This became my dream car when they dropped it i literally seen one exactly like this 2 days ago i couldn’t believe i seen one it’s beautiful in person yall , breath taking!
@@aircamflyer huh? bch sdfuu i’m sorry u live in the hood and never would see one or potentially buy one i live in the suburbs and just ordered mines it’ll be here christmas time
When at 90% SoC, my EQS580 reported 413 mi range. That translates to a maximum range of 459 miles. I drive in comfort mode with maximum recuperation and very few launches. You may get more range in economy and less in sport mode. I think recuperation make a big difference in range. Mine came with the fragrance dispenser and rear wheel steering which is fabulous for this very long car. I rate the EQS580 90 out of 100.
Videos and still shots don't do justice to vehicles. I saw one of these parked while out shopping and it is strikingly different and unique in it's appearance. It caught my eye.
The EQS has amazing brakes. When, new they do feel different, after a week or 2 you don't feel anything amiss when using "normal" regen. No regen or full regen will always feel different because they are different. Full regen is the best, smoothest one pedal drive of any EV. Despite the complaints of the self moving pedal, personally it has never felt abnormal to me.
Maybe the soft close feature will be an OTA update. Given how many times you used the word disappointment, it makes sense to conclude that the gas version is the way to go. I guess BMW made the right decision with their electric version of the 7 series.
For all the features it has, the lack of ability to advance a track/channel from the steering wheel would be a deal breaker for me. I use that every single day in my Mach-E and it would drive me nuts to have to locate the small digital track advance button on the center screen every time.
Same with BMW the Germans seem to have hit a wall in design in general. Bmw is flat out boring as hell and a Benz seems to now really know where to go with future car designs.
Pros: Nicest interior you've been in, save for another Mercedes, great ride, quiet, good range Cons: Half the power of a Model S Plaid, no quicker than a $65k EV, impressively ugly
Lol your pros are ok but you need to adjust your cons, this is an s-class, I don't know if you know what the s-class stands for, it's not for zero to sixty time, it's for pure luxury, ask your self this question; has the s-class ever been one of the fastest mercedes ever or has it ever been among the top 4 fast mercedes ever, there are a lot of fast cars, there's an amg gt, there's an amg one, there's an e 63 s amg, there's a c 63 s amg, there's an amg gt 4 door, what I'm trying to say is that if it's for track and raw speed, that's not the duty of the s-class, there will be cars for that purpose, the s-class I remind you once again is for pure luxury, that's why almost at the same price point with the tesla plaid, it is way more luxurious than the plaid and any other ev. And if the s-class does zero to sixty in 2 seconds, what will the amg gt 4 door and the normal amg gt black series now do when they manufacture there EV variants. Please let's be guided
Looks are subjective. I think it looks great. A car like this is not about drag racing. I wouldn't buy a Plaid just because of its ridiculous steering "wheel" that they call a yoke. I call it a joke.
Honestly, literally all the hate comes from people who will never drive one. It’s just a tech experiment. I’m sure it will evolve better soon. It looks fine to me.
No disrespect but it’s just ugly as hell from the outside I get it it’s for aerodynamics but then again they could’ve done it in a way better move like the Audi e tron Gt for an example this looks nowhere near a saloon but rather a oversized hatchback the interior however is nice but let’s be honest you ain’t going to use all of that screen right?
A good review on a lovely car ..like your detailed explanation of the digital displays & the actual driving experience...this would influence me into purchasing this model ...😅
For over the air updates, I want to see: recuperation setting in profiles vs resetting to off; auto lock all doors when leaving vehicle; a profile setting to bypass the dumb on/off button as it’s totally unnecessary in an EV. Maybe a future EQS will have a handy frunk
Sofyan the car was supposed to be equipped with self closing doors, however, the "chip shortage' issue put the kibosh on that and a couple of other electrical goodies, for example the LED are "only" 64 color, no toll transponders are available etc. Every batch of EQS have differing equipment depending on what they can supply at that particular moment.
I think we will start seeing that. The Porsche Taycan has a two-speed unit for better efficiency at speeds above 80 mph. Right now I think thats the only one.
Regarding the soft close door, they have an option where the doors open or close automatically. Next time, get a pennicle-optioned car before you complain about things not included.
That's the AMG interior which really doesn't make sense on the non-AMG EQS. The multi-contour seats have less aggressive bolstering, very comfortable - not to mention the pillows on the headrest.
I get the notion of a full and flat screen that you use for all the controls, to give some sort of Star Trek looking theme....but I'm not sure that's where technology should take us. For me, I'd rather have high quality, nicely designed, tactile turning knobs, with nice lighting, to control climate, radio, or whatever. There is something classy and luxurious about quality knobs...and I'd prefer that over all the touch screen things. In a way, I hope it is a fad that will eventually die out. Not everything has to be touch screen. IMO
I agree with you on this, because it is much quicker and easier to have physical knobs for the entertainment and climate functions instead of having to look away from the road and search for the digital functions. Also, if the screen malfunctions where the user cannot change the climate, it would be dangerous if the car became hotter or if the windows fogged up. In addition, if the car was out of warranty, I cannot only imagine the hefty price for paying to fix or replace the screen.
@@benjamincamp9608 Very true! Yes, it is much more complicated, and could be potentially dangerous. And the cost of fixing it. I often wonder about that. My 2014 Civic screen is still fine,...but in no way would it cost as much to fix/replace than a huge screen. I hadn't thought about that aspect of it, but it is something to consider. Thanks for the reply!
@@DRayL_ Yeah, I can't imagine all the labor it'll take to disassemble that thing to say, change out one of the screens if it goes out or something. Imagine if you're out of warranty, lol.
brake is very much an electric car thing, you get used to it quite quickly. my old tesla was the same way. the more you drive the smoother you will get with the brake. this is an amazing car!!! get a used one for 1/2 off list price. (or better)
Idk why, but RU-vid unsubscribed me from this channel. Ive been watching his videos for 5+ years. RU-vid hates when people come up so they have to unsubscribe people. Ridiculous
Within 5 to 10 yrs our society is going to be kicking ourselves for not going all in on EVs in the early 2000s or even decades b4. Look how far Weve come and itll all get so much better over the next 10 yrs. Finally some true advancement. Im here for EVs, watch the next gen Sonata and Camry have powerful ev variants. Exciting times for auto buyers and enthusiast
They have come on really fast. Many automakers in the 2000s didn’t expect electric cars to be a thing for a quite some time. I saw a documentary where one GM executive didn’t think it would come till the mid 2030s but look here we are today in 2022 and they are literally everywhere. And by the year 2030 most new cars will be electric and hybrid for performance cars. And I think by 2025-2026 the electrical grid and charging station infrastructure is just going to take off as many consumers will want to get an electric car. Just in my area there are a lot teslas and the Hyundai ionic cars. And as gas prices keep rising the average consumer will have more confidence in getting an electric car. Newer models that are more and more affordable are releasing every year
This is an S Class so referring to the ICE version as "The S Class" is inaccurate and confusing. The EQS will quite likely become the better seller of the two soon enough...so I'd suggest you start referring to this as an Electric S Class and the other as a gas or ICE S Class.
I recent bought the EQS and the most irritating part about the cruise control is that it adjusts down to the posted speed limit and often reads it wrong like reducing the speed from 65mph to 35mph because it read the exit ramp speed even when I am not taking the exit. I have not found a setting to change this functionality.
The Carplay display in this luxury car looks cheap and cartoonish. The instrument panel on the MB is beautiful and very elegant but the Apple Carplay UI looks like something more appropriate in a Kia Seltos.
You are obviously biased towards the Tesla. Not sure how you can compare the quality of the Tesla Model S interior to that of the EQS. Shocking! Mercedes needed to cut corners to keep the price reasonable for what you get. Guess you will say its ok to buy the Lucid for over $150K from a company without a known history in the automative world!
I’ve seen this car many times in Richmond, B.C… in my personal opinions it’s slightly more attractive in person than in images or video. Regardless, the S class is significantly more beautiful and holds much much more status than this.
The best EV on market. Bravo Mercedes! Better than any Tesla and other such products. Pure luxury - the best ot nothing. Germans smoked everybody encluding Chinese producers. But why on hell you do not enclude fragrance is it a joke? Who would buy this "peace of art" stinking of plastic and german tears?
