trip. Now that I put a little over 300 miles on it, it seems correct at just under 30mpg.
@@travelinman482 My first sentence does make sense. I did just buy the Seltos. I guess you might be confused with the overall idea of what I am explaining. The gauge in the video he is referring to shows your average MPG (miles per gallon). When I first got my Seltos, brand new, it was showing the same low MPG. When on the sticker at the dealership it says high 20's low 30's I think. The reason being when I first got my car, I was just driving around town. Driving very few miles, but driving in stop and go traffic, so high gas usage. Which makes sense to have a low average MPG. Again, low mileage, high gas usage. Then I took it on a trip which was total 300 miles, back and fourth and the average went up to 34 I think. Now again I am doing a lot of town driving and it's back at like 24 or something. If you have any questions about the Seltos I would be happy to answer them. I've had it for about three months now I think. It's a great car
Kia did amazing the new sorento. I love how the back tail lights look, and the front. This makes me one to actually start looking into kia and hyundai.
Why would you say that lol? Still getting outsold by Toyota/Honda by 7timez lmao and dont have Hybrids and Electrics that are good yet. Onces that happens they might sell half of what the Japanese do
@@hannthenan itsa good car but best?? In what ways. Some ways sure but not all ways. Avalon Hybrid, bigger, quieter, faster, close enough on mpgs for not having a weak ass 190hp engine.
@@EpicLemonMusic why are you comparing it to the Avalon? Avalon is a full size luxury car, sonata is a mid-size car. Of course it's gonna be bigger, quieter, and faster rofl
At first glance I appreciate that Sofyan washed these Sorentos and had tire shine applied to the tires! They look fresh & great! Thank you for bringing these CLEAN rides Redline!
Letroy Rogers It was actually hilarious to me because with some of the features they mentioned, the Telluride has it, has something similar, or has something better. Mentions safety tech but the Telluride has the blind spot cameras and better autonomous features. Not to mention the Telluride has the 3.8 across the trims and has a cheaper starting price. The equivalent base explorer is like 2k more expensive and gets a 4 cylinder lmao.
What a *BEAUTIFUL* job Kia has done, oh my goodness! *Kia-Hyundai-Genesis* is gonna shake the entire automotive market and I really hope they do. They seriously make *wonderful* cars. *AMAZING.* Great job Kia. This car will *definitely* sell well:) It deserves to.
Aruba green looks fantastic in person. You really can’t tell on camera. I work for Kia and we just got our first high trim Sorento’s last week. So much better than the previous generation
Love your enthusiastic reviews and this one really sold me on the X-Line model, although your devilish laugh in the SX model was great to see. That is how driving should be - fun and engaging. Excellent!
whoa, I'm Korean and alot of the Korean reviews show the mineral blue(?) color which is not so attractive imo, but this green makes the car look soo much better!
Quick notice. You can actually make the Apple CarPlay fill up the entire screen. You have to go into settings and turn off split screen in the Apple CarPlay setting. At least that’s what is in my SX Prestige.
Another great Kia product and another great RR video. If I may make one critique. Your camera guy needs to work on framing a shot without his shadow (or reflection) in the picture. Things like being further back and using a zoom lens. I love your videos but it’s the little details that will take them to the next level. Keep up the good work.
Love the fractionally lifted look of the X-Line, although the elimination of A/C vents and controls for third-row inmates isn't going to play well in sunbelt cities.
Trust me my friends this KIA Sorento turbo package with all the extra futures is an amazing freakin Suv!! I couldn’t have been any more satisfied with it that I went ahead and got it for my mom! She loves the heck out of that suv!! I was able to get her the white one with black accents and man it looks sporty and luxurious overall! A+ for KIA on this one (:
I love the fact that this NEW Green Color (that I first seen on 2021 G80 and fell in love with) is making it’s way to main stream vehicles. I noticed other car manufacturers picking it up. The Beautiful Deep Red Mazda introduced on the Mazda 6 and 2012 Sonata was put on everything over the past 9 years and I love that color and have it on my new 2017 Impala but it’s stepping aside to make room for this beautiful Green. You’re going to see a lot more. Prior to this year I can not think of any Main Street vehicle that offered green.
Black is not very popular but I like that color combination too. I also prefer the light headliner, unless you have small kids. The RAV4 offers a black edition.
After getting my wife's Buick Encore, I was looking into getting a Regal GS but after buying my 2020 Forte GT, I'm thinking of getting one of these in that blue. The Korean manufacturer's sporty/top trim level vehicles are giving so much away for very little cost. So awesome. My first car was an Elantra. Guess it was meant to be.
One of the vehicles I drive for work is a 2018 Toyota Highlander but FWD...! It has a V6, and just like this Sorento, it's ALWAYS dangerously spinning its front wheels, even with light throttle inputs. 😅 It's too bad because it has a really powerful and smooth engine.
This thing is amazing and I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Never had an SUV and with 2 kids getting big I was in much need and my partner would always say no to me when I wanted us to trade in our Honda Accord because she never cared for cars but for some reason she fell in love with this as well and we went and got the sx prestige xline and man I believe it’s worth the price. It’s got enough room for families because kids fit fine in 2nd and 3rd row and even some adults fit in the back fine for a ride and will be ok. And when you don’t need the back seats you can fold them easy. Also driving it is fun. ✌️
Killing it! This is probably my favorite now from Kia the Teluride is a bit too big for me and I wasn't a fan of that 3.8 not that fuel efficient and not fast either.
I have been obsessed with the Aruba Green/Rust Leather interior combo since Kia announced the new Sorento in September! I put down a deposit for this exact trim yesterday and it should be delivered in January. I'm already excited but this video just makes me that much more sure of my choice.
saw one of these today at my local KIA dealership and it's a super sharp looking rig. I'm still looking to go for the "big brother"...but if I was looking for something smaller, this would be at the top of my list.
My wife and I test drove the Sorento Xline and then immediately went to Hyundai and test drove the Santa Fe Limited. Liked them both, but we noticed the Santa Fe had less wind noise and a much softer ride. I figure the reduced wind noise may be due to the laminated side windows on the Santa Fe. The Sorento only has the windshield laminated. Any idea why the Sorento has such a noticeably harsher ride? The Sorento is on 20 inch tires, while the Santa Fe had 19 inch tires. The Sorento offers 19 inch tires, but we like the options on the Xline trim. Is it possible the tires make that much of a difference?
After pricing this and a Telluride with similar options, the price appears to be more or less even. So I'm wondering what the use case is for someone picking a Sorento X-Line over a Telluride.
Well that makes we want to look at this vehicle even more. I've been looking at resale and at least in Canada Kia/Hyundai seem to hold value better these days.
@@al151 ...I’m talking about how Japanese cars entered the market by being innovative and competitively priced, which is what Korean autos are doing right now
Another thing with the new uvo system. You can set your heated or cooled seats and temp all by your phone with remote start. Also something unique is when you do remote start you no long have to hit the start button once you get in
I'm a Ford guy. But Kia is nailing it with new cars right now. Although powertrain options could be better. Kia has the right idea to include 3rd in this segment. Everyone should do that.
They’ve removed them hydraulic lifts on the hood. Sadness. From the Opti..K5, they remove it too. And the handle to close the truck is gone. And finally, they reduced the size of the gasoline tank. I really wanted to update but... great review as always.
Great video. I'm not holding my breath, but I hope that for the 2023 models, Sapphire Blue will be an option for the X-Line SX Prestige. If not, Aruba Green will be my backup color!
Has anyone else been obsessively waiting for the Sorento to be released? SO in love with this new design. The Sapphire Blue is amazing, but the X-Line is just too awesome to give up for a color. Downside - I would have really liked to see heated rear seats on higher trims.
Good review. Nice job by Kia. Does the top trim have an HUD? Also, eliminate the 3rd row, why doesn't the Sorento compete w/ the Lexus NX or Acura RDX? Size and price are similar as are 95% of available options.
Unfortunately they are not options here in the US, I went to the dealership to check the highest SX Prestige trim and it does not have those features. Weird choice not to include them.
@@fredparker3384 I’m sorry but you’re mistaken. The X-Line trim level in the US market does not have these features you can upgrade for a form of ambient lighting as an option but not the way you see it in other countries markets.
Kia has been doing excellent with their new vehicles. They nailed it once again. My only concern is that there is no heated seats in the back. I would like to see that in 2022.
Great review, as usual. MotorTrend just did their first drive review and really did not like the dual clutch transmission for everyday driving. What's your take on the dual clutch transmission for a daily driver/commuter car? I'm really interested in the turbo Sorento, but the dual clutch makes me leery.
Differentiator between your and other reviews is we get to know what other cars have or havent in same segment. Good, keep innovating presentation. I enjoyed when you took turn and felt that you would laugh and you did :D And yes, yours was pre-prod model.
