Talking about how the Mach 1 has 10 less hp than the previous year because of stricter emissions. Yet the officials putting these stricter “emissions” in place are flying around the world in there private jets putting out more emissions that all of those cars combined 😂
I just traded a 392 Durango for a silver M1 as well. Haven’t driven a manual in a couple years, the 3160 def did not disappoint. My only real issue is not have a toggle dedicated to suspension and exhaust independent of the drive modes.
Traded my 2020 csgt for a grabber blue mach1.. it’s an auto though. Big difference but it’s fast. Don’t really miss my 6speed but I would’ve loved to see what this could do with the 6spd
Really can't compare a 300a vs a Mach 1 in terms of cost. Compare a 401a with magnaride and active exhaust. Now you're looking at an 7k delta. Make all those mach 1/gt350 goodies look like a steal
I liked your review and all the points you made about the pros and cons of the Mach1 (biggest con is price, right?). Which would (did) I choose between the Supra, Camaro, or Mach1? Well, I cant have (another) 2-seater, so Supra drops out. Camaro is a performance bargain and apparently outperforms the Mustang? BUT the front face of the last generation camaro looks better than this new one and a few reviewers have mentioned the visibility stuff and maybe said 'not the best as a daily driver'. So I put down the $60k on a 2023 Dark Matter Mach 1 (non handling pak - keeps the cost down). I've verified what MANY reveiewers here say....this car makes you smile every time you take it out and row thru the gears! The sound, the taught magnetic suspension is a dream, and the Tremec 6-speed is reason enough to jump up from the Mustang GT and enjoy ALL the Shelby GT350 bits on this car, omg! I doubt I will ever track it, but she makes me feel like a race car driver every time I go get milk or eggs, LOL
@@MilesPerHr I understand, it doesn’t matter, the rest of these vehicles are insane I’m so happy you are the only one who does it perfectly, these POV drives are nice without ASMR👍
@@MilesPerHr it's even worse. You can't order a 1LE apparently in most places, and if you somehow can get a Camaro SS ordered production dates well into 23 and likely may not even be fulfilled before the line closes end of year. Chevy has left the Camaro for dead
good review. Your not going to find a coupe out there with the window down that has a solid thunk door closing sound. Enjoyed this video thoroughly. Good work Also worth mentioning the 10hp/trq is easily regained by removing a plastic piece inside the intake which is easily done. Ive driven a Mach and owned 2 camaro SS 1les. While the camaro has the bettter suspension, driving ergonomics, seats, it lacks the character of the 5.0 engine and the "fun" factor, the digital gauge cluster, the aftermarket support. Personally I think they are both amazing cars and either one is great. Good to see you driving in my backyard.
@@layne4376 Well I've owned both, the camaro has more usable torque down low right, but on higher speed tracks you stay in the upper RPM where the 5.0 is better. On paper the 5.0 actually makes more power. The gearing in the mustangs is what holds back the engine IMO
This reviewer missed the whole specialness of the Mach 1 comparing it to a base GT - Magneride suspension, Tremec, upgraded wheels/tires, 6 piston brakes, Exhaust system, Recaros etc is worth $20k. Supra is a BMW and very different type of driving experience.
I'll say that even though the upcoming new Mustang gen looks great on the outside, I much prefer the dash in this outgoing gen. New one just looks like they put some ipad tablets in there instead, it really bugs me. Thanks for this great POV drive!
Really not that bad. I've commuted with manual and autos and prefer manuals. This isn't the 80s, clutches aren't that bad. Or hit the gym/do some squats.
Hated driving the Camaro can't see and it's a rough ride, good track car though. Mach 1 handles great but drives like a GT on the street. I almost got the gt350 but was more expensive, at my driving lvl I wouldn't be faster on track anyway, and the Mach 1s low end is WAY better. Basically for the price as a daily driver that I want to track 3-4 times a year this was the car for me. The worst thing about it is it's a mustang as far as I'm concerned, never been a huge mustang or muscle car fan.
So let's see -- kudos -- your regimen in the last few months has been a steady diet of SUVs and 8,000 lb behemoths. Congrats on getting some actual driving done in a "3900" lb coupé. God bless America. For my $64K of sports car dollar (in this country and on paper). 1LE -- driving a sports car is not about opinion.
18 mpg and a small 16 gal tank. You can get 20 on the highway though but hard not to put your foot in it. How you drive this car has a HUGE impact on economy. Like 14 mpg vs 18 mpg in town depending on how you drive.
The miles to empty is probably based on how you've been driving it since the last trip-odometer reset. This is a press car - it's been mostly flogged. That miles-to-empty number is a worst case scenario.
Hard to enjoy any Ford vehicle these days. Especially after hearing Jim Farley (Ford CEO) admit to a group of retired engineers that it will take several years for the Blue Oval to fix its quality problems. While I have not heard of any issues with the Shelby GT500, I certainly would not hold my breath with the rest of the Ford lineup. What is truly ironic is the fact that all these Ford fans kept whining - _Why don't you just take all the good parts from each of the Mustangs and put them together?_ Then Ford does just that with this Mach 1 and now everyone keeps harping on how this is nothing more than a parts bin pony. You just cannot please some people. In my humble opinion, this is _not_ what the original Mach 1 represented. The performance is accurate but aesthetically speaking it is a miss. The most glaring oversight would have to be the omission of the hood scoop. That active hood scoop is what set the Mach 1 apart from the rest of the herd. I really want to love this newest iteration of the Mustang Mach 1. However, I cannot help but agree with some when they say that it was headed down the right path. Unfortunately, this new Mach 1 never finished the race. Great review nonetheless Miles. Stay classy my friend.
Mustangs is better looking and more practical, ergonomic, better visibility and spacious vs the Supra and Camaro, but I really hope the handling and steering of the next gen is better than the SS 1LE. Not hopeful though as it's mostly a refresh. The steering in particular has been terrible for this gen with a slow rack, dead on center, poor return to center and no road feel.
@MilesPerHr thanks for weighing in, I haven't driven the Mach 1. I had a GT PP1 with GT350 and FRPP, Steeda parts for many years. I am now eyeing a GR86 as it fixes every issue I had with the muscle cars, at the cost of missing the sweet V8 sounds.
@@sunnyvalentino currently in a 22’ brz (coming from a heavily modded 135i) and I have 0 regrets. Easy to say when you still have both cars, but I havent driven my beemer a single time since. I also had a 2016 GT. I say send it, but if you have any questions, ask away.
@@sunnyvalentino I have both a 23 GR86 and a 21 Mach 1 Handling Pack both 6MT. GR86 is incredible value and a great daily driver, but it needs an exhaust and the fake engine noise deleted. If you have the opportunity to buy a GR86 new at MSRP don't hesitate. That being said I love the Mach 1. The sound, gearbox, looks, and handling gives it a fun factor and character the GT was lacking.
